Beautiful beach, great location

  • 4 of 5

The flat was clean and comfortable. The new shower room is a lovely addition. We enjoyed being on the outskirts of the town, with a short walk to the beach. It was useful having two bathrooms.

Owner's Response: Coral I am pleased you enjoyed your stay, being on the outskirts gives you car parking which is a premium in the centre. The new shower room has just been completed, and we will add photos on to the web site shortly.

Lovely clean property, great location.

Very clean, beautifully decorated flat in a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast. Wonderful hosts who were very understanding when I was faced with a family funeral. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.

great flat, great town, and lovely people!

had booked to stay the weekend of the 'beast of the east' and got snowed off, without any stress bob and linda happily moved us back a week and were in touch frequently to relay weather/road reports.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay eventually, the Beast from the East certainly caused some problems with closed roads etc, but i am glad it did not stop you from having a great weekend. Bob& Linda

Perfect location, (Beaches ,Castles & Pubs) & Ideal accomodation which was extremely well equipped.

  • 5 of 5

For late October, despite appalling advance forecasts the weather was excellent. The location was ideal for touring a lot of National Trust and English Heritage properties.

The time of year was perfect for seeing the Grey Seal pubs in the waters and on the rocks around the 'Farne Islands' during a one and a half hour boat trip around same. The villages and Towns whether on the coast or inland were all extremely pretty and in many aspects gave a better feel than the Cotswolds, peak District or Lakes! The whole area is one of the best kept tourist secrets in the country!

The property was overlooking the sea within easy reach of one of the best/longest/cleanest beaches we had ever seen anywhere in the world and our Shetland Sheepdog thought he was in Heaven. It was only a ten minute walk to the centre of Seahouses with its 3 centrally located fish & chip shops/restaurants, its four or so pubs/restaurants, its harbour and numerous small shops of all descriptions. We will certainly return to this area and property if available when we are!

Owner's Response: Graham I totally agree with everything you have said on the review, and in particular your love of the beach, i have always had the view that its the finest in the world not only for dogs but children as well far away from distractions of amusements and shops just to play as they should on a safe clean beach witch is treated with respect by the people who use it. Look forward to seeing you return. Bob & Linda

A good place to stay, easy to get to and well set up.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay here, three adults and one dog. The flat has good access to Seahouses walking along the coast road. We had everything that we needed and more. The flat was warm - much needed after a walk in the brisk wind, comfortable and quiet. The beach is very easy to access and perfect for walks. Perfect for a long weekend - Big thanks to Bob and Linda for renting this out to us.

Owner's Response: Thank you Charlotte for taking the time to add your review of Buckets and Spades. We agree it is a lovely place to stay to re-charge the batteries particularly with a walk on the beach for example. We look froward to hearing from you if you return to the Seahouses area. Best regards Linda and Bob Cole

Alnwick town and Alnwick Castle and Gardens where some of Harry Potter was filmed.

Bamburgh Castle

Visit the Farne Islands by boat from Seahouses to see Grey Seals, Puffins and various other sea birds depending on the season.

There are lots of opportunities for walking in the area from a simple walk North along the beach from Seahouses to Bamburgh and a variety of coastal walks, to a much different experience of walking in the Cheviot Hills.
