Mediterranean house at fishermans port of Cala Figuera

The house consists of a ground floor with two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining room. The best asset of the house is the big patio with barbacue, dining area and chill out area with sofas. The house has been recently refurbished and is in very good condition.

This house is the ideal gateway for a couple, with or without children, who is looking to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay.

One of the bedrooms is equipped with a double bed while the other room is equipped with two single beds. Both bedrooms face the exterior of the house, one to the street and the other one to the patio. The house is very luminous since all rooms and areas have openings (windows or doors) to the exterior as in a tipical mediterranean architecture. All doors and windows have meditterranean shutters that allow the passage of air when closed. This ensures that in summer, when it is hot outside, the house is refrigerated by the draught of air. The house is also equipped with air conditioning. For winter we have recently installed a pellet stove heating system that keeps the house warm and comfortable.

We had a lovely week here and would come back again, the property was clean and well maintained, shame about the derelict properties around the area, but would not stop us from booking again, Alejandra was lovely and most helpful. Cala Figuera is wonderful a little gem!

Cosy Mallorcan casita
Clean and comfortable with a lovely backyard for enjoying a vino or two. Convenient location and ample street parking with a small supermarket next door that sells hot bread. The only inconvenience, no toilet paper or soap to shower with after a twenty seven hour flight from Australia. Luckily the supermarket next door was stocked with such products, although I would expect such items to be supplied.

A lovely property
Met on arrival by Alejandra, Gabriel's wife who told us the property had been her grandmother's and obviously held lots of fond memories for her which made it feel a little special. The photos do not show how spacious it is. Two good sized bedrooms, lounge and dining room and a large patio area/outside dining area at the back that is private and quiet. There was plenty of on-street parking right outside the property while we were there. Cala Figuera is still a traditional fishing village and a wander round the port and inlets is fascinating and it also has plenty of good places to eat for locals and tourists. A couple of hints for others planning a visit: - Alejandra informed us that the water around the region is undrinkable and she was right - it is VERY salty and would probably knock your electrolyte balance off if you drank it. If you have hired a car from the airport, I would advise you pick up bottled water on the way to the property. You will pass a Lidl on the outskirts of both Campos and Santanyi or if you arrive in Cala Figuera at a reasonable time, there is a small but well stocked Coaliment supermarket at the far end of the street the property is on (about a 3 minute walk from the property). A 6 litre bottle of water there cost just 89 cents. - there are 7 concrete steps at the rear from the property to the patio so if you have very young children or have mobility difficulties, this could be a safety issue to consider. There is so much to do so I would advise not to over stretch yourself. We had planned to visit places all over the island but there is so much to see within an hour's drive of the property. In April when we visited, the wild flowers are in bloom everywhere and the Parc Naturel Mondrago a few miles north of the property is a great place to see them but even a wander around the village and particularly follow the paths on the outskirts and you are surrounded by coastal or garrique flowers and shrubs. For birdlife, the Estany de ses Gambes near the salt pans was great - Black winged stilts, Avocets, Shelducks, Kentish plovers, Redshanks, Turnstones and you can stand just 20 feet from them on the side of the road and they are not one bit bothered. Follow this road down and you come to the gorgeous beach at Es Trenc - a conservation area and plenty of Audins Gulls etc to be seen. Also lots of smaller birds I have yet to identify from my bird books! Would definitely recommend both the property and the area to stay.

Es war alles wie erwartet und hervorrageng beschrieben. Großes Kompliment an unsere Vermieter!
Die Wohnung ist einfach eingerichtet aber schön gelegen. Man erreicht zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten sämtliche Restaurants und auch den Supermarkt. Ein Spar ist direkt nebenan und ein Stück die Straße hoch ist noch ein Mallorcinischer Markt der eine andere Auswahl hat und günstiger ist. Wir haben unsere Mahlzeiten draußen in dem Innenhof zu uns genommen und auch mal gechillt. Dort ist auch die Waschmaschine untergebracht. Unser Mietwagen hat sich mehr als gelohnt! Sehr sehr schöne Insel. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
