Far Helks sleeps four guests in three bedrooms and is a semi-detached luxurious farmhouse located in a tranquil position, affording stunning views up Dentdale and beyond to Rise Hill. The Farmhouse sits at the end of a private road under a mile from Dent village.

Accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

Living room with lovely wood burning stove, sumptuous seating, television, DVD player and Hi-Fi.

Kitchen/diner which has underfloor heating, electric oven/hob, dishwasher, microwave, table and chairs.

First floor

South facing double bedroom.

Two single bedrooms (one which is also south facing and affords a sunny aspect).

Family bathroom with bath, separate shower , WC and wash basin.

Outside: There is lots of space outside with fantastic views and plenty of parking on the drive. Secure bike storage for those who want to bring their bikes and explore the area.

Additional information: Bed linen, central heating, towels, Wi-Fi internet access and electricity are included in the price along with a welcome tray. One dog is welcome. No Smoking. Short breaks available throughout the year.

Location

When you visit Dentdale you will find yourself immersed in stunning scenery, natural beauty, deep heritage and the culture of a Dales community that has over many years attracted painters, poets and musicians. Dentdale provides the ideal place to escape the pressures of everyday life and is perfectly placed in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, on the edge of Cumbria, providing a convenient base for visiting no only the many attractions of The Yorkshire Dales National Park, but also the Lake District National Park with Windermere less than 25 miles away.

Here you can relax and unwind amongst breath taking scenery; spend your days strolling through rolling countryside, enjoying riverside walks, or exploring the towns and hills in the nearby Dales and Lakes - every day escaping the crowds to return back to your own little corner of peace and tranquility.

There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the area which is a haven for walkers where stunning countryside and wildlife abound. A vast array of footpaths criss cross the landscape allowing you to explore the area including the Heritage Trail and intriguing Flintergill. Alternatively, take a more sedate stroll alongside the River Dee. Cycling is another popular pursuit with pretty country lanes for a leisurely ride and off-road tracks providing an excellent way of experiencing the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and also the Pennine Cycleways which call be accessed directly via Dentdale village.

The Settle-Carlisle Railway passes through Dentdale (stopping at its station which is the highest in England!) and is one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world. You can take a train to Carlisle or Leeds for a great day out and sit back and enjoy the stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales and Pennines on your way.

Dent Village has a Heritage Centre which reveals the working lives of the Dale's people since the 16th Century and the Meditation Centre which is an ideal place for quiet contemplation. The village also has three pubs and two cafes offering the opportunity to enjoy a meal out or pint of local ale at the end of a long walk!

With wonderful walking, spectacular scenery and so many places within easy reach both within the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria, you are sure to want to return time and time again to this peaceful paradise.
