Top Traveller Review

About the Owner

Nanny End is owned by the parents of Charlie Slater. Charlie and her husband Andrew converted the farm steading that is Beadnell Green in 2008/9 and fell in love with Nanny End and its stunning location. Charlie & Andrew own Alexandra Cottage which is a short walk across the field from Nanny End. The cottages work really well together for family holidays.

A fantastic property in beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

We had a amazing time at Nanny's End. The property feels modern and comfortable, and has all the modern features you'd expect. The garden is beautiful, and the great Beadnell beach is just 10 mins walk over a field. We were lucky with the weather and spent our time exploring the many beautiful beaches down the coast. highly recommended for a family with young children

property was modern well maintained and furnished, couldn't fault it. nice to see also interest in recycling

Beadnell was a pleasant village with satisfactory facilities for our needs. The beach was very good and we were able to walk to see the Arctic and Little terns at the other end of the beach

Owner's Response: Thank you for your great review. We are so lucky to have so many colonies of interesting sea birds along our coastline. The RSPB wrote an interesting article on the Little Terns at Beadnell, here is the link. http://www.rspb.org.uk/news/details.aspx?id=381494

Beadnell's best kept secret....

  • 5 of 5

A second visit (and third booked) says it all really, spotlessly clean, tucked away from traffic (even the cows are quiet!) five minutes from the beach, ten minutes from a couple of good eateries (The Craster Arms in the village, catered for a specific need with no trouble) and the Bamburgh Castle Inn (Seahouses). Nanny End is very well maintained inside & out, excellent customer service before during and after from the owners. Location is spot on. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property...well I would actually because that would reduce the time we can go!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for such a great review. We are always torn ourselves when recommending Beadnell as part of us wants to keep all those miles of sandy beach to ourselves!! Looking forward to having you back again. October is a great time of year to visit, autumn is an excellent excuse to get the fire roaring!

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Beautifully presented house. Comfortable, very very well presented and in the ideal location in Beadnell for the pub and restaurants; plus a picturesque walk across the field to the beach.

I love Beadnell having spent many childhood holidays in the caravan park but for any visitor the location is ideal to get to anywhere in Northumberland.

The Beach at bamburgh has the best views across to Dunstanburgh castle. It's aldo amazing for rock-pooling and little boys exploring!

The house itself was beautiful, one of 3 set well back from the road. The owners left a chocolate fondue which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is amble garden space; if I have one tiny constructive criticism it would be that the two adjacent properties have trampolines in their gardens which is like torture for kids who can see an empty trampoline but not allowed to play on it!

Overall 10/10, excellent property.

What a beautiful cottage, we felt thoroughly spoilt. Nanny End is perfectly located for visiting Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle, Craster etc and the cottage was a delight to come back to at the end of the day.

Location

From the Owner

This cottage is in the perfect location; set in the fields behind the sand dunes, yet just a short stroll across the field or down the lane to either the village of Beadnell and it's choice of unspoilt sandy beaches. The large garden is enclosed and private and a real sun trap - there is nothing better than catching the evening sun with a glass of something cold after a hard day on the beach or visiting one of the many local castles. Our visitors come back again and again as they say it is a "home from home" Testimonials include: "We felt spoilt" "We'd definitely come here again" "Everything and more provided - just bring yourselves and your clothes"

Facilities

From the Owner

Nanny End is full of character. Originally a farm steading called Beadnell Green, the buildings were converted into three cottages in 2008, ensuring that lots of original features were retained. Guests staying in the master bedroom will be sleeping in the old milking parlour! Residing at the bottom of a private drive in the open countryside, Beadnell green is the ultimate in seclusion, whilst still being just a short stroll from both the village with its two superb pubs, or the long sandy beaches for which Northumberland is renowned.
