About the property

Cottage In Braunton, Nr. Croyde, North Devon, England - Beautifully Furnished

Kittiwake Cottage is a gorgeous, contemporary barn conversion, tastefully decorated with antique character furniture. Comfortably sleeping up to four in two bedrooms, it is the perfect place to bring the family or enjoy a romantic break.

Braunton is an ideal location if you want to explore North Devon's beaches. Saunton Sands is just a 5 minute drive away and the famous surfing beach, Croyde is just a 10 minute drive.

Kittiwake has a lovely light and airy feel due to it's white and blue colour palette that is maintained throughout the whole cottage. The kitchen, living area and dining area are all open plan which also gives a modern contemporary feel. The living room is complete with a comfy sofa and armchair, as well as double doors opening out onto a Juliette balcony for those warm summer months. In the colder months a wood-stove can be lit for a cosy night in. The kitchen is well equipped for all of you needs and it also features a Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary pods. The dining area is perfect for every occasion, seating up to four on quirky hand painted chairs. In the master bedroom you will find a beautiful antique French double bed for a peaceful night sleep along with an adjoined, tasteful en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is home to two zip and link beds, making it flexible to your needs - these can be made up as either a double or two singles. This second bedroom also has an en-suite shower room.

To the front of Kittiwake Cottage is a terraced courtyard with a pretty French style table and chairs to enjoy alfresco meals next to the colourful flowers and plants. A larger garden is discover past the terrace and features a lovely apple orchard and numerous areas for peaceful picnics.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage which is first class. The ensuite shower rooms are fantastic.

The only things lacking were perhaps a microwave (for our porridge in the morning) and a vacuum cleaner, as we always like to ensure the accommodation is clean and tidy when we leave, especially with a dog.

Thank you for the very generous welcome pack, it was greatly appreciated.

The location is excellent, within a very short walking distance of the village shops and takeaways.

Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage for a small family

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is small downstairs but has everything required. I loved the bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms which were beautifully decorated, with tranquil colours and beautiful linens. The only thing that perhaps could have been improved was the outhouses and garden which really need some TLC. I would then give the property 5 stars. Overall we had a great stay and the cottage is in a great location for day trips and with Braunton's lovely shops and restaurants right on the doorstep.

Wow - what a find !!!

  • 5 of 5

Our first impressions were of a perfectly formed but bijou cottage . Kittiwake is situated in a quiet street just off the main road in Braunton. The cottage is so stylish and has every comfort provided - from a lovely welcome hamper to beautiful bedding and towels . The real delight is the garden which is huge and runs down to a river . We were really lucky with the weather and spent most days on the beach so coming home to kittiwake was like coming home to a comfortable hotel suite ! Tony is very accommodating and provides a beautiful cottage which we would love to return to. Thank you for a lovely place to stay !

A beautiful clean warm cottage. Will return.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was clean warm and beautiful. A lovely welcome pack was left for us. The garden was a huge bonus.

There are an abundance of nice pubs and plenty of places to eat in the lovely town of Braunton.

Saunton is a fabulous beach which allows dogs all year round.

I would recommend the Braunton area to anybody and particularly Kittiwake cottage. We didn't see the owners which is just how it should be in my opinion though I'm sure they were available if needed.

We arrived after a longish journey to a very welcome, welcome basket including treats for our dog. The cottage was spotless, tastefully decorated with a combination of shabby chic and modern. Taking into consideration our apprehension about the security of the vast garden for the dog, a very thoughtful note was left for us explaining measures had been put into place in respect of this to alleviate any worries we may have had by securing the gates for us. The garden was beautiful, an array of colours of trees and plants, mowed lawns, birdsong with the wonderful stream at the end. The patio was roomy, garden furniture was welcome and this was a lovely suntrap. Braunton was an ideal location, with good amenities, dog friendly places and lovely people. The location provided a perfect base to nearby beaches at Saunton Sands, Croyde bay, Woolacombe and lovely walks at Crows point and Baggy Point. Bude was a short journey away with a scenic ride back via Appledore and Instow. The Royal Bengal at the end of the street was excellent for takeaway, Squires for fish and chips and the nearby Aggi public house for a Sunday Carvery. The Hands On clinic and its treatments was a very welcome indulgence. Netflix was a bonus as although we spent time in the evening reading we did take advantage of watching a couple of films during the week. Would definately recommend this cottage to others and would certainly be looking for a return visit. Having had a number of cottage holidays over the years as dog owners, I would say by far this has been the best. Excellent service and excellent value. Thank-you !!!!

Welcoming, cosy and perfectly located!

  • 4 of 5

After an arduous journey we were welcomed to Kittiwake cottage with a very thoughtful hamper which included all the necessities for the following morning's breakfast plus a few naughty treats! The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped with pretty much everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The only reason i haven't given 5 stars is because the garden could be so much better. I do have a feeling that the owners might be working on that though! The location was great as it was merely a (beautiful) 10 minuted drive to Croyde beach, less to Saunton Sands! Being in the town also mean we could access all the local amenities easily. We really enjoyed our stay....thank you.
