About Mike and Juliet Warburton

Although we bought Rudel in 2003, we have lived in France since 2013 and as our home, we have completely renovated Villa Rudel to provide a stylish and comfortable place to stay, rather than just your average rental holiday home

We love this region and believe it is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of France. We are now taking the opportunity to rent our home out during the summer months to enable us to explore more of France and enable others to enjoy both the house and the stunning surrounding area

With 3 kids (now grown up) we have had many villa holidays over the years and we believe we understand what works well in making a holiday special and have used this experience to develop Rudel into an exceptional luxury holiday villa with plenty of outside space

We hope you will love Villa Rudel and the surrounding area as much as we do and have a fantastic holiday that you remember for a long time

Why Mike and Juliet Warburton chose Tarn

Cool and comfortable bedrooms where you can all get a good nights sleep

Heatwave? not a problem at Villa Rudel with air conditioning in all the bedrooms

Plenty of en-suite bathrooms so there isn't a queue for the shower after a hard day by the pool

Lots of space and privacy so you can have fun without worrying that you might disturb someone

A large private pool with plenty of comfortable sun loungers, solar heated shower, pool inflatables and seating in the sun or shade

2 outside terraces to eat al fresco or gaze at the clear, starry skies

Plenty of things to do at Rudel such as table tennis, darts, badminton, petanque, football, a Nintendo Wii, Satellite English TV and a range of DVDs and books

Guides and suggestions for activities outside of Villa Rudel including walks and trips tried and tested by us and our family and friends

Beautiful bastide villages nearby, many of which are in France's top 100 most beautiful villages

What makes this villa unique

Very tranquil yet close to great local amenities

Set in beautiful countryside with lots of local wildlife and views from different parts of the house and gardens

The house and outside areas are very spacious and set on a number of different levels so even when Rudel is fully occupied you have space to be on your own if you want to

Fantastic mod cons in the house and outside to keep you busy whatever the weather

Lovely walks from the house without the need for a car or bike

A market to explore everyday of the week

Guestbook comments from the owner

"Fantastic house - the best house we have visited in 25 years visiting France! Sympathetically refurbished. We loved the spaces inside and outside the house - the different areas to sit outside, providing shade when needed were perfect. Fabulous pool and gazebo, lovely terraced landscaping. We were a party of 3 generations and everyone was very happy. The most striking aspect is the thoughtfulness of the hosts - from the welcome pack to the mosquito plugs to basic kitchen supplies. Idyllic - already planning our next visit! "

Tranquil yet lots of space and facilities to have fun and play. The large pool is completely secluded and surrounded by woodland to ensure that you can make as much noise as you want without disturbing anyone. The only noise you can hear at Rudel is from the local deer, other wildlife and birds. At night look out for owls and be amazed at the clear and starry skies. Although tranquil it is close to great amenities and places to see and things to do.

Stylish stunning gem of a villa.

  • 5 of 5

Villa Rudel has something for everyone no matter how old you are. The owners have thought of everything so you can relax knowing that your kids are having fun at all times leaving you time to socialise in the beautiful communal areas or find a space to be alone and really unwind.

The house boasts 4 very cool bedrooms which are all en suite. Everything works and you can't fail to have a good nights sleep. The lounge and kitchen have everything you need and there are very clear instructions to make sure everything works.

Outside are two sunny or shady tables to eat and the BBQ is a design triumph (I have already ordered one). Perhaps our favourite area was the pool located slightly above the house with a great Ibiza style chill out zone and lots of sun beds to relax on. The pool is a great size for keeping fit or playing games with the kids - and it felt very safe. Just a perfect focal point for families to enjoy their time here. There are also bikes, a table tennis table, darts and a gym!

We really appreciated the effort the owners have made to make a home from home which feels really contemporary and comfortable. The decor is subtle, sublime and absolutely spotless. The attention to detail is better than a posh hotel without any of the pretentiousness.

What was also great was the very generous welcome pack of locally sourced goodies which were delicious. There is also lots of very useful information about where to go and what to do. The kayaking is a must as well as a tour of nearby Cordes Sur Ciel.

Villa Rudel is without a doubt the best villa we have ever stayed in and can't wait to go back. A total joy.

Fantastic venue for a family holiday. Beautiful house - really well equipped with lovely pool and great outdoor facilities - in a stunning part of France (gorgeous countryside, not too touristy). Lots to do at Rudel and further afield, plus plenty of shops and restaurants within half an hour's drive. No complaints!
