This beautiful bright 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom raised ground floor apartment definitely has the ‘wow’ factor.

Only 30 metres from the beach, with spectacular sea views from every room!

Although we viewed many fantastic places to buy, this beautiful, comfortable apartment just hit the spot, nothing could compare with the views and location. We love this place and hope you do too.

It’s set within the secure, gated community of Puerto Del Mar, a beautiful ‘sun lovers’ dream apartment, and it couldn’t be closer to the beach.

With uninterrupted sea views from every room, and direct access to the beach and the new boardwalk, it provides a perfect holiday destination for sun-lovers, golfers, couples and families of all ages.

There are four pools including a large sparkling ‘lagoon’ style pool, a lovely large round pool and two children’s pools, in secure areas, with showers and beautiful gardens.

The building is serviced by two sets of lifts to help with mobility, luggage and shopping.

The bright, spacious lounge opens onto a superb wrap around terrace, which faces both south and southwest. From here the sea views will take your breath away as well as providing stunning views of both the sunrise and the sunset at most times of the year. (the sun being directly overhead in high summer!)

The terrace is a perfect place for comfortable al fresco dining, as well as relaxing on the sofa in the evening with a glass of wine or prosecco watching the world go by and the sun go down.

The apartment is brightly decorated, has WiFi and TV with a full package of UK channels including sport and movies. (Other language channels can be provided).

There is a bluetooth speaker/radio for you to use.

The apartment is furnished with quality and comfort in mind. It has air conditioning/heating in every room, making it a perfect all year round holiday destination. The kitchen and utility rooms are well equipped with a comprehensive range of appliances and equipment to make your stay more enjoyable.

There is a private secure parking space for a small car as well as on street parking; a car is nice to have but not essential, as all facilities are within easy walking distance, as well as being close to a regular bus service.

Ideally located just a short distance from Royal Beach, home to one of the best Chiringuitos (beach bar) on this stretch of coastline. The popular Luna Beach and Chiringuito, is only a five minute stroll along the new boardwalk in one direction, with the fabulous El Caprico Chiringuito 5 mins in the other direction.

A 15m walk (part boardwalk part beach) brings you to the picturesque port of Cabopino with its fabulous yachts and numerous bars and restaurants. The superb coastal boardwalk provides easy access to many other top class bars, and restaurants along the coastline. You’ll be spoilt for choice and could eat somewhere different every day.

This apartment is ideally located on the Costa Del Sol, between Fuengirola , with its beautiful old town, and the up market Marbella and Puerta Banus, as well as being well situated for visiting the charming whitewashed mountain village of Mijas Pueblo.

Locally there are numerous top class golf courses,

(9 close by!) as well as theme parks, a safari park, a sea life centre, a zoo, and water parks. For those looking for more active fun there is a gym and a tennis club close by.

We are both from the North West of England and love our holidays but this is the only place we have found which keeps drawing us back. It is so easy to get to, we just love the area and the climate is fantastic!

As well as beach holidays we also enjoy skiing, so this location offers the best of both worlds with the excellent ski resort of Sierra Nevada just over 2 hours away by car. Great too for golfers with 5 beautiful courses close by.

We just love the location, it is perfectly situated just a few hundred metres from Royal Beach, home to one of the best Chiringuitos (beach bar) on this coastline. You can spend the day on one of their perfectly positioned sun beds and order food and drink without leaving your sun bed.

What makes this apartment unique

As soon as we saw this property we fell in love with it. It is a bright apartment with fantastic sea views everywhere you look.

The bright, spacious lounge opens onto a superb wrap around terrace, which faces both south and southwest. From here the sea views will take your breath away as well as providing stunning views of both the sunrise and the sunset at most times of the year. On clear days you can easily see Gibraltar and the African coast.

The terrace is a perfect place for enjoying your breakfast al fresco, whilst planning your day, and then in the evening relaxing on the sofa with a glass of wine, watching the world go by, and the sun go down.

