About the property

Spacious apartment that welcomes families, couples & dogs.

A decked terrace reveals some of the best views of this beautiful Woolacombe beach and coastline! This spacious one bedroomed apartment is situated above the 3 mile sandy/surfing beach of Woolacombe and offers accommodation for up to 4 people (with a comfortable sofa bed provided in the sitting room).

This lovely apartment offers open plan dining/living area with sliding doors leading out onto the lovely decked balcony which makes the most of this wonderful position. The property offers a lovely light and airy feel with views of the rolling countryside and white sandy beaches that stretch for miles.

The kitchen is well fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine, a fridge/freezer, electric oven and gas hob.

The lounge has a leather sofa - bed which can accommodate a further two guests.

The master bedroom has an en-suite door leading to the bathroom. Helpfully there is also another door off from the hallway, that also leads to the bathroom, handy if additional guests are staying and sleeping in the lounge. The bathroom is fitted with a shower over the bath. The master bedroom is spacious and provides a wardrobe, chest draws and two side cabinets.

Southover apartment is situated amongst four other apartments but has its own door and lobby area. There is parking for one vehicle (a clearly marked bay no.5). Steps lead up (on the right hand side) to the apartment door. Though the garden at the rear of the property is not for general use, the washing line at its rear is allocated for use with other guests at Southover Apartments. The decked balcony which is accessed from the main living room area is equipped with table and chairs for outside dining.

In view of the steps leading up to the apartment the property is not suitable for restricted mobility.

The property is pet friendly and there are some wonderful walks to be enjoyed very closeby on the coast path through the National Trust ground at Morte Point, up to Mortehoe and of course along the beautiful sandy beaches towards Putsborough. Barricane Beach is a hidden shell beach towards Mortehoe, which is dog friendly and also, during summer months, has a cafe which most evenings, serves wonderful authentic Sri Lankan curries ... watching the sunset sitting on the beach with a bottle of wine and enjoying a fine curry is a great experience!

Loved woolacombe but felt that accommodation was very expensive for a 4 night stay

Owner's Response: I was greatly saddened by the guests comments. Nothing was mentioned during her stay and the price and what is received by detailed description and pictures are completely accurate. Up until this we have had glowing reviews for the apartment but sadly the apartment didn't suit this guest. I do absolutely try my best and always open to constructive points of improvement! I believe the other many wonderful reviews reflect what a lovely apartment this is.

Perfect location

The location was perfect for this spacious one bedroom apartment; clean, tidy, comfy beds and lovely to have fresh milk, coffee, tea and biscuits on arrival.

The view is amazing!

One tiny thing, the extractor fan vent in the bathroom, flapped noisily.

We would definitely rebook and recommend.

Lovely apartment, fabulous views!!

We had a fantastic holiday in Woolacombe, our 2 year old absoloutely loved the beach. Had a slight issue on arrival, as we were not able to gain entry to the apartment as the previous guests had changed the code to the key safe. However this was quickly rectified and we were given an extra night at no charge. Fantastic customer service. We had a great time in Woolacombe and would certainly return again.

A wide stretch of sand, popular with families, walkers and surfers, Woolacombe in Devon has been named not only as the best beach in Britain but was listed fourth in the top European beaches compiled from reviews on TripAdvisor.

The three miles of white sands, backed by rolling dunes, mean that even in the height of summer, it’s easy for visitors to find their very own bit to stretch out on. There’s plenty of space for games, whether it’s beach cricket, volleyball, frisbee or sandcastle building.

It’s wonderful for children too, with rock pools to splash about it, pristine water, and clean, gently sloping sands monitored by lifeguards. And dog lovers are welcome - there’s a special section where pooches can run free.

The small villages of Woolacombe and Mortehoe are home to some wonderful pubs, restaurants, family attractions and shops.

Surfers and bodyboarders are attracted by world-class surf breaks, while active landlubbers are catered for too, even in the depths of winter, with a wonderful network of clifftop walks that take in sweeping views of the sands.

Scramble up the stegosaurus' back of Morte Point's wild headland and spot seals basking in small coves. Or take your pick of beautiful beaches to relax, unwind and play.

Wander along the South West Coast Path as you come across small coves, outcrops and jagged slate cliffs and connect with this coastlines Victorian past as you enjoy the Torrs walk above Ilfracombe, created for the enjoyment of Victorian tourists many years ago.
