About Nicola

Hello, I'm Nicola. I have lived in Braunton for 25 years. I love living here as it is so convenient to the beaches, Exmoor and the other wonderful activities this area has to offer. I love walking my dog Jessy, swimming, gardening and spending time with my family. We enjoy having picnics and walking along the coastal path and Exmoor and chilling out on one of the amazing local beaches.

Nicola purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Nicola chose Braunton

This property is ideal for a couple. There is a lovely garden area, with garden furniture, a chiminea, lavender beds and shrubs. There is also an area with a hosepipe for washing surfboards and walking boots/wellies plus a wetsuit hanging rack. There is parking for one car outside and inside storage for bikes, surfboards and wellies.

What makes this cottage unique

Dove Cottage is a 30 second walk to the Tarka Trail for coastal and town walks or cycle rides. The village is just a 10 minute level walk along the Tarka Trail. The cottage is on the ground floor and has a beautiful south facing garden. There are several pretty local walks from Dove Cottage without having to use your car. One of the which is a lovely stroll along the river bank towards the beach - Crow Point.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

Dove cottage is located in a quiet spot at the edge of the village, but close enough to walk to shops, cafes and pubs. The cottage itself is clean, has modern fittings, everything you need for a great holiday. Wi fi to stay in touch with home was a much appreciated added bonus we didn't expect.

Nicola, the owner, greeted us on arrival and let us know if we needed anything to let her know. The scones and clotted cream were a really nice welcome too.

Our next stay in Devon, when ever that may be, will defiantly be in Dove cottage.

Idyllic and cosy cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

A huge thanks to Nicola and Dave for letting us stay in their wonderful and homely cottage in beautiful North Devon. We received a very warm welcome upon our arrival and were grateful that Nicola took the time to show us around the cottage and highlight local points of interest to explore. We were pleasantly surprised to find a full supply of coffee, tea bags, milk, scones and jam/cream for cream teas, as well as a disposable BBQ and rucksack stocked with picnic-ware and bottles of water.

The cottage itself was clean, light and airy and had the most comfortable bed we've come across for as long as we can remember! A beautiful garden and an ideal location for exploring Braunton Burrows and various local beaches; also a short walk to the local Tesco as well as the centre of the village with various shops, friendly pubs and lovely restaurants, all with excellent service.

We loved our stay and only wish we could have stayed another week! We will definitely consider returning and we will also highly recommend to our family and friends. Thank you again!

We had a fantastic holiday at dove cottage it has been finished to a high standard the photos really don't do the place justice the owners have added everything you need real luxury. From the moment we arrived we new we were in for a real treat the place was so relaxing we spent most of our week at the cottage as it was so comfortable the garden is lovely with lots of lavender the spell was really nice when sitting with a glass of wine in the evening . All in all a 5 star holiday cottage the best we have ever stayed in thank you to the owners we can't wait to return

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed in and around Braunton many times we have had a range of experiences with our accommodation choices. This property has been the best. The photos do not do justice to the size of the property - or how well it is set up if you are bringing bikes, surf boards/body boards. It has everything you need for a great self catering holiday - and a lovely garden to chill out in. It is well located - an easy walk to the town centre, with the Tarka Trail right on the door step. I can't recommend it - and the hosts - enough.
