About The Owner

Having previously lived in other parts of the UK, Germany and Singapore, I have lived in this area for the past 30+ years.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2014

Why The Owner chose West Oxfordshire

Woodstock seems to have a unique feel to the place, an old fashioned town with a gentle demeaning atmosphere.

Hope cottage was in a central location and full of period charm. Giving it a full make over, including a new bathroom, gave it the potential to become a sought after accommodation for discerning guests to enjoy their holiday.

Lovely Christmas stay in cozy Woodstock Cottage

  • 4 of 5

Stayed at the cottage for 10 days thru Christmas until New Years Eve. We are a family with 2 college aged kids.

We had a nice welcome from Allan when we arrived. He provided a small 'essentials' grocery package to get us started in case of a late arrival, this was really appreciated. He also gave us a brief overview of the Cottage and helpful advice on things to see and do in the area. Excellent.

The Cottage itself is small but cozy. Enough for the 4 of us. A Christmas tree and decorations had been put up, which was a nice touch. The Cottage was clean and comfortable. The only negatives were the small kitchen and the Fridge relegated to the cupboard under the stairs - which had a strange unpleasant smell. Parking is a small walk away, in a public car park, we never had any issue finding a space but we can see that it might be a problem at certain times of day.

The location is great - just off from the town square, with some terrific Bars and Restaurants within easy reach. Also within very short walks are a Convenience Store and the BusStop to Oxford (a great day there...). Blenheim Palace is an easy walk and terrific place to spend a day.

Overall a great stay (even the weather cooperated - cold but no rain) we highly recommend the location and the Cottage (for small families).

Thanks!!!

The cottage was very comfortable and clean.

All the facilities were up to our expectations and the location is very good.

The owner is extremely helpful and was always in touch.

I would definately recommend this property to all concerned.

Lovely cottage in centre of village

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our short stay in Woodstock. The owner was very flexible regarding the dates as it was a late booking. The cottage was spacious and light and felt bigger than it actually was. The stairs were a little steep for my mom, by she managed. Would definitely book again if I was in the area!
