Why ISABELLE chose Fayence

Le Mas Des Pierres is situated close to the lively village of Fayence yet on a quiet residential lane not far from local shops, lovely bakery, markets and a good variety of restaurants. For those seeking activities the region is very interesting. From the international recognized luxurious golf and spa complex of Terre Blanche, water sports on the lake of St Cassien, spectacular scenery of the Gorges du Verdon and the gorges de Pennafort, horse riding, tennis, unlimited walking, biking, visiting the perched medieval villages, tasting the numerous Cotes de Provence wines, to the glamour of the beaches, shopping and night life of the Riviera.

What a stunning property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous property. It was even better than the photos suggest.

The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was really well stocked with everything and more you could possibly need for your stay.

It's also a great location for exploring the region. The view from the pool is stunning and so peaceful. It's worth staying here for that alone!

Isabelle is a great hostess, she's always on hand to help out and the property is maintained to an exceptionally high standard.

We are a pretty well travelled group but we could all agree that this property is one of the best we've ever stayed at and we'd rate it as higher than 5 star if we could!

Spotless, Modern, Spacious, Peaceful, Lovely House

  • 5 of 5

The first thing that struck us was that this beautiful house seems bigger than the photos suggest. Uncluttered but with all the comforts of home and more. All the electrical items, ie TV, fridge, cooker are top-of-the-range. We downloaded the Sonos app on our laptop and took advantage of all sorts of music this offered.

The beds were very comfortable and Isabelle, who was exactly how a host should be - very helpful, but never intrusive, changed all the linen and towels and gave the place a clean half way through our two week stay.

The pool was the biggest of any previous gites we've stayed in. It was great to be able to swim properly, rather than perform three strokes to get from one end to the other.

We always choose a gite with an outside room, as eating outside is another joy we can't really do at home. This area adjoins the kitchen, making this nice and easy.

We would have no hesitation recommending this house to friends and relatives, whatsoever.

The house is just a few minutes drive from Fayence, where there is a fantastic Boulangerie and across the road, a supermarket, so fresh bread and restocking provisions is easy.

Unless you're really adventurous, we felt that you never needed to drive for more than 45 minutes to explore the perched villages or the Mediterranean coast.

Our day out in Nice was probably the highlight of our excursions, however, the scenic drives to the little villages and towns such as Mons and Castellane were as exciting.

We had an exceptional meal in Fayence at a restaurant called "La France" which has taken our "Best Meal in France" title, and there has been some stiff competition from all over France.

As natural history fans, we were thrilled at the number of species of butterflies that we saw both in the garden and when we were out and about. I will have to come back again earlier in the year when the wild flowers and Lavender are in flower, to see even more.

One afternoon of rain in our fortnight here, and temperatures ranging between 22 and 27 centigrade. Perfect for us who don't like it too hot.

We had a throughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday.

Thank you Isabelle and Clive.

Perfection in Provence

  • 5 of 5

Attractive villa set on the hillside looking back at Fayence. Party of 7 including 3 children aged 12-14. Owners make you feel very welcome. Underfloor cooling made the stay comfortable. Local villages were attractive and the kids loved the nearby lake (very popular). With only a week stay, it was tough to leave such a beautiful villa and pool for too long! You won't be disappointed.

Fabulous contemporary villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a two week stay at this stunning villa. You could not want for anything better. It has been built and equipped out to an extremely high standard. The interior was spotless.

Isabelle the owner and her husband are very approchable and friendly if you need their advice on anything.

The villa is very private and has stunning views over the village of Fayence. It was lovely to wake up in the mornings and open the shutters and admire the view.

You are not far from a gorgeous lake where you can hire kayaks and paddle boards etc and only a 50 minute drive down to the coast in any direction. We visited Monaco and got a ferry across from Sainte Maxime to the Port of St Tropez.

We cannot wait for our next visit.

Absolutely Fantastic - The Owner is BRILLIANT

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with stunning views of the valley looking out towards Fayence. Isabelle (the owner and fluent in English) is located within walking distance of the house, so were there to be any problems (we never had any) it was reassuring to know that immediate help was at hand. The house is brand new and furnished to an extrememly high standard with everything you could possibly think of to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Upstairs there were 2 x spacious double ensuite rooms and 1 x twin room. Downstairs was a very spacious master bedroom (ensuite shower and bath), living room with massive TV (HDMI Ports and DVD player) and comfortable seating leading to dining table and kitchen. Also downstairs shower room (for twin room) and laundry room. Outside leads to a large dining table for 8 people (covered to protect from the elements) and a decent sized warm swimming pool with sun loungers, comfortable garden seating and a hammock. We went out most days but the highlights for me have to be (1) Seillans (morning coffee in the cool and secluded square followed by a beautiful lunch sat outside at Hotel Deux Rocs - if you get there for 12pm you should be able to get a seat, any later and you need to be booking but if you want to splash out and have a gastronomic extravaganza in beautfiful surroundings then I highy recommend it - the restaurant welcomed our 2 year old daughter) (2) Mons - small hilltop village but has far reaching views and a bar / restaurant overhangs the cliff so if you can get a table outside it's a great place to savour your ice cream / coffee. (3) St Paul de Vence - forget Vence, just drive straight to St Paul de Vence with it's numerous beautiful contemporary art galleries and shops that each offer something truly unique to look at whilst all being housed in a medieval backdrop - beautiful (4) Faynece / Tourettes - 200metres separate the two villages, small but nice to walk around and explore (5) Montauroux - another beautiful small hill top village with some beautiful views of the valley whilst enjoying your coffee (6) Grasse - more of a town than a village and dominated by the fragence theme, plenty of interesting things to see and do. As we were with our 2 year old daughter we were a little restricted in the things we could do, however, looking at the local area there seems to be more than enough to keep even the most active of teenagers interested (water sports lake about 15 minutes drive away). A brilliant holiday.
