About this property

Our modern family friendly Farmhouse is our home away from home. It has a well equipped kitchen with a large dining table. Off this is a good sized sitting room leading into a dining room which has another dining table. There is a TV which has English channels and some games and toys. At the other end of the house are four bedrooms downstairs, 2 doubles and 2 twins with a family bathroom and separate toilet. The configuration of some of the rooms can be adapted on request, for example three children can easily sleep in one room and beds can be moved for this. Upstairs there is a further twin and double room with separate toilet and shower room. Outside there is ample space to play, a good sized pool, trampoline and swings. There are plenty of sun loungers and cushions. 2 large garden tables and chairs will easily seat 12 people. There is also a table tennis table. The surrounding field is a great place for dogs to run or for a game of cricket! A travel cot, high chair and buggy are available on request.

Great Place and Location

If the property was owned by Ronseal it would use the phrase "Does it exactly what it says on the listing". Easy check in and communication great during our stay for a couple of minor things that came up. Location is brilliant as 15 mins from the brillliant towns of Eymet and Duras and a hypermarket in Pineuilth. Quet location even though a road is close .Pool area is brilliant . Garden and amenities great . All ages stayed from 18 months to 82 years old and we loved every minute even the 8 hour last day storm . We will definitely be back

Wonderful home. Perfect break.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday. I cannot fault the communication with Billy, anything I needed to know or have confirmed was delt with immediately and in a friendly yet professional manner. The property was clean and the level of essential items for day to day use and the toys, games and equipment for families was amazing. The pool was a really good size, safe and perfectly warm. All of us slept well, our beds were really comfortable and the layout worked well for my parents to sleep upstairs with their own bathroom enabling them to have space from our noise! The location worked well and was a simple drive from the Bergerac airport. We all loved it so much we intend to book again for next yr. Thanks for providing us a great gite. We are all happy and relaxed! 5*

Spacious family home in gorgeous setting

We had a fantastic 2 weeks in Billy and Julia’s lovely French home. It is so spacious and comfortable with every creature comfort you need. The garden is huge with plenty of space for children and dogs to play and have fun - there are swings, a trampoline and lots of games and inflatables for the pool. The pool itself is large, lovely, heated and clean, with plenty of sun beds to lounge and enjoy the sun, which we did! The views and surrounding fields are full of vines and sunflowers - a truly beautiful area of France. It is only a short car ride to Eymet or Duras, or even St. Foy Le Grande with shops, cafes and places to eat. This is a large spacious house, with plenty of space for bigger groups and has everything you need. I must also say that Billy is the best owner I’ve ever dealt with in 14 years - so friendly and helpful, and answered any e-mail immediately when we were booking the property - he also kept in touch during our stay. Thank you again for a wonderful stay Billy, and for the use of your fab home. Definitely a place I would recommend, and also would love to go back to!

Property was clean, comfortable and catered from ages 88 to 3 years old. Plenty of space to relax.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks in Billy and Julia's beautiful house. There were 6 adults and 3 children. There was plenty to keep the children and us adults amused, which was great because having 3 little ones - it meant they didn't want to do the same thing all the time and your house had that in mind. The veranda proved popular all throughout the day from our 88 year old Gramps reading books, to the 3 and 4 year olds bug spotting. It was a perfect place to relax at anytime of the day and especially in the evening watching the beautiful sunsets. We made full use of the bbq by using it most evenings as we love to eat al fresco and with a fly swat in hand it wasn't too bad! The pool area was great and when we were lucky to have the beautiful sunshine, it was just bliss. We truly had a relaxing time and can't wait to return next year to make more wonderful memories.

Lovely private house with loads of space!

This was our first family holiday to France. We stayed for a week with friends as the property is easily large enough for bigger groups. We drove down from London and journey was straightforward. Farmhouse very well equipped with a great home from home feel. We ate outside every day but the kitchen has plenty of space to eat in as well. The pool was fantastic - a real draw with the children and a good size. The garden is enormous and with a trampoline and table tennis as well there was lots of opportunities for outdoor play. Good supermarket a short drive away, a lovely bakery for breakfast pastries even closer! Trips out included St Emillion, trips to small vineyards, Eymet, Duras Castle, some night markets - all easily accessible from 15mins - 45 mins away by car. Very relaxed, peaceful setting.

We have always loved France and have been holidaying there with friends for many years. As we have had children and pets we have gained a greater understanding of all the little helpful things you want to find when you go away. With three children and a dog we know how helpful it is to have space to run and play. We love living in West London but on holiday we crave space and calming views of the sunflowers and vines and at Boussinet this is what we found. We love to holiday with friends and the house is large enough to accommodate big groups.

Why they chose this property

We first saw this house on a cold, wet January day and despite this fell in love with it. We decided that if we could love it in the winter we would definityl love it when the sun was shining and we do! This is a beautiful part of France with lots of Bastide towns to discover, a good range of food and wines, and places to visit. Both the Dordogne and the Lot are nearby and are popular for water sports. Many people love to visit the area to cycle and there are some great routes - although there are a lot of hills! The configuration of the house means that it is possible for the children to sleep at one end and not hear noise from outside or the living room depending on the time of year. In the summer we spend all our time outdoors, enjoying the pool and playing games and eating al fresco. We continue to find lots of new places to enjoy each time we visit.

What makes this property unique

This house ticked all the boxes for us because it had lots of space, a pool, lovely views and was within easy reach of local amenities. Having holidayed with friends for many years we now have 5 (almost 6!) children and 2 dogs between us. The house easily accommodates large groups and we have had other friends there at the same time which still worked fine. The kitchen is very much the heart of the house and leads directly out to a terrace and seating area which is great for meals.
We have tried to make our house a home from home and to equip it with everything you need to take a family away - after wise advice that "holidays with children are not so much holidays as trips away to somewhere that never has half the things you need!!" We have tried to provide a range of toys and games, a well equipped kitchen, enough things to do outside and a feeling of being comfortable and relaxed. We love spending time there and we hope you will too.
