A little gem hidden away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at David and Anne's apartment at the end of July and all we can say is that we had a great time. Everything you need for a break is on the doorstep and the apartment is very well appointed, clean, and perfectly presented.

Everything you need is there and is perfect for a small family or two couples to have a great holiday in Devon.

I imagine it can be a little difficult to find, but as long as you follow David's instructions, everything is fine

we enjoyed our stay, many thanks

A clean, welcoming and well appointed apartment set in stunning grounds very close to Dartmouth.

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sheplegh Court. The apartment was well furnished and clean, overlooking a central courtyard. The owners provided great directions and responded immediately and were very friendly. As for Sheplegh Court itself, wow.. Stunning grounds, quirky historical building, bats, rabbits, plunge pool and outdoor swimming pool. Simply lovely. Would recommend to people who love nature, peace and quiet and to get out and about exploring the local area. Several of the apartments have permanent residents so would suit people who are respectful and mindful of this. Must have car to make the most of the local area. Hoping to return!

Very nice place. All amenities & nice extras on sites e.g. tennis court and pool. Good for touring.

Well appointed apartment. Light and airy. Comfortable beds. Beautiful grounds. Very quiet. On-site amenities great – we played as much tennis as we could. Good centre for touring. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Lovely apartment. Shame about the weather.

  • 3 of 5

Very well appointed apartment in exceptional surroundings but being 6 ft 4ins , I found the upstairs bedroom and ensuite very difficult due to the sloping ceilings.

Additionally, the markings have all been rubbed off the cooker controls so I had to find the user manual on google before we could use it.

The weather was atrocious for June so we didn't see Devon at its best.

Owner's Response: Glad that you found the apartment and surroundings lovely. I am sorry that the weather was not so good. Thank you for pointing out the issue with the cooker controls. When we are next down in a couple of weeks we will print out the instructions for future guests. We hope that next time you visit Devon the sun shines for you.

Great place for a break

The house is impressive and our apartment was very good, clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Our German visitors were very impressed as were we. Will definitely recommend to our friends and will visit again.

Places to go and things to do

Blackpool Sands - set in a sheltered bay surrounded by evergreens and pines is one of South Devon's most beautiful natural treasures. An award-winning privately managed family beach with turquoise blue sea giving it an almost Mediterranean feel.

Dartmouth - with its narrow streets, long flights of steps, overhanging medieval houses and old quays is well worth a visit.

Woodlands Family Theme Park - provides a whole day of variety for all ages. One inclusive admission price to the family attraction includes incredible indoor centres, outdoor adventures, Zoo, Big Fun Farm and Falconry Centre.

Greenaway House - Agatha Christies' holiday home at owned by the National Trust and reached by foot ferry from Dittisham (which is worth a visit on its own).

Totnes - the champion of the independent shop, is a very special and unique market town in the heart of beautiful South Devon

Beaches - there are many lovely sandy beaches such as Bantham (good for surfing), Bigbury, Thurlestone and our favourite Soar Mill Cove. The SW Coastal Path is close by with many breathtaking walks to do.
