Lovely spot

  • 4 of 5

My sister & I stayed in Stanley Barn for a few days last month & it was a perfect location for exploring the delights of Derbyshire. The accommodation was well equipped & very cosy. Lovely to have the toiletries & welcome pack! Chloe was very helpful friendly & welcoming. Would certainly recommend a stay here.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time our family have stayed at Stanley Barn and we found that the barn and Tideswell village were just as great as on our first trip. The accommodation is really lovely, with our 2 children enjoying there decking level bedroom. Chloe has maintained a high level of cleanliness and her added touches of wine, bread, butter, milk chocolates, and dog treats on arrival were perfect. Another nice touch is having Eco friendly and gorgeous smelling hand soap in the kitchen and bathrooms along with shower gel in the bathroom and a plentiful supply of toilet roll! We were supplied with a large basket of wood for the wood burner which was easily lit every night. We were blessed with some good weather and enjoyed lots of great walks in the area. The village has a lovely bakery where we made daily purchases for our pack lunches and some good cafes (although not all of them allow dogs) and pubs all within easy walking distance. Calling in at The Horse and Jockey after our last days walk, we all had muddy boots and a very muddy dog but we were still made very welcome (they even gave the dog some dog biscuits!) we decided to eat there that evening, the staff were very friendly and the food was great, it was a perfect end to our stay in Tideswell. Thanks again Chloe.

Kind regards Sue and family

Lovely part of the world

  • 4 of 5

The accommodation is altogether lovely, Chloe let us use the driveway and although she offered use of the garden we felt a little awkward using it whilst people lived in the main house (saying that we were out all day and never felt we missed out). The cottage itself is great, the log burning fire was used each night and it was all clean, with everything you needed from loo paper, hand soap, tea & coffee there. The only issue we had was the softness of the master bed mattress, if this could be renewed 5stars would be given.

We would recommend a trip to Chee Dale for those wanting an adventurous walk and also a walk up Jacob's ladder. The Merchant's Yard in Tideswell was lovely to eat at and allowed the dog outside, otherwise walk to Litton to The Red Lion for character where the dogs are welcome & food is tasty.

Thanks Chloe for being a great host.

beautiful barn, very well equipped and a very welcoming owner

  • 5 of 5

Chloe was so welcoming and introduced us not only to the barn, but to the beautiful Babushka, her husky. The barn is beautifully converted and extremely well equipped, complete with a welcome bag of bread, milk wine etc, and also lovely eco products for the shower, dog treats and even a bar of chocolate! Chloe was very accomodating about our friends staying, and son turning up to do some cycling - between us we tried out all the beds and sofa beds and found them all to be extremely comfortable. There are plenty of good pubs, restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance of the house and of course, the walking is superb (as is the cycling according to our son)! We hope very much to return and would highly recommend the barn to everyone.

very interesting layout

  • 4 of 5

beautiful accomodation very clean and lots of lovely little extras(choccies, dog treats and beautiful shower gels and creams.)..very friendly welcome from Chloe the owner and Babushka the dog.Had everything needed for a self catering holiday and more. The only dissapointing thing for us was that it wasnt advertised as a shared garden and Chloes family were using the garden for a family get together and barbecue during our stay and therefore we didnt get to have the pleasure of the beautiful garden .should state that it is situated on same land as family home and that you may not have use of the garden privately as this did put a dampner on our stay.

Wonderful stay.

  • 5 of 5

Delightful property in a lovely old fashioned village. Very clean and homely. Steaks at the Horse & Jockey very good with a good selection of beers the pub had a nice ambience along with a biscuit and water for the dog. Nice meal at the George but no atmosphere. Highly recommend the fresh baked bread and cakes from the village bakery.
