The Georgian Apartment is a large Georgian 2 storey period apartment in the southern coastal town of Gosport, England, only a short 4 minute ferry ride to Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays, which is a fabulous mixture of new and old buildings forming a wonderful cosmopolitan quayside complex with over 90 designer retail outlets, plus 30 odd cafés, restaurants and bars all sat on the harbour entrance.

The apartment is large and spacious, with period Georgian features and modern kitchen and bathrooms and is only a few minutes walk from the harbour entrance, nearby marinas, local park and open spaces.

The apartment has been refurbished over the years to a good 4* star standard with a modern kitchen, bathroom and separate shower room.

There are 2 beautifully sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a generous sized lounge, a spacious kitchen and a separate laundry room. The apartment also benefits from 2 allocated parking spaces which is a rarity to find in the centre of town.

The large 1st floor south facing lounge has 4 picture windows overlooking a small paved square in front of the town hall/library with 2 large leather settees which can convert into double beds for additional guests if required.

The kitchen is well fitted with modern oak style units, practical laminate tiled flooring, modern worktops, a large stainless steel range style cooker, dishwasher, microwave, cafetiere and all other essential mod cons.

Off the hallway is a modern shower room with corner shower, toilet and wash hand basin and a splendid wide Georgian staircase leads to the second floor with a generous sized landing with seating to enjoy a good read away from anyone wishing to watch the TV downstairs within the lounge.

The 2nd floor master bedroom is another large south facing room with 4 large picture windows accommodating a large 5ft king-size double bed which can split to create 2 singles, an antique wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinet.

The second bedroom accommodates another large 5ft king-size double bed which can spilt to create 2 singles, a modern solid wood wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet with both bedrooms having fresh, crisp white cotton linen.

The main bathroom has a splendid roll top bath with shower over, toilet, wash hand basin and vinyl flooring. Crisp white towels are provided for each guest and are laid out on beds prior to your arrival.

Our prices are for up to 4 people over 2 bedrooms plus we can accommodate additional guests within the apartment if required on 2 double bed settees within the lounge at an additional charge of £25 per person per week/part week or £25 per set of additional bedding requested.

All linen and towels are provided and are changed weekly with a mid week maid service available on request. Child cots, highchairs and stair-gates also available at no extra cost. (If cots are provided guests are asked to please bring their own child bedding).

Gunwharf Quays also has over 30 waterfront cafes/bars/bistros and restaurants sat right on the quayside on the harbour mouth where you can sit and watch the comings and goings on in the harbour and if you wish to stay on late there is a late night ferry to bring you home.

A great location

We have rented many holiday "cottages" and found Complete Holiday Homes most efficient. On arrival we were greeted by the owner and given a tour of the property. This was most unusual but very helpful. We found the property to be very pleasant and comfortable and enjoyed our fortnight's stay very much. On site parking was extremely useful.

The location is excellent for visiting Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as you can walk to the ferry which takes you to the gate. There is a great deal to see both in the Dockyard and at other museums nearby which took us (OAPs) 7 days. We also visited 2 castles, 2 National Trust houses, an abbey and a cathedral before returning home for a rest!

The apartment has been modernised to a good 4* star standard with beautiful decoration and tasteful furnishings throughout. The property is fully self catering but catered options are available on request and with local pubs and restaurants serving good food within a 5 minute walk you have a great choice to eat in or out. If dining out is your choice we have some fine local restaurants with fantastic coastal views or The Lightship, (a converted lightship actually sat in the water on the harbour entrance within a few minutes walk). Gunwharf Quays also has over 30 waterfront cafes/bars/bistros and restaurants sat right on the quayside on the harbour mouth where you can sit and watch the comings and goings on in the harbour and if you wish to stay on late there is a late night ferry to bring you home to Gosport up to 4am.

Outside:

The property is ideally positioned for walks along the foreshore or access into town and the short ferry ride from Gosport lands in Portsmouth Harbour and Gunwharf Quays which is home to the Spinnaker Tower from where you can stand on its splendid viewing platforms and look out over the water to The Isle of Wight and back inland as far as the eye can see.

All linen & towels are provided and are changed weekly with a mid week maid service available on request. Child cots and high chairs are also available at no extra cost. (If cots are provided guests are asked to bring their own child’s bedding please).

Additional guests over the party size of 4 (max of 2 additional guests) are charged at £25 per head per week/part week, payable 90 days prior to arrival.

25% of rental to be paid at point of booking and the remaining 75% to be paid 45 days prior to arrival.

Deposit refunded within 7 days subject to no significant damages or excess cleaning.

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
