There is a private enclosed garden with garden furniture and a wooden summer house for guests to enjoy in the shared front garden. Downstairs there is a hallway leading to the lounge and south-west facing conservatory/dining room, a large double bedroom with Superking size bed, a shower room and small kitchen. For visitors with limited mobility please note that there are two steps to get into the downstairs bedroom and into the lounge.

There are footpaths across the fields at the end of the lane going to the beautiful village of Keyhaven with its marina and ferry to Hurst Castle. From here you can walk the coastal path all the way to Lymington past the beautiful salt marshes. The Pleasure Grounds Nature Reserve Walks are also nearby. Milford-on-Sea has 5 pubs and several friendly restaurants. If you like fine dining, Verveine in Milford on Sea is an excellent fish restaurant which was rated 93 best restaurant in the UK in 2016 by Daily Telegraph and has won several awards.

The beaches have spectacular views over the Isle of Wight and Needles and there are stunning clifftop walks. The renowned 27 hole Barton-on-Sea Golf Club is only a five minute drive away

Milford-on-Sea: Milford-on-Sea is a quiet coastal village with spectacular views over the Sea to the Isle of Wight. Ferries across to the Island can be taken from Lymington and Keyhaven as can boat trips and fishing trips. A car is useful to enjoy the area but is not essential as there are buses to Lymington and from there to other New Forest villages and Southampton, and in the other direction to Bournemouth. It is the ideal place to explore the New Forest National Park and the stunning coastal areas. The area is a haven for wildlife lovers who can see horses, deer and the rare birds who frequent the salt marshes and coastal areas. Cherry Trees holiday annex is a delightful self-catering holiday home for both families, and couples alike. It has WiFi and TV giving access to many TV channels as well as tourist information, games and books for your holiday enjoyment. We provide information on many local walks for you to enjoy. Parking and cycling: The holiday home is at the end of a private lane and there is room for one car to be parked in the drive outside of the property. A second car or visitors cars need to be parked on the main road at the end of the lane or a side road such as Manor Road. Bikes can be stored in the summer house or are available to hire from many outlets and there are numerous cycle tracks throughout the New Forest National Park.

Cyclists can take full advantage of Milford on Sea's coastal paths and cycle all the way to Lymington and beyond enjoying the spectacle coastal views and nature reserve at Keyhaven.

Swimming and beaches: The quiet beaches at Milford - on- Sea are safe for swimming and great for people of all ages. The views over to Island are sublime. The pristine beaches are pebbles and sand. Dogs are allowed all year round but are restricted to certain parts in the summer. More lively beaches are found in Bournemouth which boasts seven miles of golden sand, lifeguards and entertainment. There are plenty of beach car parks in Milford-on-Sea but why not walk from Pine View Cottage and save energy. There are toilets and cafes by the beach. About Sheri Gadd

Having travelled all over the world, my family and I settled in the beautiful, coastal village of Milford on Sea where we have remained for the last 26 years. When you live somewhere so beautiful, why would you want to move?

My three daughters grew up here and have since moved away and as the house is much too large for my husband and myself we have decided to welcome visitors to stay in our delightful, self contained, holiday annex, which was designed for our elderly mother and so comes equipped with grab rails and an induction hob/cooker (the safest).

I speak enough French and German to get by.

I have two dogs, a Tibetan Terrier and a Lowchen who are confirmed to our personal back garden.

I worked as a full time teacher in Further Education for many years and now teach Mindfulness Meditation.

Sheri Gadd purchased this apartment in 1990

Why Sheri Gadd chose Milford on Sea

Our home is a large country house near the village church in Milford on Sea. It is situated at the end of a private lane and is very peaceful and quiet. It has a self contained annex for visitors to enjoy as a holiday home with their own private garden. There is room for one guests car in the driveway and guests can share the front garden and make use of the summer house to enjoy a peaceful break.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is a real tranquil retreat away from village roads and holiday traffic. However, it is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village and a further 5 minutes to the beach. Opposite the entrance of the lane are fields with footpaths across to Keyhaven. The area has so much to offer and is ideal for exploring the coastal paths and New Forest.

A pleasant stay in a beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

We didn't know the area at all and found Milford-on-Sea a jewel. There is much to see and do in the surrounding countryside, and it is well worth a visit. The annex was comfortable and well stocked with what was needed for a comfortable stay. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, and they went the extra mile on more than one occasion. The village is walking distance from the house as is the Norman church which is worth a visit. Be sure to eat at La Perle restaurant. It is a gem.

Peaceful and well located

  • 5 of 5

Owners are very friendly and we received a great welcome on arrival. I was surprised at how quiet the location is (something we're not always used to coming from the outer suburbs of London) which was great. House was comfortable and clean and the kitchen, although smaller than we're used to, easily allowed us to get on with preparing full meals as appliances are new. The kids loved having a room on a separate floor to parents and they made themselves very much at home with their own en suite bathroom. Great location for getting to the Lymington ferry to the Isle of Wight and of course the whole of the New Forest. Just wished we could have stayed a bit longer and had the time to explore the immediate area more. Hopefully that will happen another time in the not too distant future!

We have just had a most enjoyable holiday at Cherry Trees – we had little difficulty finding it (ex-Boy Scout!) and were warmly welcomed by Sheri. She was very informative about the property and its features and the surrounding area. We particularly liked the two bathrooms – with the upstairs almost a self-contained unit enjoyed by our son. The main bedroom downstairs boasted a super-king sized bed, with a ceiling fan above the bed – extremely welcome as for five days during our stay the temperature climbed up to 30° Celsius!. We also had use of a conservatory as part of the property.

Other features included access to part of the garden with a picnic bench and an outside table for our use, and a summer house – a welcome sanctuary from the heat in the afternoons. The Wi-Fi was fine – accessible in any part of the house, with a respectable speed. There was also a large (40”?) flat screen TV with FreeView channels.

Everything was on a grand scale – apart from the kitchen, which (as noted on the website) was small – but we found it large enough for our holiday cooking.

Only problem was the outside door of the conservatory – this was difficult to close and to secure – we reported this and are sure it will soon be rectified.

Milford on Sea is an interesting village with plenty of local shops, lots of pubs (6?) and restaurants/tearooms. For our sea bathing we were close to the Needles Eye Cafe – highly recommended. We also enjoyed a delightful meal at the Cedar Tree Restaurant – part of the South Lawn Hotel (within walking distance of Cherry Trees).

Visits to Hurst Castle (use the ferry) and Highcliffe Castle are recommended.

Many thanks Sheri for a lovely holiday – we might be back!

Friendly welcome received

  • 3 of 5

The property was a little difficult to find as it is down a lane off the main road but when we did get there we were warmly welcomed and shown accommodation and given details of how everything worked. The property was clean and mostly adequately equipped although the conservatory had a few issues with one window not shutting and the door a bit stiff. Also it was only possible to get WIFI in the upstairs bedroom or sitting on the stairs. The property was about a ten minute walk to the village centre where there were a number of shops and restaurants. We would specifically recommend Britannia Thai restaurant.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the area. WiFi signal varies and can sometimes be good and sometimes less good but is never great as we are unable to get fast fibre optic broadband in this area at present.
