family heritage !
We like Kerhir because it's a family property
We loved this historic house., for us the "shabby chic".was genuine and part of the charm. It is an amazing building with great history. The garden was lovely and we had super BBQs . Although we had hot days the male members of our party were enthusiastic to use the free wood and we had great fires in the huge Breton hearth in the late evening . Access to the Chateau grounds and the river was great for all of us, ages from 4 to 71 years. The athletic amongst us enjoyed early morning runs! One seemed to be lost in the country but actually very close to lovely Treguier and the really wonderful beaches of North Brittany, Perros Guirec if you want a popular beach but lots lovely unspoilt beaches close to on the peninsular. Monsieur and Madame are the delightful owners and provided fresh vegetables from the garden and invited us and other guests to have drinks together one sociable evening.

A really impressive large stone built house. We were a group of motorcyclists touring Brittany. We also rented the adjoining smaller house, Manor Coz.
The location, about 60 miles from the ferry port at Roscoff is ideal, although it is possible, as one of our group did, to take the longer route from Dieppe or Calais.
The house was popular with all our group, from the very large stone fireplace to the size of the rooms and facilities. The property has not been modernised much and, to many would appear very basic. But does it matter if the crockery and cutlery does not match, the pillows are not quite what we expect, the bedroom furniture is a bit random or you risk banging your head on some of the very low doorways ?
It all adds to the character. Where else would you get a stone spiral staircase ?
Bruno, the owner was very helpful. He speaks quite good English and was willing to deal with any problems.
The only problem we really had was the Internet. We found the wifi to be quite poor. Speaking to Bruno, we found that the Internet is transmitted from his house about 60 metres away, via a transmitter and aerial . But due to the very thick stone walls, to get any decent signal meant almost leaning out of a window. He did say he was looking at having a cable laid under the lawns to make the Internet much better.
This is the third place our group has booked using this site, and when booking I only search for places with wi-fi.
Outside the property are gardens with plenty of room to relax, sit in the sun, or have a barbecue. It is possible to walk to the nearest town, a couple of miles away, where there area choice of cafes, bars, shops and supermarkets.
In conclusion, this is an excellent place to come and chill and explore Brittany. We expect to come here again. If you can, come off season when it is much quieter and much cheaper.
A charming and rustic property in a beautiful part of Brittany, a very functional property for a large family with everything you will need. The owners were very welcoming and of great help throughout our stay. I recommend Port Blanc 15 minutes away by car and there are plenty of lovely places to eat. We had had a very lovely, relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings , all seven of us and three small dogs and we will certainly be returning. If all of the above is what you want from your holiday then you must consider this property. Absolutely Fabulous !!
My group of 17 people and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Le Domaine de Kerhir. The gites were very clean and true to their description, very homely and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helped me a great deal to organise our stay and make it successful in every aspect. I would have no hesitation whatsoever to highly recommend le Domaine de Kerhir to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Brittany, Maryse
