About the property

3 km from Beaulieu Sur Dordogne with 10x4 meter heated pool and air conditioning

Fully booked for July and August 2018!. Availability for April, May,June and September!

Sitting high above Beaulieu-Sur-Dordogne on the edge of a little hamlet.

The heated pool measures 10m by 4m. The secluded poolside area, like the house, faces south-south west, makes it a very effective sun trap.

Beautiful terraced gardens to explore with lavender, roses, jasmine, fruit trees and shaded woodland pathways.

The house offers 3 bedrooms for 6 guests. With a cot and camp bed available.

The apartment can be rented with the house if you require the added space for an additional 4 guests. The apartment is not rented out separately to other guests.

The house is on two levels with an open plan kitchen/living area, family bathroom, separate WC and master double bedroom on the first floor. The games room, second large family shower room, second double room and twin room are accessed by a staircase to ground level. This leads out onto a lower covered shaded area with children's swings.

The apartment has a private entrance to the right of the house, this has a kitchenette/ living space with shower room, separate WC, a double bedroom and twin bedroom.

Both the house and the apartment have Air conditioning.

The Heated pool sits below the house with the beautiful gardens.

A fantastic space for group of friends or families to explore.


The apartment per week in High rate is £300. Medium rate is £200 and Low rate is £150. The pool is open from the beginning of May to the end September.

About The Owner

We live in the Isle of Man and have had many happy holidays with our children in this house. They are now past having holidays with us, so we are now renting the house to other holidaymakers.

Why The Owner chose Altillac

A south-south-west facing, roofed terrace in a Perigordian style that overlooks the Dordogne valley with Chateau Castelnau in the mid-distance to the bastide of Loubressac high on the hill near the far horizon. To sit on the terrace watching the sun go down is a real pleasure.

Dès que vous arrivez, après avoir monté la petite route sinueuse vous êtes attiré sur la terrasse par le grand panorama, large, profond, vraiment magnifique. Vous oubliez la fatigue du voyage et n'avez qu'une hâte c'est de plonger dans cette belle piscine qui vous attire. Avec mes enfants et petits enfants étions 10 mais grâce aux 3 niveaux nous étions très confortablement installés. La maison est très bien équipée (cuisine jeux literie) et l'accueil de Caroline en Français est super top !

L'entretien de la piscine (tjrs à 26 °)est parfait également, il ne vous plus qu'à visiter les beaux villages grottes châteaux environnants

Allez y vous ne le regretterez pas!

Stunning, the views are incredible.

We had an amazing holiday, relaxing, peaceful, on the doorstep to a picture postcard village. The kids (teenagers) enjoyed the pool, the games room offered a welcome relief from the heat, with plenty of space for peace and quiet. The facilities were great and offered everything we needed and more. Would certainly recommend this to any family. You do need a car to get around.

Beautiful location and fantastic pool area

The house, pool and garden have everything you need and are clean and well looked after. The TV (it was the Olympics!) games, books and table tennis were a welcome escape from the heat of the afternoon sun. The weather was fantastic so we spent most of our time around the pool although we did have one day canoeing on the Dordogne which was fabulous. It's not too hot at night but having the aircon did come in useful a couple of times. The house is a bit off the beaten track but we were sent excellent directions by Caroline and found it without any problems. It was nice to meet Caroline who was really helpful before and during our stay and be able to ask any questions about the area and the property. We would recommend the take away pizzas from near the square in Beaulieu and also the fantastic Crepe shop there. A really good place for a family or group holiday that we would definitely recommend!

Lovely Location, great holiday

We stayed with friends over the summer and the house was perfect with lots of space for everyone. It has a fantastic hillside position which offers lovely views. Most meals were eaten outside on the balcony. The pool was great with lots of space to sit and read. I would highly recommend this house. We hired a car as the house is is a perfect position to explore the surrounding area. The town nearby has all amenities you need and has a gorgeous riverside location. There are watersports available such as kayaking, which we did!

Lovely place, loads to do

We stayed here last summer and had a lovely holiday. David and Caroline were very welcoming and full of local top tips.

We stayed as a group of 8 friends and we all had plently of space.

The swimming pool is lovely. A beautiful view from your lilo or sun lounger and very private. The sun terraces are also a great place for a glass of wine or to read a book. As they wrap round the house you can choice sun/shade all day.

There is loads to do in the area, we especially enjoyed the canoeing down the river (watch out its cold) and Rocamador.

Loads of great restaurants in the local village and Port de Gagnac(the one on the left) and The Flot Blue by the river in Beaulieu were both very good.

This is probably not the house for you if you dont like steps as it is on a steep hill (there are 2 sets to the pool) but that is why you have that great view and privacy!

We would definately stay again and we have already recommended it to friends.

Fantastic Family Holiday

What an amazing property! We had such a lovely holiday here back in June. It was everything the property described and more. Caroline and David were very welcoming with plenty of information about the property and the surrounding area, The views from the house were stunning, especially first thing in the morning with breakfast on the veranda. The pool was a great bonus especially on the super hot summer days. Beaulieu, the local town is a beautiful typically French town, with a great array of restaurants to dine out in. The Veloute is especially good. Definitely 5 stars, we will come here again.

Flights are available from London to Brive (Cityjet) June-September and Manchester to Brive from May.

The nearest two towns, both within 10 minutes are Beaulieu-Sur-Dordogne one of the most beautiful unspoilt medieval villages in France with 14th and 15th century houses. Here the dordogne provides fishing, canoeing, cycling, swimming and tennis. Bretenoux with a wonderful fresh produce market, busy bars, local produce shops and a large supermarkets. Location! Location!

You can relax and do very little or do a lot. It is situated so well, rural but within easy access of everything that you will need to enjoy a French Holiday. Set in a beautiful medieval village with good amenities. Perfect for keen walkers or cyclists through the rolling hills and vine yards. There are so many sights to see and places to visit. Colonges La Rouge, Rocamadore, Castelnau Bretenoux an ancient fortress castle. Carenac, Laubressac, Autoire and Chateau de Montal (lovely golf Course) a remarkable renaissance near Bretenoux with museums of tapestries and paintings!
