About Ashlene

I am a happy friendly person, who loves people , travel and animals, I worked as Management development trainer within the travel industry for many years where my job took me to some of the most amazing places in the world, where I was lucky enough to meet some extaordinary fabulous people , who I now call friends, however I retired in 2008, two years after we purchased our home in tenerife and love returning regularly to beautiful Los Gigantes. My family have spent some very happy times here and my children now return with their children.

Ashlene purchased this apartment in 2006

Why Ashlene chose South Tenerife

After visiting many places around the world and yet spending many holidays in tenerife we decided that the place we love returning to is Los Gigantes so it made sense to purchase in that area (and because my now grown up children had so many happy holiday memories from "LG" so they put some pressure on too)

We chose this apartment quite simply because of its position, the swimming pool and surrounding terrace with all day sunshine, even in the winter months,

the lift ,the quality of the apartment, but most of all the spectacular views.

What makes this apartment unique

Once I had seen the views from the terrace I was sold on this property and still when I sit on the terrace eating breakfast, " I think to myself what a wonderful world"

Ideal place for a relaxing holiday

The apartment was first class, lovely decor, furnishings well equipped kitchen and lovely bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and has plenty of wardrobe space too. The private balcony is a bonus when you've had enough of the pool or want to be close to the apartment. Fantastic views of the cliffs and marina add to this the sound of the waves, it makes it so relaxing. The owner, Ashlene, was a a delight to deal with and made it easy to book etc, any questions were swiftly answered too. There's a little walk up the hill to get there but all helps walk off the food and drink from the local restaurants and bars. Can't wait to go back. All in all 10/10!!

Comfortable and relaxed

The property was clean, comfortable and adequate for two people. Ideally situated with a nice walk to the shops, restaurants and harbour, but get a cab back with that heavy shopping. The views are excellent, very quiet and peaceful spot.

FANTASTIC SETTING AND VERY VERY NICE APARTMENT

We have visited Tenerife many times and will be returning to this Apartment next year. The setting is wonderful and the accommodation was 5*. We never leave reviews but thought this one deserved a good one.

NOT QUITE AS EXPECTED

Hi,

First of all can I say that the owner Ashlene was excellent in the information she provided, the speedy communication as well as helping with transport arrangements therefore this is not a reflection on her. However, the only reason I am writing this is to let other travellers know that if you book the apartment in January when we were there there is no sun on either of the 2 balaconies due to the position of the sun at that time of year and the apartment being at the side of the building. Also the small balcony attached to the apartment is beside the entrance to the lift which is used by all those on the fourth floor or above. As I am a total sun worshipper, I booked the apartment due to the sunny balcony as I had booked an apartment in Buenavista 6 months ago which was amazing and had amazing views with a huge balacony which overlooked the harbour. Unfortunately however there was no sun on the balcony for the 2 weeks we were in the apartment which meant having to go to the pool on the first floor to get sun which was not convenient as I like to be able to come and go in the apartment for food, cold drinks etc. Also I enjoy having breakfast and other meals on the balcony but due to the privacy aspect I did not do this and ate indoors instead. Due to the lack of sun we ended up spending most days away from the apartment in search of the sun, and as a result this ended up proving quite costly. On a brighter note the wifi connection was really good, the bed was comfy and the apartment was decorated with nice ornaments, lamps etc.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry you were a little disapointed,unfortunately the sun is lower in the sky in the winter months, and due to the position of the sun, many apartments in Los Gigantes do not get much sun on their balconies during the winter months, however a big benefit of Buenavista is the swimming pool with its large sun terrace, which gets the winter sun all day long, and enjoys spectacular views over the whole village and marina, the complex consists of only 77 apartments, therefore the swimming pool and terrace are rarely busy. The swimming pool is accessed by taking the lift from the fourth floor to the first floor , then a short walk along the first floor corridor. Many Guests find the fact that the lift finishes on the fourth floor is an advantage as they don't have to climb up steep stairs ,and can get straight into the apartment, which is situated on a no through way corridor with only four other apartments on the fourth floor.

Nice Apartment -make sure your fit

Very expensive transfer taxi, which we didnt expect 60 Euros. Pity we didnt realise we could get a local taxi to do it for 35 Euros. Advise walking to Lidl or Dino, but get a taxi back!!! Lots of british people run and work in pubs and cafes--would like to have seen otherwise. Caretaker very helpful when needed

Owner's Response: Transfer rates of 60 euros are expensive, the cost of private transfers from the people we recommend are 35 euros each way, which is the same if not better than the taxi prices and is a very professional,friendly door to door service.
