2 bedroom cottage, five minutes' from Lincoln's stunning cathedral and castle

No. 24 Church Lane is a luxurious, bright and airy holiday cottage, nestled in the heart of historic uphill Lincoln. Situated in a delightful row of terraced cottages, No. 24 has been renovated to an exceptional standard, retaining its unique character, whilst integrating the highest standards of home comforts and modern conveniences. No. 24 offers a peaceful welcome for up to 4 holiday makers.

Inside, there is a great feeling of light and cosiness. A comfortable sofa sits beside the original fireplace and newly installed log burner, in the rustic tiled living space. The cottage comes complete with well equipped kitchen, state of the art wet room and two bedrooms.

Within a 5 minute walk of the cottage, you will find yourself in uphill Lincoln, also known as the Bailgate area or Cathedral Quarter. Set on cobbled streets with a quaint yet historic atmosphere, the area is both unique and vibrant. Steeped in history, there is a plethora of independent retailers, including lovely tea rooms, cafes, bakeries, delis and restaurants, where you can enjoy tapas and Thai curries to traditional fish and chips.

After a stroll down Steep Hill and through the historic Stonebow Arch, you will find yourself surrounded by boats and the buzzing atmosphere of the Brayford Waterfront, where you can relax by the water or take a boat trip down the river Witham.

Lincoln also has a busy cultural quarter, with its Theatre Royal, The Collection, Drill Hall and many more attractions.

The annual highlight of the Cathedral Quarter is the Lincoln Christmas Market, a magical event that brings the whole of Lincoln to life, but especially the Bailgate.

We have lived in and around Lincoln for more than 40 years and we love it!

On your travels, have you ever come across a small, empty cottage and stopped to take a closer look? For the last 6 years, we have been driving past the quaint row of cottages on Church Lane thinking how lovely they were and how rarely they came on the market...until one day we saw a for sale sign and we just had to take a look. The garden was a sorry empty space and the house had been abandoned after being part renovated, and there was no kitchen or bathroom to speak of, but the cottage was full of charm...all it needed was some vision and a lot of tender loving care.

This is how it all began in 2014 and now No. 24 is ready to be enjoyed by you.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage manages to be both airy and yet small but perfectly formed, which is one of the things we loved about it instantly. We've kept the decor both simple and luxurious, so you can really switch off in a peaceful environment which feels like you are pampering yourself.

Fabulous cottage in prime location for Lincoln Bailgate and Steep Hill area

We had a lovely weekend at this beautiful cottage, which catered for our every need. Really comfortable and beautifully furnished property with lots of extra finishing touches including a delicious welcome basket. Thank you. We were there for a 50th birthday and moving our daughter in to University. Cottage is in a prime location for the Bailgate area, top of Steep Hill, just a short walk to the Castle and Cathedral and the beautiful city of Lincoln. Plenty on offer from culture to shopping, and down to the Brayford Quay and University. Plenty choice in restaurants, and cafes. Something for everyone. Many thanks.

Fantastic accommodation and location

The house was very well equipped and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend. It was just a short stroll to the Castle & Cathedral. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We had a lovely break exploring Lincoln.

A lovely cottage in a fab situation!

We had a great stay at the cottage in Lincoln. The cottage is beautifully presented, clean, modern and has everything you require for your stay. It is situated perfectly only a few minutes walk to the cathedral and castle. The owners were also lovely, good contact from them and nothing was too much for them. Will definately recommend to others and return in the future.

Perfect location for a visit to Lincoln

The cottage was beautifully furnished and the kitchen had everything one would need. It was in easy walking distance to the castle, the cathedral, and the 'hill'. We would definitely recommend this place to others and we would use it again, should we return to Lincoln. The owners left a 'welcome basket' that was much appreciated and their daughter explained everything we needed to know (except how to use a manual can opener, which none of us could figure out! Perhaps we are too old).

Fees No additional mandatory fees

See website for full details. Our quoted prices are for accommodation only. All prices include bed linen and towels, electricity, gas, water, fuel, central heating and local taxes. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the property. No daily housekeeping service is provided. Please note that no smoking is permitted in the property.
 
Booking:
Short breaks are a minimum of 2 night stays.
One week booking is Saturday to Saturday, unless otherwise agreed.
 
Payment:
An advance payment upon booking of 50% of the rental rate is required to secure the booking. This advance payment will be applied toward the rent. The balance of rent is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. Bookings taken within 6 weeks of arrival at the Property must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments to be made via bank transfer, cheque or via Owners Direct and one person must make the payment in full. No bank charges will be accepted by the owners.
 
Cancellations:
A 6 week notice period is required for cancellation. Cancellations made 6 weeks (or more) prior to arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations that are made within 6 weeks of the arrival date forfeit the 50% reservation deposit and cancellations made within 14 days of the arrival date forfeit 75% of the total cost of the booking.
 
A booking obtained under false pretence will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
 
Arrival and departure:
We would ask that the cottage is left in the same condition and cleanliness as at the commencement of the holiday.
Check in is from 3pm on the day you’re due to arrive. Check out is by 10.30am on your agreed departure dates.
Keys to be returned to the key safe on the outside of the house. You will receive check-in instructions one week before you arrive.

No pets allowed; No smoking is allowed;Leave the cottage without damage; All rubbish to be placed in rubbish bin and soiled dishes in the dishwasher
