Nice villa in quiet surroundings.

  • 4 of 5

Practical and effective villa for a max of 8 persons. Basic but sufficient bedrooms, nice and roomy bathrooms, wonderful sitting room / dining room, small but adequate kitchen with too few utensils, glasses and dishes, nice pool area with a building to provide shadow, superb view of the valley and the village to the northeast, the parasol above the outdoor table needs more weights at present it can hardly be used, in total the house is better and has more charm than what appears at the first glance. The village is charming and it has a supreme bakery for both bread and cakes and there is an equally superb meat shop with delightful take away lunches and dinners.

Judith has complete control of the property and is effective in fixing what might need to be fixed. Our best recommendation for her helpful advice and services.

Conclusion: A practical and enjoyable property close to a charming village.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review - we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at this villa. The weights for the parasol arrived after your stay and are now in place - Ikea had failed to send the correct number. Many thanks for drawing our attention to the quantity of crockery and utensils in the kitchen which the owners will rectify when they visit very shortly. We hope to see you again some time in the future

Great holiday villa with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely villa two weeks in April. We were the first ones to rent the villa from the new owners and everything was freshly painted and one of the bathrooms was new. There's amazing views of the mountains and the village from the villa. We watched the sunrise from out bedroom window and from the terrace to the front of the house. There's plenty of terraces to sit on so we could choose if we wanted sun or shade. It's a short walk to the village where we would go in the mornings to buy croissants. We also took a beautiful walk to an old chapel and a little stream about 20 minutes walk from the villa. The weather was perfect for April about 21-26 degrees every day and the pool was a good place to cool of.

We could get everything we needed in the village but for bigger shopping we went to Carfour a large supermarket about 10 minutes drive from the house.

The house itself has everything you need and is furnished with a mixture of modern and antique furniture. The outdoor areas are great and we likes the small lively village and the area in general. In the evenings we would barbecue or go to the village for a meal. Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

We highly recommend this villa. We had two great weeks.

Thank you.

Poul &Kirsten Denmark.

Villa with an amazing view and a short walk to the village

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the the Flayosc villa. Our timing was perfect as the village fete and carnival were in town (first two weeks of August). We visited markets and neighboring villages in the morning and swam in the private pool with spectacular views of the Provencal countryside in the afternoon and walked into town in the evening for dinner. A few nights we just BBQ'd and enjoyed watching the stars appear. The villa itself was pretty basic with some of the furniture a bit old and the TV not set up to for us to watch the Olympics but we spent our time outside anyhow. Our truly lovely vacation was supported by the care of our property manager Judith Thompson who greeted us upon arrival and saw that we moved in comfortably and had a nice bottle of rose to kick off our holiday.

Car: recommended

The Riviera is only a short drive away - St Maxime, St Raphael, Cannes, Antibes amongst many other Mediterranean towns and villages. Of course St Tropez is also easily accessible - but remember to take a water taxi from St Maxime in the summer months to avoid the traffic jams to this popular resort situated on a peninsula! Don't forget that there are also beaches at Lac St Croix which are much quieter and just as good if not quite as glamorous as the Côte d'Azur!

The villa is easily accessed by air (Nice 90 kms, Toulon 79kms and also Marseille), TGV train (Les Arcs-Draguignan - 15kms) and by road (Junction 36 at Le Muy, A8). Car hire is advisable if you wish to take advantage of all of the wonderful villages, the Gorges du Verdon and the coast. However, the village with a huge variety of shops and services is only 15 minutes by foot so visitors may be self sufficient without transport.

The lovely village of Tourtour is 13 kms drive. Les Arcs with its lovely medieval quarter is 15 kms. The fantastic Gorges du Verdon is less than one hour away. Avignon and its famous bridge is a 2 hour drive.

Further Details:

The village is well equipped with 2 small supermarkets, fresh fish shop, butcher, delicatessen,2 bakers, chemist, 3 doctors, a dentist, bank, post office, gift shops, 4 bars 2 of which serve food and (at last count) 8 restaurants! A famous truffle restaurant is to be found in a nearby village 15 minutes' drive away. The local town of Draguignan is only 8kms away and has large supermarkets and a variety of shops. Provençal markets are held in the local villages almost every day of the week: Monday Flayosc, Tuesday Lorgues, Wednesday Draguignan, Thursday Bargemom, Friday Le Luc en Provence, Saturday Aups and Draguignan amongst many others. Flayosc is ideally situated half way between the spectacular Gorges du Verdon and the sophisticated Mediterranean coast. From here you can easily visit Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, St Tropez, Marseille and the wonderful cities of Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Orange are accessible too.
