About the property

The casita is wall surrounded, situated on one level in a quite Cull de sac,well of a main road in the village of La Asomada. With two terraces and a large (8m X 4m ) solar heated pool. You can request additional electric heating for a price of £90,00 Pounds per week. The perfect holiday home for 2 two 6 persons. In the main house there are 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin, sharing a bathroom with walk-in shower. A large sitting room leads to the upper private sun terrace and a few steps take you to the lower pool terrace. Attached is a separate self contained studio with its own access to the pool terrace. Both unites have ample wardrobe space and built-in safes.

The casita offers a well equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. There is dining for 6 persons in the sitting room and on the upper terrace. A fine barbecue (Weber) gas grill is provided for your al fresco dining.

Full English TV, Wifi, CD, DVD and radio with USB port is provided. Also you will find ample books, table and card games at the villa.

You are only have a five minutes drive to the main resort of Puerto del Carmen with its sandy beaches, restaurants and bars. The same distance is to Tias, the district town, Puerto Calero the renowned yacht harbour and the wine region La Geria.

Shopping for food, bars and restaurants are only a few minutes away.

About Peter

Having lived and worked in England in the hotel industry for over 35 years and travelled numerous continents and countries, my real love for the island of Lanzarote never faded. I retired early in life and settled in La Asomada where I now live very happy and contend with my two best friends Diva and Heiko my Dalmatian pets. I own Casita Canaria situated in a more rural area but still very close to all the interesting lively sites ( 5 minutes drive ) of Puerto del Carmen and indeed the delightful Marina of Puerto Calero. This part of Lanzarote is more suited for the lover of a quiet and peaceful holiday, and to recharge your energy for the ever more demanding stresses in your life.

I bought this fine property some years ago off plan in one of the islands quieter residential areas, to create a comfortable holiday home for friends and family. It is situated in a very quiet location and still close to all amenities, which makes it the perfect holiday retreat. Although you need to hire a car but that is recomended, especially if you do not know this beautyful island there is ampel opportunity to walk and there is public transport too. Certainly you will not be disturbed by traffic noise and you can reach the airport within 15 minutes. The property offers privacy with two superb south facing terraces and its heated roman style pool. It is wall surrounded and stands in 500m2 of ground with its stunning country and sea views.

My guests are telling me that when staying at Casita Canaria they can totally unwind and always enjoy my 'starter pack' on arrival. After which they like to stock up on groceries for the week in order to enjoy a lazy time by the pool, or to get ready for a fantastic family barbecue. The large supermarket is only 4 minutes drive away. The kitchen has all sorts of modern utensils and is well stocked with good china and glass .

Exactly as expected

The website description is very accurate. The villa is well appointed and well equipped, with comfortable indoor and eating dining and reclining seating, and a well equipped kitchen. Immaculate bedrooms and bathroom, very comfortable bed in the double room. Our week in Lanzarote was very windy, and despite the wall around it, the pool and terrace were still quite chilly because of the wind. The pool is a nice size - 4x8m I think - and we asked Peter for the additional heating. This brought the temperature up to 80 degrees or so, without that we would have found it a bit chilly in the water - but we did have a week of quite cold weather. Enjoyed swimming once it was at 80! The villa is very well kept, tidy and clean; the outside area is a bit scruffy in places but the furniture is well kept and in very good condition, and the pool is kept very clean.

Peter, the owner, lives next door and we found him both delightful and helpful. Phoning him with queries was never a problem; he gave excellent advice regarding eating out and traveling around, which was most helpful and much appreciated.

The various Manrique inspired and designed exhibits around the island are well worth a visit in our view.

Eating out nearby? - La Tegala is very smart and stylish, beautifully presented food but some slightly strange combinations in their dishes; La Cabana, in our view, is the highest standard we found on the island. It gets very booked so make sure you book in advance if you want to try it! Eating elsewhere not fantastic, but well worth asking Peter for his advice.

On one of our sunny days we went to Playa del Pozo, between Playa Mujeres and Playa de Papagayo to the east of Play Blanca: big, golden sand beach, you have to walk to it from the car park at Playa Mujeres, and you can enjoy the sun without your clothes if you so wish....
