About the property

2 bedrooms, Bath / shower room, seperate toilet, sleeps 4

Recently fully refurbished the apartment is bright, airy and modern. The lounge/dining area is stylishly furnished with two comfortable leather sofas and a dining table that seats 6. The 'American' kitchen is practically equipped with oven, halogon hob, fridge and washing machine. Patio doors lead out on to the balcony with fantastic views over the waterways of Port Grimaud and beyond to St Tropez. The master bedroom has a large double bed, dressing table with mirror, bedside tables with lamps and a large wardrobe. The second bedroom has twin beds, a dressing table with mirror, bedside table with lamp and a large wardrobe.

Port Grimaud: Designed in 1996 by French architect and sailor, Francoise Spoerry, Port Grimaud overlooks the Gulf of St. Tropez and captures the atmosphere of a Venetian fishing village but with all the colours of Provence. Small stone bridges link pretty streets heavy with the scent of flowers, the network of canals is lined with pastel coloured homes and shady squares with cafes, boutiques and restaurants, all giving this classified historical monument a unique atmosphere. With its sheltered position and easy access to the Gulf, Port Grimaud is a dream come true for boating fans, no two properties are alike and most have their own mooring. In addition to organised water tours you can hire your own small motor boat and spend hours sailing the canals and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The best way to visit the nearby towns of St. Tropez and Ste Maxime is by the regular ferry from the marina. The ferry also provides spectacular views of the Gulf and, on a clear day, even as far as the Alps

St Tropez : Claimed to be the most visited village in the world, St Tropez started life in 68 AD as a tiny fishing port. At the turn of the 20 th century the irredescent light and picturesque surroundings attracted a host of artists. In the mid 50's a young Franco Russian film maker, Roger Vadim, made his first feature film 'And god created woman' on the sun dazzled beaches. The film was seen the world over and attracted film stars, playboys and top models to spend sun soaked days on Pampelone beach and starry nights in St Tropez. Still today many celebrities holiday in the area and can often be seen wandering through the small streets with designer bags. You can either just sit in a cafe sipping iced coffee people watching or saunter along the bustling waterfront amongst artists selling their work and be amazed by the beautiful boats. For those who need to indulge in retail therapy, St Tropez has an impressive selection of unusual and designer shops, including a typical Provencal market every Sat

Food and Wine: France is renowned the world over for its cuisine and this area of Provence is no exception. Dining out can be a truly fantastic experience with everything from Michelin star restaurants to beach bars where you can eat superb seafood with your toes in the Med. St Tropez has a variety of superb restaurants but to fully appreciate the best of local cuisine you must visit the villages, farms and auberges close by. Many restaurants offer fixed price menus, these are often a speciality and offer good value. Ask when booking for a list of the best local restaurants. This is a wine producing area and there are many wine trails that take you from one chateau to the next where you can taste and buy the wine produced. The local Provence speciality is Rose and you will see most people drinking it at restaurants. Apart from buying wine direct from the Chateau the best place to sample and buy is at the local co-operative or Vigerons; there are two close by (St Tropez and Grimaud) both worth a visit

The apartment is situated on the third floor of what was originally built as a windmill with its own private secure access, lift and staircase. From the balcony there are fantastic views along the canals and in the distance the famous St Tropez clock tower, you can either relax in sun loungers enjoying the view or eat in true Mediterranean style under the sunshade. The peaceful 'Place de Spoery' is a 5 min walk from the apartment and has a patiserie, restaurants, cafe and shops. The bustling main square 'Place du Marche' is a 10 min walk away and has restaurants, cafes, shops and a market (Sun & Thu). There are two beaches within 10 min walk, both have fantastic views and beach bars. The large beach is family orientated with lots of activities whereas the small beach is more peaceful. The best way to see and get around Port Grimaud is by boat, the 'Coche d'Eau' (water coach) stops just outside the apartment every hour and calls at both squares and beaches. This service is free to guest

I think the best location in Port Gruimud

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 weeks staying at this wonderful well equipped and clean apartment in Port Gruimud it's private and it's safe location that we both enjoyed and only a few mins walk from the apartment to the entrance to Port Gruimud where we spent many nights eating out at these lovely restraunts in PG.

