4 * Cottage Rural Matfield - Family and pet friendly (1 dog)

Updated: 28-Nov-2016

Escape to the countryside with footpaths on the doorstep, yet still be within a short drive (or take a taxi) of Royal Tunbridge Wells, with its restaurants and live jazz at The Pantiles during the long lazy summer evenings, or toast your toes by a log fire in one of the many atmospheric country pubs. Crittenden Farm Cottage is a detached bungalow and offers an ideal holiday base for rest and relaxation with accommodation all on the ground floor and an enclosed garden overlooking the fields. Stroll to the local pub and catch a cricket match on the village green, or brush up your golf with a spot of coaching at one of the nearby golf courses. Fishing and horse riding are also available locally. Bewl Water is within a short drive and you can hire bikes and cycle round the lake. There is also an impressive adventure playground for children which includes a fort, rope bridges and the Three Bears House! National Trust properties can be easily accessed including Knole in Sevenoaks where "Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides’’ starring Johnny Depp was filmed. Find out for yourself how Chartwell, near Westerham, inspired Sir Winston Churchill, and explore Hever Castle, a fine Tudor home and childhood residence of Anne Boleyn who became Queen of England for just 1000 days! Beaches at Hastings and Camber, 25 miles. Good rail connections from Paddock Wood to London for further sightseeing opportunities. Shop, pub and restuarant, 1 mile.

All on ground floor. Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 3 bedrooms: 2 double (5ft), 1 single. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Oil central heating. Bed linen and towels included. 32" Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed lawned garden with bricked footpath and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). No smoking

fantastic cottage in the great british countryside

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely stay in this cottage over the summer. It has some great dog walks and pubs nearby.

Easy to get to Bedgebury, bluewater, Bewl Water, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks etc. (although a car was essential)

Cottage was clean and well equipped.

Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring Kent
