This beautiful property built on the famous private resort of playas de fornells, has been lovingly improved and renovated so it now represents a holiday home of real distinction and unbeatable quality. Everything from the tea spoons to the terrace furniture has been chosen for its comfort, style and quality making this, we feel sure, one of the best equipped and furnished holiday homes in menorca. If you are searching for a holiday home of exquisite quality set in a sensational location then look no further. The location is stunning and has won the prestigious award of 'a place of outstanding beauty' by the spanish tourist board.

The property itself is entered from the spacious terrace and you will notice immediately the stunning views to the sea just 20 yards away. Upon entering through the double glazed french doors into the capacious lounge,

The large bathroom has benefit of a wall to wall shower with rain forest shower head. Inside the large and spacious bedroom there is a king size bed with luxury mattress and wall to wall wardrobe. The double window looks out to the sea.

The kitchen has been fully modernised and includes a breakfast bar and full size table with 4 dining chairs, a full size cooker with ceramic hob and modern extractor. The fridge/freezer is frost free and includes an ice maker. We have also added for 2017 a super speed USB charger for your mobile devices. There is a . full compliment of pots/pans/cutlery and crockery enough for 4 people and all cupboards are fitted with soft closing hinges.

The property is located alongside the sea in a small private community that has extensive lush tropical gardens with ponds, waterfall, patio's and lawned areas for you to laze and relax in and around. Out side the home is a private covered terrace and a little garden with tamarisk tree's and wonderful open views of the sea.

The resort although small and private has all the amenities you need including bars/restaurants a beautiful sandy beach, bus service to local towns and capital of Mahon.

We have 24/7 management on the resort in case of any unforeseen problems.

Attractive resort, lovely flat but location problematic

This review is unfortunately mixed. 'Unfortunately', because the flat itself is lovely and the problems are probably beyond the owners' control.

Positives: The owners have taken great care to ensure the flat is attractively decorated and has everything you could need. There are plenty of hangers and lots of well-organised storage space. The kitchen is well-equipped and the shower is modern and has good water pressure. The bed is comfortable. When there are no cars in the parking area, there is a good sea view from the terrace. There is good snorkelling off the small pebble beaches in front of the flat, there were always loungers on the promontory which has lovely, wide sea views. The complex at Playa de Fornells is very attractive and we'd definitely consider returning.

Negatives: The terrace looks directly onto car parking, with the parking area between the terrace and the sea. We imagine this would have been less of an issue when the parking was only for residents. However, on 20 June 2016, a tapas bar, Isabella's, opened on the other side of the car park - i.e. about 30 metres from the terrace. Isabella's is open from 11am until 2am. The staff at Isabella's were very pleasant and the bar itself is attractive, upmarket and although it has music, this is rarely audible from the flat. The problem is the huge volume of cars, other vehicles and people using the car park. There are lorries delivering to the bar in the morning. It is relatively quiet in the afternoons, but from about 5pm, there is constant traffic, with on average at least 30 cars in the car park and constant comings and goings as some people leave and others arrive, all jockeying for parking. Food is served until midnight and the bar usually closes about 2am. Most nights people were arguing or talking loudly at length outside the flat at 1 or 2am. In addition, the main rubbish bins are in the car park and every night between about midnight and 1am, a large rubbish lorry came to empty the bins. For us, the car parking really detracted from our enjoyment as we would normally have had dinner or drinks on our terrace in the evening, but there was lots of traffic, no privacy and no view at this time.

That said, we enjoyed ourselves by being flexible and accommodating the situation. So we became friendly with Isabella's staff, made use of their WiFi and had a drink there now and then. We also rented a car and spent more time out than we would normally have wished.

Clean and well equipped apartment

My wife and I spent one week in this apartment in June. The property was very clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable. There are a couple of small supermarkets within easy reach.

There is a view of the sea from the patio. I would question the owner's description of the patio as "spacious" and we found there was little privacy as the patio is only a few feet away from the car park which services not only the apartments but also a restaurant less than 40 yards away. The restaurant was being refurbished and re-stocked during our stay and there was a constant stream of vehicles pulling in and out of the car park from 7.30am. When open I can only assume this to be very busy with customers' vehicles although the owner claims there has only ever been a problem in the past during the month of August.
