On the first floor it has a master bedroom, which is spacious and peaceful with a solid wood frame double bed and superior quality mattress, covered with natural linen. There is also a lovely light and airy shower room with all the essentials.

About the Owner

Suffolk Heritage Coast, United Kingdom

Members since 2015

Hello,

We are Tim and Lucy and we live on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast with our son Jack. We have been successfully letting our cottages: Stable cottage and Arwen cottage in Aldeburgh via our company Aldeburgh Seaside Cottages. Both our properties are self-catering and advertise on the Owners Direct website. We are thrilled to have met such interesting people and received such lovely feedback for it.

Tim was born and bred in beautiful Suffolk and I was born in Lima-Peru and brought up in Milan-Italy. I speak Spanish, Italian, French, German and English. As my husband’s family is from Suffolk we have strong ties with this beautiful part of the world. Having travelled extensively we have been inspired by the good things we have come across in properties we have stayed in. As you can tell, we are passionate about providing somewhere special that our guests will love, enjoy and return to.

We feel incredibly lucky to be able to live in this part of the world and are loving sharing our cottages with some amazing people from the Owners Direct community. If we had a motto to live by it would have to be Maya Angelou's: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style...”

Guestbook comments from the owner

Prior to our arrival, Lucy offered prompt, clear communication. Maurizio and I arrived Saturday afternoon to a lovely, cosy, clean cottage. We were also treated to a lovely welcome pack upon our arrival. A special touch, well appreciated after a long drive. The cottage offered all amenities needed including full kitchen and lovely front garden patio area. Would recommend Lucy & Tim's cottage while visiting beautiful Suffolk!

Romantic Bolthole on the Suffolk Coast!

  • 5 of 5

Lucy and Tim are incredible hosts and welcomed us with open arms. We had a wonderful stay here and didn't want to leave. We had cake, bread and milk left for us which was very welcome. They ensured that our stay was comfortable and for everything to help us find lifts to and from the Snape concert hall. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to relax or work! It is simply fantastic! Can't fault or think of anything to improve!

Stable Cottage - pretty, compact and cosy with privacy.

  • 4 of 5

Stable Cottage is a sweet little compact 1 bedroomed cottage. In my view, a better option than a hotel room of similar cost. Owners Tim and Lucy live in the attached larger property and are a delight. Welcoming and helpful. Private entry with a padlocked gate and if the weather is good a pretty courtyard to sit in offers space and privacy. Basically equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room with a sofa, WIFI, TV and I-POD docking station mean that if you do want to relax, watch TV, film or listen to you own music you can.

Good double bed and separate shower upstairs. Tim and Lucy are very responsive to problems and clearly want their guests to enjoy their stay.

The cottage is in a great position. You can park outside or near the cottage. Restaurants, pubs, and shops all within very short walking distance. A good base for exploring as has already been extensively mentioned by others. We ate in the Bell one evening and the food was good quality, fresh and generous portions. Highly recommend! The Trinity cafe does good coffee and massive breakfasts if you need it.

Loved it - and our feedback to the owners about minor,( but a bit inconvenient) and easily fixed things has already been dealt with. With these amendments I would increase my review to 5 stars.

Owner's Response: Elaine and her husband were such a delight to host. They looked after Stable cottage beautifully and left it incredibly tidy and clean. Thank you for being perfectly charming guests. It was such a pleasure to have you stay. We purchased a charming rail cloth with white wooden hangers, a towel rail and a brabantia ironing board but not on time for Elaine's stay. We hope to see you again and we will definitely host you in our cottage in Aldeburgh next year...just a stone throw from the sea! Best wishes Tim and Lucy

Tim and Lucy were there to greet us when we arrived. Stable cottage is the perfect idyllic hideaway in a lovely part of the country. Clean, warm and cozy and a great place from which to explore. The cottage had everything we needed for a quiet getaway in the countryside and is well located to visit various places in Suffolk; we went to Snape Maltings, Orford and Aldeburgh all within10 minutes of Saxmundham. Highly recommended. Thanks Tim and Lucy

Beautiful cottage and perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful few days here. The cottage was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean as well as warm and cosy. It was really well-equipped and the complimentary goody bag meant we had a very good start to our holiday. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring Suffolk and surrounding area. All instructions and communications with Tim and Lucy were easy and straightforward. They were perfect hosts. Will definitely return.
