About the property

Gîte d'Artige - 3 double/twin bedrooms, each with its own en-suite

Renovated from an old barn, the gîte offers extremely spacious accommodation. With exposed beams, tiled floor and a light, airy feel throughout, the gîte has been finished to a high standard with all the equipment you would expect to find in a holiday rental of this quality.

The downstairs area is open-plan. There is a modern fitted kitchen with range cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and a large central island unit. The dining table seats 6 comfortably and a high chair can be provided upon request.

Three large, 3-seater sofas provide a comfortable seating area. There is Freesat (English) television, Wi-Fi, a DVD player and a range of DVDs, as well as a selection of books and board games.

Upstairs there are three double/twin bedrooms, to which a cot can be added if required. Each of the bedrooms benefits from its own en-suite, one of which has a bath as well as a shower.

In the enclosed garden adjoining the gîte, there is a 9m x 4.5m solar-heated swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests. A BBQ and 2 terraces provide ideal areas for al fresco dining. Note: The garden (to the side and rear of the gîte) will be fenced by next summer but this is not shown in the current photos.

Underfloor heating and a large wood-burning stove downstairs, together with radiators upstairs, make winter/spring breaks warm and cosy.

Beautiful and charming Gite with a modern finish

  • 5 of 5

This Gite is finished and maintained to the highest standard, it was spotless clean and furnished with everything you could need. It is spacious and really confortable. The star attraction was the heated pool which was 30deg every day and we spent hours every day swimming, playing and relaxing at the pool. There is a great wild park a short drive away where we hired bikes to cycle around and see the animals. There are several towns close by which offer good food and shopping and the river through Saint Savin is a great place for a picnic. The host are very welcoming and available if required but dont intrude and the Gite and pool are very private. I would highly recommend this Gite for a relaxing holiday

We had a fabulous time at this superb gite, everything you could wish for and much more. The views are amazing, the facilities in the gite are first class. And finally, the owners were extremely welcoming and friendly.

Beautifully renovated, with all the mod cons

  • 5 of 5

The property was very easy to find, close enought to decent amenities but far enough away to get peace and quiet. The gite has been tastefully renovated and was very comfortable. Both Sue and Adrian are gret hosts - there when you need them but not invasive at all. The added bonus of a private pool, was a real selling point to us and it did not disappoint!!!! Glorious weather meant that we used it a lot, including night time swims! Thoroughly recommend staying here with or without children (ours are 17 & 14, and had enough to entertain them). We didn't really eat out except when we went on day visits but that was in part due to having such good facilities at the Gite - ample fridge space meant it was easy to stock up on food and dine in. Definitely worth a visit.

A Property that was just as good as advertised.

  • 5 of 5

Our first visit to Gite d'Artige and we had a really good experience there. The gite was immaculate in layout and presentation, and extremely well equipped. It is a very spacious property both internally and externally, with lots of room for relaxing, dining and just chilling. The bedrooms again are spacious with excellent en suite facilities. The outside area is complimented by having both a super pool and sunbathing facilities.

The gite is well situated for exploring the many attractions in the region, and our highlights were visiting the Cite Medieval within the town of Chauvigny and eating delicious galettes in the square, exploring the town of Angles sur anglin and having a great dinner at Le Lion D'or restaurant in Chauvigny itself.

Sue and Adrian were great hosts, and to use a well worn but true cliche, "they were there if needed but discreetly" and very friendly.

All in all this gite was a great find for us and would suit a family or group of people equally well, and one we would definitely not hesitate to revisit.

Thanks to Sue and Adrian, hope to see you again soon.

Beautiful Gite in Heart of France

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely holiday in Gite D'Artige. It is a beautiful and spacious gite that is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The Gite is in the heart of the countryside and there is plenty of wildlife, yet 5 minutes from St. Savin which is a lovely town with supermarket, cashpoint, restaurants etc. There is plenty to do in the area, we enjoyed walking in Le Brenne national park, and the Geants Du Ciel birds of prey display in Chauvigny is very impressive. We hoped to go on the velo rail in Chauvigny but rain stopped play! We also visited Angle sur L'Anglin and had a lovely meal there. Thanks Sue & Adrian for being great hosts and looking after us during our stay.
