Beautiful semi detached cottage with beamed ceilings, and lovely farmhouse kitchen. Oil fired central heating. Living room with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. Utility room and downstairs cloakroom.

Two double rooms, two twin rooms, and space for a cot. Master bedroom has en suite with walk in shower with handrails in situ.

Family bathroom has large bath, basin and WC. Off road parking for 3 cars.

I could live in this cottage!

As advertised, this is a lovely mid-1800's cottage just outside of a small village in north Wales. It is cozy, warm, quiet, and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfy, and all of the appliances and bathrooms are modern and work well. Gwenllian and Peter are delightful and helpful. Our family of four stayed here while we explored the castles and towns of north Wales, and returning to the cottage at the end of each day was lovely. I'm absolutely sure we had more quiet and solitude than visitors staying in local hotels, which made the extra travel time to the cottage worth the time. We felt ourselves relaxing more and more as the days passed. I would love to return again for a longer stay.

Eglwysbach is a lovely quiet village. It has a tiny village school and is home to the well known and lovely Bodnant Garden. Asda and Tesco in Llandudno provide a wide range of groceries, The village also has a church and two chapels, and The Bee is the recently refurbished pub which has an award winning restaurant. Nearest surgery is in Conway.

Mount Snowdon can be found some thirty miles away in Llanberis,and there is a dry ski slope in Llandudno as well as Venue Cymru, the large theatre. Swallow falls and other attractions can be found in Betws Y Coed.

The property itself is situated opposite a farm which sells free range eggs. There are views of open countryside on all sides of the house.

Hiraethog is a strictly no smoking property. This includes the entire premises. 1 dog allowed, except a service dog, in which case a copy of the dog's ID will be required at least 28 days before entry into the property.
There is a narrow fairly steep flight of carpeted stairs in the house. There are handrails on either side. Toilet frames are available upon request, and there are handrails in the ensuite walk in shower. This is not officially classified as a disabled accessible property but some items are available due to owners disability when she lived there.

Notes:

  • I am not declaring this property wheelchair accessible because some of the larger chairs simply will not fit through the doors. However, many manual chairs will. I have handrails dotted around the property, a shower stool, raised toilet seats, a bed rail, and if required, (provided sufficient notice given) I am happy to bring a single bed downstairs ofr the duration of your stay. There is of course no charge for any of this. I can also provide somewhere for you to securely store and charge a powerchair or scooter, again of course at no cost.
