Alexandra Cottage is nestled in the heart of Beadnell with fantastic views across Beadnell Bay towards Dunstanburgh Castle and only a 5 minute walk to a lovely sandy beach or great rockpools. The log burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings, while the range of DVD’s, books and children’s toys will ensure everyone is entertained. The secure sheltered garden has hardwood garden furniture and a barbecue for relaxed alfresco dining.

Beadnell is a popular holiday destination renowned for its extensive range of quality water sports including sea kayaking, wind surfing and scuba diving. There is a rocky outcrop scattered with rock pools great for children to explore which leads on to an expansive sweep of golden sand. A few miles inland is the historic market town of Alnwick renowned for its majestic castle, the location of the Harry Potter movies. Horse riding and fishing can be enjoyed locally and the area has several splendid golf courses.

First floor - The spacious lounge has a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, log burning stove. Lounge leads through to dining area with table to comfortably seat 6. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen.

Services - Electricity and full LPG CH included. Log burning stove - initial supply of fuel provided. Flat screen colour TV with Freeview. DVD. Radio/ iPod dock. Wi-Fi. Gas hob. Electric oven. Andrew and Charlie Slater live near Newcastle but Andrew grew up spending all his holidays in Beadnell with his family. He built Alexandra Cottage himself in 2005 and now the next generation is enjoying this fantastic village on the Northumberland coast

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Alexandra Cottage. The house has everything you need and more. Great place for kids to stay, lots of toys available. Excellent location, easy to walk to the beach, play area and pubs.

Great cottage superbly placed for tootling about Northumberland

Alexandra Cottage is a modern and well equipped cottage with a great sea view. Back garden space to enjoy the evening sun, and lovely to have the wood burning stove which was definitely needed even in April! Pint of milk and biscuits ensured we could refresh ourselves before heading out to explore

5 minute walk to the beach which is perfect. Couple of pubs to eat and drink in and also a well stocked village shop.

Seahouses only 2 miles away with pavement all the way for walking/cycling. Bamburgh only 5 miles.

Lots of lovely little places around to explore and we walked to Low Newton for lunch and back.

February Half Term

We visit Beadnell on a regular basis but this was our first stay in Alexandra Cottage. The cottage was fabulous, the topsy-turvey layout made the most of the fabulous views. The cottage had everything we needed and was lovely and warm. It suited our family of four down to the ground. It's ideally located in the village, just seconds from the playground, both pubs and the new Salt Water cafe. All of which are very welcoming and family friendly. The shop and fabulous beaches are a few minutes away. We have enjoyed sand boarding in the sand dunes, beach combing for treasure, rock- pooling and painting stones. My husband who is a keen cyclist brought his bike and enjoyed a number of rides around the area. On our only wet day we headed to the swimming pool at Alnwick then off for lunch at Barter Books. We have throughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying at Alexandra Cottage.

Nice house

A comfortable , warm , well-equipped house. Only bad point is the inadequate lighting in the kitchen. An ideal base for doing many sections of the coastal walk.

A great place, warm, all amenities, clean, so close to brilliant walks and beaches and pubs - all you could want - the only downside is when it rains, the drips from above hitting the plastic window and French door sills are very noisy and intrusive when trying to sleep........

A Cosy, Comfortable Cottage

It was very clean, very well-presented and looked after.

The views across to Dunstanborough Castle from the lounge window were stunning, and changed every day. WE particularly enjoyed watching high waves behind the dunes one windy, rainy day from the comfort of the lounge!

The kitchen was well equipped and appliances were easy to use.

The cottage was very peaceful yet close to the two hotels and coffee shop.

The well-stocked village shop was only a short walk away.

The listing was accurate and there was good customer service provided.

I would recommend this property to friends or relatives.

THe Beadnell Towers Hotel has excellent food , a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff.

The two coffee shops we tried in Seahouses-one at the leisure centre and the other at 2 Coffee one were pleasant, and the second one had amazing cakes.

The Methodist Church in Seahouses has just been refurbished and is well worth a visit.

The coffee lounge at the ...Crewe hotel in Bamburgh is very good and coffee at Doxford Hall Hotel near Alnwick is a good way of sheltering from the rain!!!

This cottage is in the perfect location; just yards from two great country pubs, yet just a short stroll across the field or down the lane to a choice of unspoilt sandy beaches. The south facing garden is sheltered and a real sun trap - there is nothing better than catching the evening sun with a glass of something cold after a hard day on the beach or visiting one of the many local castles. We made the most of the stunning coastal views by building the cottage "upside down". From the lounge windows you can see right across to the ruins of Dunstanburgh castle on the coast near Craster. Being a modern build property means it is cosy and draught free, whilst we made sure that the design and feel of the cottage is in keeping with a coastal fishing village. The vaulted ceiling with exposed beams along with the wood burning stove create a fabulous atmosphere on a winters evening.
