Seaside Villa in Kisla, Kalkan with sea and mountain views

Updated: 20-Sep-2016
Seaside villa tucked into the hillside with private pool and gardens.

This splendidly located Villa is only 75 meters, easy walk, from the waters edge in a sheltered bay which offers wonderful swimming and snorkelling with the occasional burst of cool fresh water from underground springs.

The Villa has been imaginatively designed incorporating frontages of curved glass to maximise the impact of the staggering views across the bay of Kalkan and the Taurus Foothills. This makes it the most idyllic of locations - one that ensures guests return year after year.

Previously Villa Mavi Kelebek has only been available to the guests of Exclusive Escapes and, therefore, is equipped to meet demanding standards.

From the private car park a few steps lead down to the Villa which is tucked into the hillside overlooking the bay.

Villa Mavi Kelebek is set in a private garden with terrace and kidney shaped pool, incorporating a jacuzzi, overlooking the broad sweep of Kalkan bay.

Ground Floor:

Entrance is into a large open-plan room with a comfortable sitting area with double sofa bed, TV/DVD, CD player and iPod dock, separate dining area with seating for six people and a large fully-fitted kitchen. There is a small Cloakroom/WC.

French doors and curved glass run across the majority of the frontage which afford spectacular views of the bay. These doors open onto the spacious terrace, garden and pool area which, again, look directly across the bay.

First Floor

Upstairs there is a double master bedroom and a twin/double bedroom. Each has a private balcony with chairs and table to enjoy the ever changing views across the bay.

The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath and overhead rain & hand shower and WC. The twin bedroom has an en suite shower room with overhead rain & hand shower and WC. Both bathrooms have hairdryers.

Beside the stone garden and fine palm tree there is an outside pool shower.

There is a double hammock swinging in the shade. The Villa benefits from beautiful mature gardens with a grassed area leading to a relaxing shady corner with seating under the Jacaranda tree.

Beneath the car park there is a games area with a Ping Pong table.

For your peace of mind there is an alarm system and safety deposit box.

The Villa benefits from the use of a large Automatic Standby Generator and a Water Supply Storage System should the utilities fail.

A Welcome Pack is provided.

This is a fabulous villa in a stunning location.

  • 5 of 5

The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and very well maintained by the team of local people who were not at all intrusive despite daily maintenance visits & 2 thorough cleans in a short stay. Very well equipped and as comfortable as any we have stayed at previously in the area.

Whilst the outside pool and terrace is wonderful the added facilities of table tennis and hammock are really nice touches, as was the generous welcome pack.

Pool is lovely with lots of comfortable furniture and ample shade to protect against the heat of the day. The very short stroll to the sea and beach bar is an added bonus.

We know the area pretty well, had therefore high expectations and were not in the slightest disappointed. Would definitely return without any hesitation.

Beautiful views of Kalkan, peaceful location

  • 4 of 5

This was our first holiday in Turkey after so many recommendations from our friends and being massive fans of Villa holidays in Greece we were unsure. All I can say is that we are so glad we made the plunge because after our visit to Kisla, Kalkan, we are now converted. The Villa is of traditional design, which we love. The Villa was clean, well equipped and in a fantastic location giving superb views from the pool terrace during the day and in the evening from your balcony over the bay to Kalkan. Ness, the Villa owner put us completely at ease in terms of communication, instructions about how to find the Villa and advice on transfers, local supermarkets etc. We have twin 7 year old daughters who loved it and the pool is adequate in size for hours of fun in the sun. You are a 5 min stroll down to the beach park to catch the water taxi to Kalkan in the evening where you are spoilt for choice in terms of roof terrace restaurants. The maintenance staff come every day to water the gardens and were very polite and not intrusive. The weather was stunning, Seda, our guest relations manager arranged a boat trip for the day, which took us to several local bays, which included swimming, snorkelling and lunch - a thoroughly enjoyable day and highly recommended. We're now planning our return visit!!

Villa Mavi. A great home from home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Mavi. The owners have thought of everything so it is a real home from home. The villa itself is comfortably furnished and very clean. The outside area provides many different areas to relax whether you are looking to be in the sun or shade. The pool is a great size and was always the perfect temperature. There is a team of cleaners who come in twice a week and clean the villa and change all the linen and towels. Enough to keep everything well cared for without being intrusive! There is also Mohammer who is on hand everyday to tidy the garden and outside area and make sure everything is in working order. There is also a gas barbecue so we enjoyed many relaxing meals eating al fresco.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa and hope we will be able to return soon.

