About the property

Check in is 4.00pm on arrival date and check out is by 10.00am on the morning of departure. Change over days are Fridays for weekly bookings. At certain times of the year we also offer short breaks either Friday - Monday or Monday - Friday. There is on site parking for 2 cars.

The apartment building is directly on the sea front opposite the Farne Islands.The coastal path is to the front of building and is a 5 minute walk to Seahouses village amenities & the harbour with boat trips to the islands. Alternatively walk North towards Bamburgh & the beach is approx.100 yards away.

* The property is non-smoking throughout, and will accept 1 dog (there is a fee of £25)

There is on site parking for two cars one behind the other.

All bed linen and towels are supplied and includes electricity and heating

The apartment is light, bright & airy with beach views from the living room & garden views from bedrooms. There are 2 communal gardens - The garden to the front overlooks the Farne Islands with views to Bamburgh Castle and a tranquil back garden to sit relax and unwind.

The living room and kitchen are open plan and offers a comfortable relaxing space to literally watch the world go by from the comfort of your chair.

Bedroom 1 is a large master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (bath only) Bed is a super-king size which can convert to 2 full size singles on request.

Bedroom 2 is a medium sized room with double bed.

There is also a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower with glass shower screen.

About Bob & Linda Cole

We both grew up in the North East and live here still. We have been regular visitors to Seahouses and the Northumberland area certainly for most of our adult lives. We have holidayed with our children as well as regular day trips in the summer so know these beautiful area's very well. We hope others will enjoy the benefits we love too.

We feel the property is beautifully positioned opposite the Farne Islands and looking North to Bamburgh Castle. and only a 'stones throw' from the beach. We are always rested and refreshed after a visit.

Fabulous apartment that had everything we needed.

This was our first time at Seahouses and the apartment was wonderful. Everything was so clean and facilities were great. Linda is lovely and on arrival there was a bottle of wine ready for us. Just across the road was a beautiful sandy beach and it went on for miles! Overall, we loved our stay at Buckets and Spades and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely Northumberland!

Buckets and Spades was a lovely Apartment with all you could possibly need for a comfortable stay in an absolutely perfect location close to an amazing beach and far enough from the village centre to be peaceful. A few problems booking and information coming through, but that was down the website and the owners were wonderfully helpful in getting it sorted. Would thoroughly recommend staying at the property. The surrounding area is amazing. Holy Island and the Farne Islands are well worth a visit. Too many Castles to choose from almost.Stunning scenery and beautiful beaches with picture postcard towns.

Perfect position for the beach and the town.

The property is within easy walking distance of the town and straight across from the beach. Perfect position on the benches on the headland to watch the sea and the sunset...and on one occasion the dolphins as well. The nightly arrival of a heron on the rocks was an added bonus.

The flat is clean and compact with everything you could possibly need. Slight niggle of the hot water pressure and temperature and that it takes a long time to reach the tap. A shower in the ensuite would also be useful. None of this stops it being a perfect place to stay. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Bob and Linda.

We do have an ongoing programme for the apartment which we generally undertake in the winter months. This does include the very thing you commented on a shower for the en-suite bathroom. As you mentioned though the water pressure we're looking at ways to improve as it has a bearing on installing a new shower too. Hopefully in the near future!! The flat was really lovely and comfortable and everything provided for a week's holiday

When we arrived it was raining! On entering the flat it was really welcoming as the heater was on to take the chill off (in June/July!), a bottle of wine had been left for us which was very much appreciated and it was lovely and comfortable. Just across the road from the beach so enjoyed walks along the beach and had some lovely trips out to Alnwick, Amble, Craster and walked along the cliff to the castle ruins, Berwick on Tweed and walked the walls and explored the town and many more trips out. Our only downside during the week was the weather, really cold all week and one day of heavy rain but it didn't spoil our holiday. It was lovely to be able to sit at the table for breakfast and watch people walking along the beach - really miss that view now that we're home. Would love to revisit Seahouses again at some future time - this was our third visit to the area over the last 15 years.

Ideal location in Northumberland

The flat is very comfortable and ideally situated if you want to explore the coast, go to the Farne Islands, and visit the Borders. There is everything you need in the apartment to feel at home. You have a wonderful view from the living room. The decoration is lovely and characteristic of seaside houses. We really enjoyed our stay very much!

Bamburgh Castle

Visit the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses to see Grey Seals, Puffins and various other sea birds depending on the season.

There are lots of opportunities for walking in the area from a simple walk North along the beach from Seahouses to Bamburgh and a variety of coastal walks, to a much different experience of walking in the Cheviot Hills.
