Beautiful airy house with stunning views over the valley and vineyards close to the historic village of Calvisson, Languedoc Roussillon in the South of France. 25 minutes from the golden sands of the Mediterranean coast and located between the vibrant city of Montpellier and Historic Nimes.The house is located in the secure gated development of the Domaine de Mas Des Vignes, Calvisson. The complex offers an outdoor swimming pool with fun slides, a covered heated pool, a sports court suitable for tennis, football and basketball, many Pétanque courts, mini-golf, a bar and café, a launderette, a mini shop, kids club and entertainment in the peak summer season. There are friendly and helpful reception services making the house is a perfect location for a family friendly holiday. The house is ideally situated on a more secluded area of the complex which is a short two minute walk to the pool but offers the opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquil views over the magnificent countryside. Relax at the pool or join in organised summer exercise clubs including aqua aerobics and water polo. A path of almost a mile borders the inside of the development and is perfect for sauntering evening strolls or early morning runs. With two outside terraces with outdoor seating you have the chance to enjoy dining and outdoor living, with the sun rising in the morning to the front and the evening sunshine on the decking at the rear. The house consists of open plan living with french windows at each end, comfortable sofa seating and dining area and fully equipped kitchen downstairs with microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, coffee maker and kettle. Upstairs there is a separate bathroom with enclosed shower cubicle, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. with bunk beds and a single bed Downstairs, one sofa converts to a double sofa bed meaning the property sleeps 7 comfortably. Bed linen can be hired from reception.The house has its own outdoor parking space.Internet access is available through paid wifi at the bar or reception.There are various supermarkets within a 5 minute drive away but a small mini market on site for essentials.CALVISSON is a pretty village with a good array of shops bars and restaurants and hosts a lovely market on a Sunday morning. During the summer season there is a magnificent bull festival with bull running and marching bands in the village square. Today the valley is used for vineyards and horticulture, The old railway has been transformed into a 22km safe pedestrian cycleway from Caveirac, through Calvisson and Congénies to Junas and Sommières. This is used by horses, cycles, and pedestrians. You can hire bikes in Calvisson and cycle the 10Km safe green route to Sommieres for a leisurely lunchThe nearby villages of Vergeze and Aigues Vivies offer further restaurants and bars.The LANGEUDOC-ROUSSILON REGION:The house is only 25 minutes from the nature of the beautiful Camargue. Take a boat trip along the canal or visit the historic walled town of Aigues Mortes.Sete is less than an hour away and hosts many top class fish restaurants along the world famous canal with jousting competitions in the summer. You have the choice of many sandy Mediteranean beaches including La Grau du Roi, Saint Marie de la Mer and La Grande Motte, which also hosts an impressive marina. You can swim or kayak in the river at the UNESCO world heritage site at the Pont du Gard.The Roman amphitheatre in NImes, 20 minutes drive from Calvisson, was built in 70 AD. A little further away is the ancient palace of the popes and the famous bridge in Avignon, Roman Arles, and historic Marseille.