Wonderful relaxing holiday

  • 5 of 5

Dear Ness

We had a wonderful two weeks in Kisla - the villa was perfect in everyway, all the facilities and the view . It was our 5th time in Kalkan in villas , twice in Patara Prince and now three times in Kisla and we really hope to return next year. We had no issues whilst we were there even with the coup the one evening. It was really sad to see how quiet everywhere was especially the town and the beach club. My husband went out walking and exploring most days and my daughter and I became regulars down at the Kalkan beach club - they are all so friendly and relaxed there - we really prefer it to the Mahal club so the location of your villa is perfect.

A couple of practical issue - the water cooler was excellent - we havent had one of those before !

We didnt get our deckchair ( the dark blue towels ) changed at all over the two weeks - seemed a bit strange but otherwise the cleaning/gardening crew took care of use very well. I personally would have loved to have had the option of some darker curtains in the main bedroom as being a light sleeper I was woken up around 5:30 every morning as the sun shone in - very pretty but on holiday a couple more hours sleep would have been welcome!

Also a large black goat seemed to be a regular visitor to next doors garden - not sure if you have seen him before -he seemed quite shocked to see people at the villa but was eating their plants when we saw him in the evening a couple of times - he then disappeared back up into the hills.

We really hope that the situation in Turkey settles down and that we can return for our summer holiday next year to Kisla - Thank you!

Perfect location!!!!

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Mavi Kelebek although inside might seem a little dated along side the new builds in Kalkan the area outside and the fabulous location of the villa more than made up for it.I can honestly say we have never been on holiday and not even tried the TV ,the veiws at night were mesmerising and in the daytime we never tired of watching the gullets coming and going and also what was happening down at the beach club below .The cleaning and gardening team kept the the villa pristine inside and out I've never seen staff that thorough they were also very very friendly.Never before in previous villas have we had such a welcome pack both in and out of the fridge Ness had thought of everything to make our holiday get of to a great start. Not only can I highly recommend Mavi Kelebek but also Kalkan itself it's such a magical place full of wonderful restaurants ,shops and not forgetting the wonderful people, our top three restaurants have to be Sade,Alternative and Small House ,all in all we have just had the perfect holiday.

Amazing location. In the past only enjoyed by guests of Exclusive Escapes. Wonderful views any time of the day, evening or night. Never a dull moment, something is always happening in the bay whether it is watching the boats or seeing turtles and dolphins.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman at 120 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Kalkan Beach Park at 75 Metres Nearest Motorway : D400 Major Road at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Kuluhana Hotel &, Bob's Bar & Restaurant at 100 Metres Nearest Beach : Kalkan Beach Park at 75 Metres Car: recommended

Situated approximately 120km from Dalaman Airport (90 minute drive) or Antalya Airport (approximately 2.5 - 3 hour drive).

Car hire, whilst not essential, is useful for exploring the many attractions in the region. Tours by several reputable companies are available should you not wish to drive.

Kalkan Beach Park has a small natural beach which is safe for small children to enjoy the sea. There is also a pebble beach in Kalkan town.

Water-taxis from the Beach Jetty (75m easy walk from the Villa) can be taken during the day to and from Kalkan (during July and August runs in the evening too) and should you prefer not to drive in the evening, a taxi is easily arranged for the ten-minute journey.

The Mahal Beach Club (owned by Villa Mahal Hotel) is 5 minutes walk with sun loungers, shades and a restaurant serving snacks and lunch.

There are other beach clubs dotted around the bay with sun loungers and serving snacks and refreshments.

The Kaputas turquoise cove is 15 minutes drive away accessed by steep steps but well worth the trouble as it has crystal clear waters. The 18km sandy beach of Patara with sand dunes and archeological ruins is 20 minutes drive. Bus services operate to both of these.

There are also ruins at Xanthos, which is our favourite, and is approximately 30 minutes drive. The Letoon site is approximately 45 minutes drive and continuing along the road from Letoon is the middle beach (part of Patara Beach). Tlos Archeological site is 1 hour drive.

Kalkan Village with its winding streets has many restaurants, bars and shops and is approximately 2.5km from Villa Mavi Kelebek. Walking into Kalkan takes about 30 minutes, 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes by water taxi. There is an inexpensive taxi service. Kisla has two small general stores, for dining there are a few good restaurants only 5 minutes walk from the Villa Mavi Kelebek.

Blue Marlin watersports centre is located at The Beach Park and near the Harbour offering water skiing, boat hire and jet skis. Jet skies can only be used 50m from the shore which preserves the peace and quiet of the area.

Another watersports centre is on the other side of the bay near Kalkan Harbour.

Two dive companies operate in Kalkan, one in the Harbour and the other in the next bay, Kalamar.

We viewed many plots of land in the Kalkan area before deciding and building this piece of paradise. Views from every room - even a loo with a view.
