About this property

The famous Le Petit Chateau Salernes

The Famous Le Petit Chateau Salernes - Private Villa For Hire

The house is on a quiet country road close to a river and is nestled in a secure private gated 5,807metre squared garden.

This exquisite provincial property is in the Var region of Provence, renowned for its vine yards and beautiful towns and villages. The house is a 10 minute walk from the local sleepy town, renowned for its pottery and lovely weekly markets, perfect for cheese tasting and enjoying the French Provincial way of life.

The house and gardens have been completely renovated while in keeping with the original charm of a French Provincial manor house. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, WC and elevator providing full disabled access to the first floor. The living room and modern kitchen then open onto a spacious dining area and lounge. A small original door leads into a charming wine cellar.

A lovely open and winding staircase leads you to the upper levels of the house. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, two with ensuite facilities, one single bedroom and a fourth bathroom. There is also a large quiet balcony area that has views over the surrounding gardens, pool and fields, ideal to catch the morning sun.

The second floor then offers a very large master bedroom, two separate double bedrooms, a small bathroom and a separate sauna and shower facility room.

The spacious gardens are beautifully landscaped with a lovely private garden with sculptured fountain. Tall Cyprus trees, Olive, Pomegranate, Fig and Wall Nut trees define a large and spacious private garden with scented flowers and beautiful views of the surrounding hills.

At the rear of the house there is a large tiled veranda with views of the pool; perfect for daytime and evening alfresco dining, offering lovely views of the garden. Then below there is a beautiful pool with a stylish summer kitchen that includes a WC, shower, BBQ and clay pizza oven.

While the house is an approximately 45 minutes drive from the sea and the popular seaside resort of St.Tropez, there are also some beautiful local small towns to visit and explore, including Salernes, Lorgues, Entrecasteaux and Carces to name but a few.

A must see, a 20 minute drive away is also the amazing Gorge de Verdon, Frances grand canyon, offering amazing views and a range of water sports including white water rafting and other outdoor activities.

A delightful property in beautiful spacious gardens
We were a family of 9 comprising 3 couples 2 teenagers and one single adult. The house is spacious and comfortable in a traditional Province style. Everywhere was clean and tidy with comfortable beds. The outlook from every room is spectacular over the large garden and surrounding hills. This is a truly traditional Province setting with the bonus of wonderfully landscaped gardens. There is a new well kitted kitchen adjacent to a large sitting room. The only criticism we have of the house was the about some of the bathrooms. They are in need of an update though everything worked OK. Outside the pool area is good with plenty of loungers with or without shelter under the trees. The outside kitchen is substantial, covered by a large roof and has a barbecue and pizza oven - if you know how to use it! If you like the traditional Provence outdoors you'll enjoy this property.

Fabulous stay
We loved Liam's house! We were a party of 2 families with 5 kids between us and the house was perfect. Pool and garden glorious, lovely place to eat under a shady tree. Bedrooms big and beds comfy - bathrooms perfect and all clean. Liam was a great host and quick to come back with any queries. We'll be back next summer!

Thanks Liam for this wonderful week !
