About the property

6/8 bedrooms. Within 10 mins walk of shops, theatres and attractions.

Stratford House provides an ideal venue for large family or friend reunions. Cars are not essential as the property is located within 10 minutes walk of all major attractions and shops and the town is well served by bus and rail. But if cars are preferred the forecourt provides ample parking for up to 8 cars.

On the ground floor is a kitchen, lounge, conservatory dining room, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin and 1 single. The first floor provides 2 further doubles, a family room for 4, a single and a further twin. All have TVs and full ensuite facilities with the exception of the ground floor single room that has an ensuite shower only and a separate cloakroom. Outside is a patio area and a summer house that can be used as an extra sitting room or playroom.

With regards to seating in general, the lounge has 3 comfortable sofas. The summerhouse has a random selection of seating which has been deliberately designed. The idea is that some groups may like to send the children off to an area of their own, i.e. the summerhouse while others may prefer to just get everyone together in the main lounge. Hence all of the seating in the summerhouse is light to carry and can be brought into the main lounge as wished.

The dining room can be arranged in 2 ways. There are 2 tables that can each seat 8 people very comfortably. However these tables can be put together to create almost a square to provide comfortable seating for up to 14. This arrangement would not be ideal for 15 or 16 people as 1 or 2 volunteers would have to sit at corners, but it can be done.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

The above layout of the house is valid only until the 16th January 2017. After that date we are reconfiguring the ground floor. Only the ground floor double room and conservatory dining room will remain unchanged. We have found that the living space for large groups provided by the current kitchen and lounge is adequate but could be vastly improved. We are therefore knocking down a few walls and extending the kitchen to make it much larger. We are also taking away the ground floor twin room and single room and creating a new far more spacious lounge. Capacity, however, will be maintained with the provision of 2 double sofa beds in the lounge, separated only at night with a free standing room divider. It must be noted that, while the downstairs cloakroom will provide a toilet and washbasin for anyone sleeping in the new lounge, shower facilities will need to be borrowed from one of the 6 remaining en-suite bedrooms. While we have considered the impact of losing 2 established bedrooms, we feel that the benefit of providing far more usable living space in the daytime will more than make up for this. A video tour will show you the house after the alterations.

About Karen Cauvin or Tasha Pollock

I am Karen and run the property in partnership with my daughter Tasha who spends her spare time bringing up my 3 gorgeous grandchildren, Eddie (6) Bethany (4) and little Oliver who turned 1 on Christmas Eve. In my spare time I work as a midwife in Worcester.

I also have 2 sons and we were all born and continue to live in this fabulous town.

What makes this house unique

In a nutshell, it's central to town and has ample parking, although how we came by this property is a story in itself

Much better than a hotel

  • 5 of 5

A group of family and friends had a wedding to attend in Stratford town centre and we were lucky enough to have found this house to rent. The accommodation gave us all individual rooms for sleeping but with the bonus of lounge and dining space for when we all wanted to get together. This was a much nicer and relaxed atmosphere than if we had booked individual hotel rooms and we had the added bonus of being able to cook for ourselves in the well equipped kitchen. Within walking distance of the town centre and plenty of parking on the front of the house this made our stay perfect. Great communication with the owners, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

Perfect for large group of friends

  • 5 of 5

Just stayed with a group of 16 and had a fantastic time. The house was lovely - beautifully decorated, only a 5-10 min walk from the town centre and perfect for a getaway with a large group. Tasha and Karen were very communicative and helpful and they left us a lovely collection of goodies as a welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Group weekend break in March

  • 4 of 5

We rented Stratford House as a group of friends meeting up for the weekend - we live in various parts of the UK and Stratford was a central location.

We had a great stay, so nice to have individual space in our rooms with shared lounge kitchen and dining room . All bedrooms are en-suite - lounge had seating for us all and the dining room table comfortably seated all of us.

Thank you Karen for the scones, jam, cream, tea and coffee you left as a welcome gift - a very nice start to our stay.

Fantastic Getaway !

  • 5 of 5

Booked a last minute stay with myself and 5 friends. Communicated with Karen during the booking process who was quick to respond and very helpful/informative. Ideal location just 5 minutes walk into the centre of the town with loads to do in the town of Stratford upon Avon. The house was clean & comfortable & we will definitely look to come back again !

Nearest Airport : Birmingham International at 25 Miles Nearest Barpub : Salmon Tail at 250 Metres Nearest Train : Stratford-upon-Avon at 800 Metres Nearest Motorway : M40 at 6 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Several to choose from at 800 Metres Car: not necessary

Stratford-upon-Avon is world renowned for being the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Locally there are 5 properties to visit connected with his own birth and that of family members. A must see is one of his plays at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre . Failing that the riverside setting of Stratford is immensely attractive and simply strolling by the river or hiring a rowing boat is tremendously popular.

We are also spoilt by an incredible choice of fabulous restaurants and pubs offering a wide range of food and drink.

Nearby are the towns of Warwick and Kenilworth each with an impressive castle and the village of Mickleton with the outstanding gardens of Hidcote Manor.

Within 30 minutes drive you can also find yourself in the Cotswolds where the villages of Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Chipping Campden represent just a handful of the prettiest villages in England.
