A 'home from home' 2 Royal Oak is a semi- detached old workman cottage that is over 100 years old it has been lovingly restored, with the beach side feel that is welcoming to all. It offers comfortable accommodation throughout. With a south facing garden you can while away your time gazing across the fields over a glass of your choice. With Bude only a short journey by car away you can absorb the beauty that is Cornwall with its unique beaches, wonderful walks and incredible landscape. You will never get bored visiting Kernow, there is always plenty to do for all ages.

With festivals of food to festivals of music Bude is the place to visit this year.

Our homes lies close to the main route into Stratton A3072. and onwards to Bude/Kilkhampton/Camelford A39. With our nearest beach and well known sea pool located in Bude just 4 miles away..

About Julie Snell

We are the Snells, I am Julie or Jules and this is a bleached Daniel my husband in the picture. We have two teenage daughters Mads and Abi one of which is residing in Indonesia. Being a surfing family we couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to live in, we are spoilt for choice with the beaches of Bude, Widemouth, Northcott Mouth, Sandymouth they tick all the boxes for fun in the water and if not just great to take a stroll and inhale the cornish air. We love where we live and want others to enjoy it to.

Great holday home away from home

We had an amazing time in the house. It was clean, spacious and the owners were on site but left us to get on with our holiday. We could not have asked for a better holiday place to stay with a very lovely welcome for our arrival.

There is no area we could fault with the place and could not give any negative feedback.

We were very pleased with the house and had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this place to anyone.

Such a wonderful property and lovely setting

This is the second year we've stayed at this property and it was just as good as the first. The property is well kept and maintained. Julie welcomes you with a wonderful cream tea, delish.

I cannot fault any part of this property, the beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, there are books and games for those rainy days and information of the local area. Lovely, lovely place.

Great cottage in a good location.

We had a lovely time with our son and family, our 2 grand daughters loved it, it is a nice safe and friendly place to stay and Bude is easily accessible, overall we had a wonderful time.

Bright and cheerful cottage with lovely views

We received a lovely welcome, with everything we needed supplied, including tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a home made cream tea. The house was clean and well equipped, and very comfortable. The garden provided a lovely aspect with a large decking area to sit on. We had great weather so the double doors were open onto the garden most of the time. The owners even helped our son with his surfing ambitions and alerted him to when and where there were good waves.

A great location for exploring the surrounding area.

The only niggle was the passing traffic, which was most noticeable in the front bedroom, but more muted in the rest of the house. Also be aware that this is a semi detatched and there was some family noise from next door.

The accommodation was lovely and spacious with three double bedded bedrooms.

We had a lovely break here and the property is close to Bude which has everything. A river to go boating on and a beautiful beach & quant shop's to explore.lots of picturesque ports to discover too. The only negative was the surrounding property is under renovation and has a lot of unsightly mess around it but this did not affect our stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you for choosing our home and we are glad you enjoyed your break in Cornwall. Sorry to receive the review concerning our neighbours as always with a semi detached property we as owners cannot control what they do or how they present their own home. 2 Royal Oak stands in its own surroundings and doesn't overlook our neighbours property. Next door can only be viewed from upstairs and doesn't inhibit our home from its rural views. Sadly I think this is why we missed a 5 star rating which we cannot control. I take your comments onboard and thank you for being honest. We as a family try to make all of our visitors happy with their stay and to be comfortable in the surroundings. We wish you as happy end to 2016. Jules and family.