Our 2 weeks was amazing and we didn't want to come home ... Dealing with David was a pleasure any questions that i had .. A call or email was answered quickly... I've stayed in PG before 20 years ago in an apartment not far from this one so I know the area but this location i think hit the mark and in the heart of the lagoon city and I can say that if its ok with David we will be going back next year and I personally recommend this property ..

We love this place!

  • 5 of 5

We had another wonderful stay at this apartment, I believe it was our 5th time. Such a peaceful setting and a great place to totally unwind.

The apartment is fully equipped including towels and bedding and has a comfortable homely feel. It has always been hassle free booking with the owner David, and Nicola has always made sure the apartment has been ready for us and been available if we had any queries.

There are so many lovely beaches just a short drive away including cavalier and pardigon. But we also never tire of the local beaches, especially the small beach, about a 10 minute stroll away.

When reading through the comments in the guest book in the apartment , the reviews have always been very positive.

We are really hoping to return again this year if we get the opportunity.

Great location and views

  • 4 of 5

Great location and views, David the owner was very helpful and so was Nicola who met us at the apartment. Car parking just opposite apartment, Water taxi right outside, beaches 15 minute walk or Water taxi. If visiting St Tropez or St Maxime I would suggest taking the boat as the coast road can get very busy. Have recommend to friends and we will be booking again next year

Lovely apartment and view

  • 5 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in Port-Grimaud. The apartment is very well kept and all was ready for us on arrival. Local agent was easy to contact and very flexible on times for meeting us with keys, etc. Apart from a couple of trips to the large supermarket, we didn't need our car at all for the week. Restaurants, beaches, markets, etc. within easy walking distance and even, as we were, a little early in the season, we still used the little road train to go up to the old village and the boat to go over for a wonderful lunch in St Tropez.

We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Perfect apartment in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week and had the most incredible time. It was my first time in Port Grimaud and I will definitely be going back. The apartment was spacious and offered everything we needed. It is in an ideal location with an easy walk to Port Grimaud town or the beach with the balcony offering stunning views of the canals. Port grimaud itself is an amazing destination with beautiful scenery, perfect beaches and incredible restaurants. I would definitely recommend taking a boat trip around the area to enjoy it to a maximum. A day trip to lively Saint Tropez or picturesque local villages like garrant are easily done by car and really worthwhile. Booking was quick & easy, thanks to David’s timely responses to the queries we had - we will definitely be going back to Port Grimaud and this apartment!

Lovely place, lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

Firstly, the apartment was as expected from reading the description and other reviews - clean, suitably equipped for simple home catering and just fine for a family of 4 with its comfortable double bed and two single beds in the 2nd bedroom. Balcony view was lovely - first thing in the morning to watch the joggers and people atending their boats as the sun came up (if you're up around 6.30am!) or to get those initial morning rays over breakfast - and then later in the evening as people returned from their cruises. The free Water Taxi was reliable and useful for transporting the 4 of us plus various beach items to either the large or small beaches depending on our mood. The large beach has better waves (although still very safe for young kids) and adjoining facilities - but is more crowded in high season. We drove (13 hours to/from Calais) and the car parking space was therefore well worth the extra cost. This year we stayed put most of the time - popping over to St Tropez to check out the market (Tues and Sats) by boat (36 euros for the 4 of us) and a bit of car exploration here and there. The coast road is obviously very busy in August so if you choose to be on it either be very patient and enjoy the view whilst you wait to move another metre or two - or try to be early or late. Plenty to see locally - within 20 mins drive - but Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Italy and inland Provence are all within 2 hours - we know cos we did all of this last year from our base just north of Port Grimaud. If you walk to/from the beaches allow 15 minutes. 10 minutes walk into the middle of Port Grimaud to shop, browse, eat. Overall, we knew Port Grimaud well from visiting several times last year so knew what to expect - and our expectations were well met - a relaxing and enjoyable fortnight in a beautiful location with very pleasant accomodation. Both the owner and the on-site representative were easy to comunicate with beforehand, on the day and during our stay. We had a wonderful holiday and I'm happy to recommend it to others. We will definitely consider returning.
