About the property

This 32m2 first floor apartment is perfectly located right on the slopes in the Les Village 1800 section of the resort. The apartment offers stunning mountain views over the slopes with a private S/SW facing balcony.A secure ski locker is available as well as free underground parking. The apartment is in a peaceful location with a supermarket, Sport 2000 ski hire, launderette and several bars and restaurants on your doorstep. The centre is just a 10 minute walk away, or a few minutes on skis or sledges, and there is a free shuttle service, so you are very well connected. We have a Manager in resort who will meet you upon your arrival, organise hire of bed linen and towels, and can book ski school, lift passes and even a "welcome" essential grocery pack should you be arriving late and miss the shops.

The Village 1800 chairlift (to Cretes at 2100m-middle station) is just a 5 minute walk/ski from the apartment which connects you with the rest of the resort, or you can ski across the beginner slopes to the main Jandri Express gondola and the Oeufs Blanc bubble. This is the meeting point for the beginners' ski schools or often the first day of lessons. You can also ski right back to the apartment via a green or black run which is really convenient at the end of the day, or if you want to pop back for lunch.

Les Deux Alpes is a lively resort and the town includes a supermarket, over 40 restaurants, many bars, a cinema, bowling, and an outdoor heated swimming pool, and the usual ski shops. This is a great all year round holiday location with glacier skiing and summer activities including mountain biking, hiking, golf and white water rafting. Our apartment is ideal for families or friends, with a second adjacent apartment also available, which sleeps 4/5 (Ref 1939304).

Basic but does the job

It is was it is!

Pro's -Ski in/out! Warm appartment with plenty of hot water(bath with overhead shower)

The owner owns the appartment next door which worked well for us 5-more space,2 bathrooms & WC's. They also have an additional external door on the corridor which allows you to move between appartments without a key! The free bus service only runs until 6.45(ish) so unless your fit you'll have an uphill hike back on an evening!its possible to ski a green or black back to the door! With poor snow it's best to catch a lift down the mountain!

Both appartments would benefit with an IKEA makeover esp updating some cooking utensils/microwave/oven & storage! A welcome pack would have been useful with directions to launderette,shuttle bus times etc. Saying that if you can manage with a kettle & toaster this could be ideal!

Les2Alpes offers some challenging skiing not for 1st timers or faint hearted!

Les Deux Alpes is a ski resort in the French Isère. The village sits at 1,650 m and lifts run to 3,600 m. It has the largest skiable glacier in Europe and is France's second oldest ski resort behind Chamonix, where the largest mountain in western Europe is located, Mont Blanc. It has the longest, normally open full on-piste vertical available in the world. It is a 71 km drive southeast of Grenoble.

Skiable area: 4.300 km² (1.660 sq miles)

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Although noted for its glacier and big summer and winter snowparks, 2 Alpes offers a wide range of activities. Speed riding is increasingly popular in winter, as is ski randonnee (cross country skiing). There are great opportunities for off piste at all levels, both here and in the linked area of La Grave, and daily helicopter trips leave from the helipad at 2100m. There are several parapenting schools, and in summer the resort offers tennis, golf, swimming and skating, as well as great walking opportunities and a huge and rapidly expanding mountain biking area.

LOCAL SIGHTS

The pretty village of La Grave, notorious for its challenging off-piste terrain is about 30 minutes away by road - ride the old gondola for some of the most spectacular mountain views in the region. The ride up to Pic Blanc at Alpe d'Huez an hour away offers views of distant Mont Blanc. Further afield you can tour the Chartreus distillery at Voiron on the other side of Grenoble, visit the museum and grounds of the chateau at Vizille on the D1091, or take a ride on the old funicular railway at St Hilaire du Touvet towards Chambery.

GOLF

The nine-hole course at 2 Alpes starts appearing out of the snow around May, and is open for business when the resort opens for summer in June. Golfers looking for more of a challenge should head for the course at Uriage les Bain near Grenoble, just over an hour's drive away.
