Updated: 01-Dec-2016
The Property Provides 3 Bed, 2 Bathroom Accom With Private Parking For 2 Cars.

The old workshop is located directly off the A65 from junction 36 M6 take the A65 to Kirkby Lonsdale travel 3 miles passing the Plough Inn at the sign post for Hutton Roof turn on to the gravel driveway up to a five bar gate, where there is private parking for 2/3 vehicles. Please note you must not park any vehicles outside the gates, as this is our neighbors land and used for there own vehicles. The original property was built over 100 years ago which has now been fully renovated and extended into a luxury holiday cottage. Much of the character and original features have been maintained throughout.

Access to the property is from the driveway down rear stone steps to porch. The porch houses a log store, boot rack and coat hangers and door through to open plan kitchen/dining room with vaulted and beamed ceiling. The property has a large fully fitted kitchen with breakfast bar. Equipped with the following: electric fan oven & grill, gas hob, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer, washer, dishwasher and smoke alarm fire extinguisher. The kitchen links to open plan dining area with pine table and seating for 6.

Leading off the kitchen is a double bedroom with vaulted ceiling, large window and ensuite with shower, basin and WC. The bedroom has a pine wood double bed with bedside table and lamp, set of draws and a vintage clothes hanging rail. The large master bedroom is located off the main corridor with a king size vintage cast iron ornate bed with two bedside tables each with a lamp. The room is decorated with duck egg blue and cream featuring all pine wood furniture, a large mirror and cosy chair.

The final bedroom features two 3 ft single beds with a bed side table and lamp. There is a small built in closet which has a hanging rail and shelving plus a set of draws and mirror. The room is presented in grey tones with yellow accents and features a white painted beamed ceiling.

In between these two bedrooms is the house bathroom with limestone tiles and soothing olive green paintwork which hosts a free standing roll top bath perfect for a relaxing soak after a long days walking, sink, WC and crome heated towel rail.

Leading to the upper floor by a hand built wooden feature staircase this brings you to the main lounge area with a wooden floor, large cosy wool rug, stone hearth and log burning stove. A large comfy sofa and leather armchair, oak furniture, 40 inch flat screen TV with sky box and free WiFi. There is also a music system for CD and use of personal devises. The high vaulted ceiling with original beams has two opening window lights. Leading off the main lounge by double glass doors takes you into the light and airy sun room with feature glass windows and doors which take you out onto the roof terrace. The room has solid oak wood floors, with large cosy chair and sofa. This space is perfect for relaxing with a morning cup of coffee, reading a book or just for taking in the countryside views. The outdoor terrace provides a table and chairs and external lighting. Ideal for alfresco dining or for a glass of wine while star gazing.

As you can see from the gallery photos, the house has a traditional cottage feel whilst still maintaining a light and airy ambiance

The house is fully central heated and double glazed to ensure the property remains warm and cosy.

There are outside security lights and key safe. Unfortunately, the property is not suitable for wheelchairs due to the number of internal and external steps to the property.

As the property is a second family home, it is always treated and maintained to the highest standards. We trust you will look after the property during your stay.

The house has a strict no smoking policy. Pets will be considered at the owners discretion, please contact them directly.

Lovely Accommodation - Great Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time staying at the The Old Workshop. Upon entering the cottage it immediately felt homely. Thoughtful added touches were provided which made all of the difference. Milk, Orange Juice, Biscuits, Prosecco, Travel Cot, Highchair and a lovely card welcoming us on our Holiday. The cottage is also fully equipped with all you could possibly require on a holiday and more.

The property itself was easy to find and is in a quiet location with a great local pub (The Plough) a short distance away.

In a great location to fully explore the lakes and surrounding areas.

Overall would definitely recommend to others and would like to return myself at some point.

Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

We had a great break here, staying with friends. Did some great walks in nearby Kirkby Lonsdale. The Old Workshop is great for a small group or family, and has plenty of space and modern features. Would recommend
