Firstly sorry for not popping in and saying goodbye this morning.
Can I take this opportunity to thank you and your wife for all your help and hospitality during our stay at Waterside Cottage.
Barbara and myself had a very enjoyable stay, we found the cottage very comfortable and relaxing.
Best regards.
Brian and Barbara.
A beautiful cosy cottage in calm surroundings. Easy access to York, and the coast, just perfect for that short break.
Me and my partner had a beautiful time at the cottage, it was very peaceful and we will definitely go again.
Accommodation was perfect; a sweet cosy cottage, situated next to a pond with a lovely rural aspect, outdoor seating area, quality interiors and a divinely comfortable bed.
We enjoyed the proximity to numerous villages and attractions and was enamoured with the market town of Helmsly, less than half an hour from the cottage, which also has it's own castle, walled gardens, shops and eateries as well as a mini brewery - what more could you want?
Also, Malton, Pickering and York are literally 'up the road'.
Must just add that the cottage grounds are now home to a newly built Shepherd's hut (almost ready to use) sat at the water's edge with decked seating/bbq area and top spec facilities including a bathroom with shower! You won't be disappointed if you book this little gem.
Owner Pauline is a lovely lady who greeted us warmly and made us feel at home straight away. Thanks for our stay, we loved it!
Loved it!
We enjoyed our few days at Waterside Cottage. We found it to be clean, tidy and comfortable and being fortunate with the weather for late September we took advantage of the patio and garden which we found relaxing after enjoyable days out.
We managed to cram in a day out to Scarborough and Whitby as well as several trips into York. Andrew was very friendly and helpful with lots of great ideas for trips out as well as places to eat. He also gave us a great idea with suggesting we take the park and ride into York which we found very easy to find and it was much easier than driving into York. There is also a very handy bus service with a stop around the corner with a service into York every 30 Minutes. This makes Waterside Cottage an excellent holiday destination for those who like to arrive and leave the car and let others take the strain.
We would highly recommend Waterside Cottage and we look forward to a return visit.
The cottage was fine, the weather mixed, the location great. The car failed and we came home 2 days early via 3 AA recovery trucks. Now please stop bothering me. Thank you
