About the property

4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, rural views. Close to Marazion, Praa Sands, Prussia Cove

Family-friendly, dog-friendly cottage in the middle of beautiful countryside reached via a bumpy, country track (not suitable for cars with modified, lowered suspension). 5-10 minutes drive from numerous beautiful beaches on the South Coast (Praa Sands, Perranuthnoe, Marazion, Kenneggy cove). Dog-walking, mountain-biking, coarse fishing, wildlife and bird-watching on the doorstep. Far-reaching rural views. Enjoy the surf at Praa Sands and Perranuthnoe, admire picturesque St Michaels Mount at Marazion or seek out the secluded, dog-friendly beaches at Prussia Cove. See choughs and Peregrines at Rinsey Head and seals at Godrevy . 15 - 20 minute drive to three miles of Golden Sands at Hayle or take the 15 minute branch line to St Ives and visit the famous Tate Gallery. The house is light and spacious, with plenty of room outside for boards, bikes, wetsuits, buckets and spades. Large garden with swings for the children. Fresh eggs from our chickens will be part of your welcome package, along with bread, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and a delicious cream tea. Two bedrooms with king size beds, one triple room with three singles, one single room , a sofa bed for overflow if necessary and room for a travel cot (provided). The pleasant nearby village of Goldsithney has two charming pubs, a local store and Post Office. Please note: we can offer discounts for two (or more) week stays. Please contact Jenny direct to discuss.

About Jenny Calvert-Corp

I grew up in the St Just and Pendeen area of Cornwall (Poldark country!) and after studying and working in Bristol came back to Cornwall in 2000 to be nearer my parents and to raise a family. My husband is Bristol born but has fallen in love with Cornwall and everything it has to offer. We have both worked in hospitality and have 15 years experience of letting properties. We take pride in the property and holiday experience we offer.

Jenny Calvert-Corp purchased this cottage in 2002

Why Jenny Calvert-Corp chose Saint Hilary

Croft Gothal is a magical, idyllic place. The air is clean and the lack of light pollution mean that on a clear night the stars are simply stunning. It is in the middle of the countryside up a leafy, rural track but near enough to the village and the beach not to feel isolated. There is plenty of spaces for adults and children alike.

What makes this cottage unique

The views are stunning, the garden is large enough to kick a ball around and play on the swings, the kitchen/living area is light and spacious and the lounge and bedrooms are cosy. The 'back field' is perfect for building dens or watching for badgers. The surrounding byways and bridleways are ideal for nature-watching, exploring, dog walking and mountain biking. Star-gazing at night is a must!

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Yes it's off the 'beaten track, but if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing base, but within a very few miles of Cornwalls beautiful beaches and attractions this is the place for you. 5 star property with every thing you could possibly need. Friendly but discrete owners that shows, as the house feels like home. Even bowls and towels for the dog, who loved the spacious garden to run round in. Just wish I could have stayed longer.

Highly recommend. Very spacious and quiet with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We all had a fantastic time at Croft Gothal. The welcome hamper was a delightful gift and the owners were very friendly and responded very promptly during our stay.

The house was very spacious and comfortably accommodated us all (4 adults, 4 children and a toddler). The children loved the outdoor space and there was plenty to keep them entertained in the house.

It was very peaceful and quiet and the views from the kitchen were stunning.

We would all recommend this charming property.

Beautiful rural setting

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was delightful; it was beautifully presented and equipped with good quality items and very comfy beds. The rural setting was magical - to be able to sit in the garden and not hear any traffic noise was lovely. After a day out sightseeing it was a real treat to come back to the tranquility of the cottage. The very generous welcome pack was lovely too.

Lovely house with perfect hosts

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Croft Gothal, which is an excellent holiday house but the icing on the cake is the kindness and attentiveness of Jenny and Des the owners, who could not possibly have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Piping hot water at all times, lovely bed linen, excellently equipped kitchen, fantastic gas BBQ and a badminton net set up for us in the garden all ready to go. All three generations of our family loved it.

wonderful, well-equipped, secluded cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at Croft Gothal. It's quiet and peaceful, it's spacious and really well equipped with everything you could possibly need, the garden is lovely for kids to run around in, and it's handy for beaches and all the sights of west Cornwall. Fantastic place to stay and the owners made us very welcome, many thanks for an excellent holiday!

Great place to holiday

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful cottage tucked away in a lovely setting, peaceful, quiet and spacious inside and out. Luxurious cottage with comfy beds and easy to use shower. Clean well maintained inside and out. All mod cons so easy to use. Our two dogs thought we had moved in, settled and enjoyed every minute. We spent our days on

the beaches and parks and gardens, eating in Dog friendly pubs or dining at the cottage. The owners were helpful and there to advise when needed. Would and have already recommend this first class holiday cottage.
