Great Apartment, only 10 min walk away from beautiful York. Apartment is comfortable, and has everything you would Need for a stay in York. Owners were also very prompt when it was realised a travel cot was missing, but had in rectified in 30 mins. Would definately recommend this as a place to stay.

good location with private parking space

  • 3 of 5

the noise from the busy street in front of the property

every time the big lorries or bus run on the street, the whole house shakes.

the uneven floor

uncomfortable sofa

one of two bedrooms is too small for the double bed.

There aren't enough for clothes hanging.

welcome pack might be good, but the owner could have asked before the guests arrive if they prefer white bread to brown, white wine to red etc.

wish more toilet rolls supply

well equipment kitchen

Owner's Response: There is noise from the road at the front as it is a main road that goes to the city centre. The bedrooms to the back are a lot more quieter from any noises. As for the uneven floor this is a old school house which has many little quirks, like most old properties in York. As for sofa that a personal choice. Hanging space yes there is not a lot of it ,again it's a old property. Welcome pack is more than sufficient to start your holiday that includes the toilet rolls we leave two, as it is self catering these are to get you started with.

perfect location from which to explore York

  • 5 of 5

We spent a thoroughly enjoyable week in the flat in April 2017. With the welcome pack which we found upon arrival and the fact that the flat is very well equipped, we felt immediately at home. The location is ideal, both for exploring York (15 minutes walk to town) and indeed, visiting other towns near York. We would certainly recommend the flat as a good holiday rental.

Nice apartment in a good location for York centre

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was nice, very clean and in a great location. We had a lovely stay for New Year but there are just a few little features that could be improved upon to make the apartment excellent!! No hanging space for clothes, bigger bath towels, champagne flutes in the kitchen. Yes these are nit picky details and overall we had a great stay these are just a few things that would have made our stay perfect!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments we can't improve hanging space as this is a very old building but have included hanging hooks where we can , flutes yes we can put in and will do . Bath towels as stated not bath sheets.

Northern England region Yorkshire, the largest and most diverse county in England. Not without justification do Yorkshire men call their county 'God's own country'. From the stunning countryside of the Yorkshire Dales National Park with it's rolling hills and valleys studded with beautiful villages and old market towns to the historic North Yorkshire coast with it's famous resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey and the wild North York Moors, Yorkshire is packed with ancient castles, ruined abbeys and majestic stately homes of the aristocracy. No other county can match it for it's beauty and heritage. York, the jewel in Yorkshire's crown, voted England's Favorite City, European tourism City of the Year. There is always something going on to surprise and delight the visitor. This beautiful old walled city has over 2000 years of history. York has been important to many invaders. The Romans named York Eboracum and was home to the legendary Ninth Hispana and Sixth Victrix legions, Roman Emperors were acclaimed and died in this city. Viking Kings ruled from here and named it Yorvik. Norman stronghold, William The Conqueror fortified the city to subdue the rebellious North after the invasion of 1066. King George VI said 'The history of York is the history of England'.The city is alive with history with every twist and turn of its narrow streets, York Minster, the ancient 'Shambles', Clifford's Tower, Merchant Adventurers Hall, Kings Manor, Treasurers House, Yorvik Viking Centre, the list goes on. World class horse racing, superb museums [the Yorkshire Museum, Castle Museum and National Railway Museum], old haunted Inns and pubs, year round festivals, street entertainers, ghost walks, riverboat trips, lively bars, cosy bistros all combine together to make York the city to visit whatever the season. York, a city where an ancient past feeds a vibrant present.