In the well maintained grounds of the community there are 4 pools, including a large lagoon style pool (being the main feature), there is another large circular pool and 2 children's pools, all pools are fenced off for safety. There are plenty of sun beds to relax on, around the swimming pools, and pool towels are provided for your stay.

Great apartment right on the beach

We had a most enjoyable and comfortable week in this beautifully located two bedroom apartment. It was a real home from home with sunshine and great views along the coast. The large balcony was a joy and the underground parking space a real bonus. Both the apartment and the grounds - including a lovely pool complex - were well maintained and we wanted for nothing. The recently built boardwalk that is accessed directly from the complex provides lovely walks along the beachfront and gives access to good beach bars and eating places. There are two supermarkets just across the main coastal highway - a ten minute walk. If you do not have a car there is a regular bus service along the coast with a stop withing a few minutes walk. Easy access to the variety of Costa del Sol towns and villages and Malaga airport. Wayne and Julie provided all the information anyone could need before our stay and could not have been more helpful. The apartment is well equipped including WiFi and an excellent range of TV stations if you enjoy keeping in touch with the news and watching a little TV. No hesitation in recommending this home to anyone other than we shall want to go again and do not want to find it fully booked!!

Perfection!!

A second outstanding stay in Wayne and Julie's wonderful apartment. Can only reiterate what we said before when we came last October. This apartment has the most outstanding situation on the Mijas broadwalk with amazing views all through the day. We will almost certainly return again. Fantastic setting. Right on the beach

We spent ten nights at the property with our two teenage sons. The view from the apartment is fantastic overlooking the sea. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and is the best equipped property we have stayed in. Good places to eat within about 15 minutes walk along the boardwalk and up to Dona Lola area are Davincis,Devines, and Henleys which serves brilliant fishχps.We managed without a car but having one would make getting shopping in a bit easier although the shopping trolley was a great help.A nice catamaran trip from Marbella to Puerta Banus cost 60 euros for the four of us. All in all a brilliant place to stay and we would have no hesitation in returning. Thanks again to Wayne who was on hand to answer any questions we had before and during the holiday. Outstanding!

This property is simply outstanding. The location is fabulous. The view from the balcony is brilliant and if you fancy the beach, no problem - its right there - only took two minutes to get onto the beach. Also, the pool is also another great place to spend the day sunbathing with the occasional dip to cool off. If you fancy food, this was a 5 minute walk across the boardwalk which is very easy to access. All in all this was one of the best places we have every stayed and the landlords were superb. Always on hand if you needed anything and nothing was too much trouble. I cannot recommend this place enough - getting booking now is my advice!

Wonderful

Just home from 16 days at Puerta del Mar. What a little gem this apartment is. So well equipped and comfortable with a fabulous view to wake up to every morning and the soothing sound of the sea in the background. There is really nothing bad to say about this place. The whole complex is well kept and quiet and is in a really good location between Cabopino and La Cala and close to bars and restaurants, many within walking distance. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and there are comfy beach chairs and parasols in the apartment you can take with you which is great. Just be careful of the sea urchins in the shallow water. Don't know if this is a usual problem but both my husband and I had the misfortune to stand on some of these critters. The spines are not easy to remove so a sturdy pair of beach/sea shoes is a must. We didn't have a car for our stay and really didn't miss it. We used the taxi company recommended by by owners for our airport transfers which cost around £80 return and dropped you right at the door. Some good restaurants in Doña Lola not too far away and La Cala is only a bus or taxi journey away if you are looking a bit more of a buzz. We did stay in and eat on several occasions and as the kitchen is so well equipped this wasn't a chore at all. We would highly recommend this little home from home and wouldn't hesitate to book it any time we decide to return to the area. What can I say about this place.... the apartment is really nice, views are amazing and there are bars, restaurants and beaches all within walking distance. Wayne kept up completely up to date and was on hand for any question we had. Will definitely be booking in to visit again soon.

The Andalucia Region

Costa del Sol has been at the top of European holidaymakers destinations for so long because of its great position in the Med.

With over 320 days of lovely sunshine each year and miles upon miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches, this really is a place to come to relax and enjoy yourselves.

