About the property

Space for ideal 10 people, 2 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges, a landing

The house today has on the ground floor a lovely kitchen diner which can seat up to 10 people, a big lounge with space for at least 6-10 people, another smaller lounge for at least 4 people. Both rooms offer TVs with free satellite reception and DVD players.

Also on the ground floor is a utility room with dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer and an additional sink together with the downstairs toilet shower room.

On the way to the first floor is a door to a little hide-away with two chairs - ideal for the ones amongst you who want a little space to read perhaps.

On the first floor is a very big master bedroom with a four poster bed, another good size double bedroom, a smaller room with two single beds and a landing with more sitting space.

The attic comprises of 2 smaller bedrooms with two single beds each.

On the first floor is a luxurious bathroom with a free standing bath and a huge walk-in shower, all recently installed.

There is parking for 2 vehicles on site and free parking nearby, plus a small outside seating area with table and chairs.

Why Old House Holidays chose Edenbridge

A stunning and quirky medieval timber framed home, originally build in 1468 for Sir Wyllyam Taylour, then Sheriff of London (later Lord Mayor of London). It is said the house had the proportions and ceiling heights (12 foot) of a 'fine London house'. The building also has Jacobean wall paintings re-discovered in the 1960s.

Wonderful building, wonderful stay

We used the house for a team-building event. It had everything that we needed and is absolutely beautiful. It was perfect and I would definitely book it again, and we had a great day

Lovely old building to stay in.

We had a very enjoyable break. Everyone loved the old features of the house and the cosy atmosphere.

It was an easy distance to drive to Biggin Hill airport for my father's 90th birthday celebratory flight.

magical and very interesting

however we were not provided with the code to get through the gate and if a kind neighbor had not rescued us we would have been out all night including the baby

The bedrooms were wonderful especially the 4 poster bed and the cot for the baby. The big bath was like a swimming pool.

Very interesting the wall paintings and produced a lot of conversation about history.

Absolutely gorgeous and fascinating house, in a lovely spot and ideally situated.

Very spacious, excellent quality furniture, comfy beds, cosy sofas, large kitchen full of everything you could need. Huge bathtub! Good parking in secure private car park. Interesting antiques and art everywhere you look. Wide selection of dvds and books. Perfect for a family getaway

Charming with all the mod cons!

This is a beautifully and sensitively renovated house. The modern conveniences blend with the old. We had a family reunion and there was plenty of space for everyone. We loved sitting around the huge kitchen table as well as relaxing together in the lounge where we talked late into the night. The village is quaint but also has everything we needed - supermarkets, pubs and restaurants. This was a great stay and I'd highly recommend this property.

Edenbridge has all amenities needed - supermarkets, pubs, banks, a park and even two railway stations going into London in less than an hour or all across Kent and Surrey. Gatwick Airport is easily accessible by rail.

Attractions nearby are Hever Castle, Winston Churchills home Chartwell House, Chiddingstone National Trust village and castle, Penshurst Place, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Lingfield Park Racecourse, Knole Park in Sevenoaks and there are many others.

There are nice country walks all around the area and fishing in the local river Eden.

Our favourite pub is called 'Queens Arms' on the main road going south towards Cowden.
