About Ben and Kate

We live in the beautiful little village of Delly End, about 10 minutes drive from Witney in West Oxfordshire. We have a smallholding on which we rear cattle, pigs, sheep and chickens. We also grow our own veg. We have 3 children (in their teens, at school and at Uni), 2 dogs and a couple of cats. We both work from home, but are separate to the barn and while we aim to be there if you need us, we give you space and quietness.

Ben and Kate purchased this barn in 2005

Why Ben and Kate chose Hailey

We've lived in the main farmhouse for over a decade now and recently converted the ramshackle outer barns into a holiday property. We've been careful to retain the character of the barns with all the charm of the Cotswolds stone. The conversions are immaculate; Ben is a builder by profession and believes strongly in combining traditional materials and retaining the character of the original building, while also bringing modern comfort to the barn. It is light, airy, has bi-fold doors which lead out to a terrace, where - on warmer evenings - you can have a barbecue and a glass of wine. The garden looks over to the fields beyond.

What makes this barn unique

Ben and Kate have recently built a swimming pond which will be accessible for their guests at certain times of day. It is totally natural, no chlorine or chemicals. Refreshing and inviting on a warm, summer day.

The location of the farm is perfect for those wanting a quiet retreat where they can walk, ride, bike, read, cook, eat and drink. There are a multitude of very good pubs and restaurants close by, as well as things and places to explore in the Cotswolds, Oxford and Woodstock nearby.

Peaceful, Beautiful, Quality...

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (ages 7-60yrs) had a wonderful time at this gorgeous property in March. Kate and Ben have created a truly special haven with this superb renovation and glorious farmstead. We were fortunate to have outstanding weather which allowed us to wander around the property comfortably. Our children were delighted with the rams, steer, pigs, hens (farm fresh eggs!), horses, owl and jolly boxer pup Hilda. However, had the weather been poor, we would have been equally delighted to hibernate inside! The interior is spacious and immaculate. The decor is elegant and perfectly measured in simplicity and comfort. Beautiful features include the fireplace, giant windows with picture perfect views, quality furnishings throughout, fab kitchen, lux bathrooms and soaring ceilings. Ben and Kate were welcoming and very kind. They were very respectful of our privacy, but we liked them so much we could have shared a meal with them! We wish we had a few more days to indulge in this place of perfect peace. Thanks for everything!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write that review Pippa. We loved having you and your family here and it's great to hear that we have got the balance of things about right! We'd love to see you back here again - perhaps next time in the summer when you can use the swimming pond. Just not warm enough this time round! Warm wishes - and thanks. Kate and Ben

The highlight of our family holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from 13 days in Scotland and England. We ended our holiday with two nights at this lovely property. The kids couldn't get enough of the animals and we loved gathering around the fire each night. The house is very well appointed and there are many nice towns nearby with great dining and shopping. Thanks, Kate and Ben!

The Jenkins Visit

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a fantastic week with family at this outstanding property in a wonderful location. The barn is beautifully appointed and the natural swimming pool was a real bonus given the exceptional weather. We also really enjoyed the company of Kate, Ben & Ivo. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and family and plan to return ourselves. Thank you Kate & Ben.

Owner's Response: We really enjoyed having Val and Mike to stay - with various family members as well. We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit outside and enjoy the evening sun. We would love to have the Jenkins's back again at a later date. They were a pleasure to have as guests. Kate and Ben

The farm was beautiful and well-kept! All of the animals were shy but a delight and well cared for.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! The house was beautiful inside and out, and the decoration was amazing! The kitchen was great and fully functional, and we enjoyed cooking and eating our farm fresh eggs. The three bedrooms and three bathrooms were very helpful for our family of four. We had a fabulous time, and our two daughters age 10 and 14 told us they definitely want to go back. Ben and Kate were the consummate hosts. We cannot wait til we can return.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Turley Farm was exactly as we hoped - set in beautiful countryside with instant access to walks and local villages, yet a relatively short and easy drive from Oxford and London. The property is beautiful, spacious, and the perfect balance of converted farmhouse and luxurious holiday home. The owners were lovely and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I will definitely recommend Turley Farm to friends and family.

Beautiful Barn, surpassed all expectations

  • 5 of 5

Accommodation was lovely with a great kitchen, superb beds and surrounded by beautiful countryside. We enjoyed watching the squirrels harvest nuts from the tree immediately in front of the patio doors. The barn is very conveniently situated for Oxford, Witney, Buford and Wychwood Forest to name but a few. Great lunches were to be had in Swinbrook and Minster Lovell.

Ben and Kate were very welcoming hosts with good pre arrival information, fresh eggs and the woodburning stove ready for lighting.Unusually when provided with key lock information we were greeted on arrival by Kate which made the welcome even more personal. We hope to return soon.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are particularly pleased that you enjoyed the squirrels and country side goings-on! Also that you found us welcoming, but not invasive - a balance that we try hard to get right. Please do come again. And thank you too for leaving the barn so immaculate. Best wishes, Kate Brown