Sitio De Calahonda, Mijas

Calahonda is one of the best-positioned towns on the Costa Del Sol, half way between Fuengirola and Marbella there is more than enough to keep everyone happy. With the lovely old, Spanish fishing village of La Cala de Mijas on one side and Cabopino marina on the other side, you could not be any more central.

Calahonda has some of the best bars and restaurants on this stretch of the Costa del Sol.

From the boardwalk, immediately in front of the apartment you can walk to some fantastic beach bars. Leave Puerto Del Mar by the front gates.
and either turn right or left. If you turn right you will very soon see Royal Beach, home to a fantastic Chiringuito (open March to October) great for food, drinks and atmosphere
, with its Pirate Bar and relaxing music.

Continue to Luna Beach Chiringuito (open all year round), great for seafood/fish, drinks and friendly atmosphere
- Continue to Capobino (part Boardwalk/part walk on the beach), passing two further small Chiringuitos on the way (open March to October). Capobino is a small harbour town with several great restaurants including Albert’s Bar and Grill and La Despensa.


Continue beyond the harbour and it opens out to a further sandy beach and Chiringuito called Andy's Beach bar where you will see water sports and, on a windy day, kite surfers.

If however you turn left along the boardwalk
 from the apartment you will come to Chiringuito El Capricho great for sea food/fish and grilled meats
. Continue behind EL Capricho and you can continue to walk along the sea front/beach, however part of this walk (by Dona Lola property) is only possible at low tide. (The boardwalk is in plan to be completed for this stretch winter 2016/17)

The boardwalk continues beyond Dona Lola and stretches all the way from Riviera to Cala de Mijas. La Cala de Mijas holds wonderful street markets and with over 100 stalls there is something for everyone. Stroll along the boardwalk and have a drink at one of the many beach bars.

The Dona Lola resort is around a 15m stroll or a 2 minute drive from the apartment and a great place for eating out with a huge variety of cuisines to suit all tastes. Have a drink at Oscars (Bar and Tapas) before strolling a few yards to try Da Vinci’s for Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, or Lemon Grass for Thai, or The Spice Lounge if Indian is your choice or La Estancia for a great steak in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The choice is yours.

Across the road from Dona Lola you will find El Zoco, which is a multicultural shopping centre of arabesque architecture. In El Zoco, you will find a number of restaurants, pubs and sports bars of many different nationalities, as well as many other amenities such as shops, supermarkets, a Post Office and a bank with a cash machine.

Try a relaxing drink with views of the Med at the rooftop Bar Boru, which also does excellent breakfasts! Within the courtyard of El Zoco, you will find La Mandragora for International, Spanish and Mediterranean food, El Oliva for international, Spanish and Mediterranean food, China City for Chinese, Vila Paradiso for Italian, Ruta 40 for a great Argentinian steak. Plus others.

The closest shops and supermarket are at Los Cypress which is within walking distance of the apartment. There is a taxi rank there too for the return journey if needed! When leaving the apartment by the main gate head down to the main road and go under the flyover and then left at the roundabout and up the hill where you will find a Lidle and a Super sol supermarket, a bar/cafe, a bank and other general shops.

Our apartment at Puerta Del Mar is also within easy reach of various other resorts and attractions:

Back on the boardwalk, as you continue past the beachside of Dona Lola and rejoin the boardwalk you will come to the newly refurbished and fabulous Max Beach for 5 star food, luxurious large white sun loungers and fantastic ocean views.

Just past Max Beach is the Chiringuito El Juncal at Playa Riviera. A lovely bar and restaurant, right on the beach.

El Oceana Beach Hotel & Restaurant, Mijas Costa, is right on the beach and boasts stunning views, luxurious facilities if you want to feel special for the day.

Fuengirola is central for numerous activities and is 15 mins away by car, from Calahonda. It has 5 miles of sandy beaches, an open air Zoo and Aqua park. Sohail Castle is situated at the West end of the promenade and has a park, which hosts many festivals throughout the year.
