Beautiful traditional chalet sleeps 10, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms

Full of charm and character and close to the slopes and village center, and recently renovated, this traditional chalet is the ideal location for a party of 10. The Chalet is situated just before the village of St Jean de Sixt , which is a 5 minute drive to the ski domains of Grand-Bornand and La Clusaz and a great cycling and trekking destination in the summer months.

The chalet has just been renovated and modernised with new finishes throughout, now stylishly decorated in keeping with the lovely rustic feel of the chalet.

Cosy and comfortable, it has a large convivial kitchen/dining area with an adjoining lounge with wood burning stove, 1 lounge/tv room/bedroom, 4 double/twin bedrooms, ensuite and 2 bathrooms.

The chalet benefits from 2 large terraces for alfresco dining in summer and offers lovely views over the valley throughout the seasons.

On Entry to the chalet is a lobby area with a staircase to your right that takes you up to the main sleeping area. Straight ahead past the lobby is an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge with wood burning stove . A large rustic dining table seats up to 10 people. Doors open out onto a balcony with grape vines and views over the valley. Adjacent to the dining area is the TV room which also has bunk beds in one corner . Wifi internet , English satellite and French channels are available. This level benefits from a large bathroom with freestanding bath shower and basin. On the top floor are 4 bedrooms, 3 double rooms and one twin room . One double room has an ensuite bathroom . The other bathroom to share has a shower and toilet . To access the laundry and lower ground floor you must exit at the entry level and take steps down the side of the house to enter from a wooden terraced area . There is a washing machine, dryer sink and because of the boiler being in this area, a good place for drying out your ski gear!

Outside at the entrance is a boot storage shed with heated boot warmers for winter and all the equipment for barbeque in summer. A pile of firewood is also at your disposal .

You can park as number of cars at the property with 3 allocated space and plenty of spaces along the main road. You can also travel using the communal buses 62 and 63 linking the Chalet to Annecy on one side and LA Clusaz/Grand Bornand on the other. The Ski buses depart from St Jean de Sixt town center, 500m away.

The gated garden is a good area for children to play whilst parents enjoy the views and alfresco dinning from the main terrasse.

Lovely place to stay

Really enjoyed our stay. Clean, fantastic kitchen and sitting area. Great view. Would be stunning in summer. Good value for money. You do need to have a car but then skiing at La Clusaz is only 5 min drive.

A lovely chalet that we would happily stay in again. Beautifully decorated and well maintained. The heated boot room was fantastic. St Jean is equidistant between Le Grand Bornand and La Clusaz. We skied in both. It helps to have a car. St Jean has a great boulangerie and veg shop.

Great chalet with all the mod cons.

Chalet is really stunning and has everything you need for a winter ski trip. Heated boot room, comfy beds and the best fitted out kitchen I've had in a chalet. The wood burner in the main lounge makes for a great end to a cold day out on the slopes.

Wonderful stay in a great location

The chalet provided us with a great base to explore the surrounding area and is authentically decorated. It had everything we needed including a washing/games room downstairs, perfect for storing our bikes, to a well stocked kitchen with open plan eating ideal for socialising. The chunky table on the lovely veranda was great on the hotter days. A 15 minute walk takes you to the small market square with good tourist office and a few places to eat and shop. Locally the summer luge at Le Clusaz was fun as was the pool at Le Grand Bormand. Down the valley at Thones is a larger supermarket and plenty more cultural and sporting activities. Local walks and challenging cycle routes also provide ideal alternatives for the more active! Overall a wonderful week spent with family and friends.

Wonderful stay in really pretty property

The location was perfect - we drove up into the mountains one day and then spent another couple of days in and around Annecy. The property is very well equipped, clean and well maintained. It is on the outskirts of the village of St Jean de Sixt which has various shops and a great bakery. The children (16,15 and 12) loved Annecy and went swimming in the lake and hired a pedalo. We would definitely recommend this property.

The property is just before the village of St Jean de Sixt, the village between La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand . It has parking at the entrance of the property for 2 cars and more parking spaces available on the lower side of the property.

The chalet is perfectly located for road cycling and trekking in summer, with easy access to amazing mountains roads, some of them part of Le Tour de France. The chalet also has plenty of storage space and a great "summer room" to hang out and work on bikes.
