Brilliant Property

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely house with plenty of space. We had 6 adults, three young children and two babies. Everything we needed was there. It was very clean. It has a good view from the outside dining table.

Lovely property with fantastic touches all with seaside theme. Spacious but cosy too.

  • 5 of 5

Our family(7 adults and one 2 year old) have just visited Reef Point. The house has stunning views down to Southsands. We spent many happy hours sitting on the balcony/ terrace just relaxing with drink in hand. We loved all the quirky sea themed accessories in the house. The beds were super comfy so we have returned quite chilled! I have never stayed in a house which is so well equipped. Every little thing has been well thought out. We spent ages looking at the pictures on the walls-an amazing collection. The large kitchen one sparked some debate as we all read something different into it. Reef Point is on a hill slightly out of Salcombe central. The walk down into town is fine, but uphill is very steep. We made the boys do the walk and the girls took the car with 87 year old granny. We parked with no problem in the boat park then just walked in along Island street. We managed to stay during Regatta week which was fun and although busy was bustling but not too crowded. We ate out 3 nights of our 7 night stay. We went to The Winking Prawn for my daughter's birthday. It was brilliant. Her little boy was so well behaved and spent the evening eating and colouring. My daughter was 32, but still remembers visiting the WP when she was a child as did both her brothers now in their 20's. We took the little ferry over to East Portlemouth, even granny did it. The girls also had lunch at the Salcombe Harbour Hotel-yummy!! The boys managed 2 nights in Salcombe watching a bit of footie and sampling the beers. We truly love it here. Salcombe is a very special place where everybody is happy. One of the nicest things to see is the children having a brilliant time doing proper kiddie stuff, crabbing, jumping off the harbour wall and eating Salcombe Dairy ice creams! We love Northsands beach. It's probably the nearest to Reef Point. You can park on the road and walk down or park in the car park opposite the beach. You do need to watch the tides. Our grandson spent all day running back and forth to the sea, and building his own splash pool with the help of his grandparents who were more exhausted than him! We can't wait to come back whenever that may be. All the family agree-an amazing holiday. Thankyou.

Absolutely brilliant house. 2 families loads of space

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Reef Point in July 2017. The house is absolutely beautiful. Kept to a fantastic standard from the garden furniture, to the bbq to the cleanliness. It had all the mod cons that we could have asked for. We had four children under 5 and the house was absolutely perfect. We changed the occupants to 8 adults half way through the week and it was even more perfect as the location is quite hilly for little ones to walk into Salcombe or the the beach.

All the rooms are of a great size and the master suite is just stunning. The views are breathtaking as is the garden. The kitchen was fully equipped and the lounge and play areas were huge for the kids. Even with 8 adults at no point did we feel cramp. We were lucky with the weather.

Alex, the owner, was an absolute gent throughout and sorted any issues we had with speed and a smile. Thanks for making our holiday absolutely fabulous.

There were a couple of incredibly minor points. To make it an even more perfect stay (if it is possible) it would have been nice to have some basic toiletries e.g shower gel and some shampoo or soap in the bathrooms, as we didn't bring any of our own (we did buy some!). The only other thing we could think of to improve it would be an umbrella for the table on the balcony. If it is super sunny we found the kids couldn't sit out there for too long as it got the sun all day and we really needed some shelter!

The last point for those with small children (under 5's), it is a very steep walk to and from Salcombe and our 3 and 4 year old were ok going down but didn't manage it back up. Therefore location was beautiful but about 15 min walk from Salcombe. We ended up pacing back up the hill, getting the car and picking the little ones up from town. No great shakes but something to consider.

We will come again thats for sure. A beautiful house, in a beautiful village with beautiful beaches. What more could we ask for.

Thanks again.

Lovely home with stunning views

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at Reef Point. The property was gorgeous and lived up to our expectations. We found it helpful to have the bedrooms spread over 3 floors but were slightly disappointed that there was no hanging space in the bedroom / playroom and it was impossible to walk around the bed.

However these were minor things . We liked Salcombe very much and our stay was helped by the good weather. Alex the owner was very helpful and I would certainly recommend a stay at this lovely home.

The perfect home in the perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This comfortable, professionally decorated, well furnished and equipped home set on a cliff has a spectacular view of the bay from all rooms on all three floors. The house has a nice flow from kitchen to dining room to living room. It definitely lived up to the photographs and description on its website. It is just a few miles' drive to some of the best coastal walking in Devon and less than an hour's drive from Dartmoor. It is also handy to Kingsbridge, the "capital" of South Hams. The town of Salcombe in which it is situated is one of the most sophisticated, charming and complete towns of the many through which we drove in Devon on our travels, with excellent butcher, baker, wine store and clothing boutiques. It has several excellent restaurants. The house is well administered and the house manager is extremely helpful. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and truly regretted having to leave.
