It has a sheltered, private sun-trap of a patio and also a small, private, lawned garden with fire pit/BBQ.This colourful space is a delightful holiday home for upto 4 people.(Not suitable for dogs or children under 5) Kitchen diner is fully equipped for self-catering, comfy lounge has woodburning stove & underfloor heating for winter breaks, large double bedroom and a twin room, both with deep windowseats looking out over fields to the sea & there's a bathroom with lovely large bath.

A beautiful patio garden; very sheltered sun trap, good walls & fences to contain pets if necessary! Open plan living area wel equipped for self-catering, and king size bed with en-suite shower room. Both properties have a woodburning stove. They make fabulous bases from which to explore all that West Cornwall has to offer. Some of Cornwall's finest beaches are within walking distance, as are sheltered coves and breathtaking cliff paths.. St Ives, Penzance, Newlyn & Mousehole offer picturesque outings, great meals out, galleries & quirky shops. The Minack Theatre is a couple of minutes drive away. The area also has some of the richest prehistoric heritage anywhere in Europe. And for Poldark lovers it's the area where a lot of the new series was filmed!!
Please note that both properties have a Friday changeover.
We (Toby and Claire) bought Raftra Barn & Cottage in 2015, and have spent a lot of time & energy making the Barn a comfortable home from home for our guests, and setting up the Cottage to be a place we can share in the quiet months with B&B guests, and rent out to you during holiday periods. We have lived in this part of Cornwall for 25 years.... Claire running art classes and being an artist, and Toby initially running the first backpackers hotel in the area at Whitesands Lodge in Sennen, and more recently setting up a Walk & Talk counselling service. We both love the outdoors and plan to plant lots of trees and flowering shrubs in the 4 acre field that is adjacent to the barn.....so it'll be a wildlife haven in years to come.
Claire Lucas and Toby Ellison purchased this barn in 2015
We love this place. It is relatively isolated, yet in such a friendly neighbourhood. Out of season you can walk for miles along the coast path and visit hidden coves without seeing a soul. And in the warmer months, although it's busier, you can still find quiet spots to spend the day, overlooking turquoise bays that make you feel like you're in the Mediterranean!
With fantastic scenery, unspoilt wild places with an abundance of wildlife....both on land and in the sea.....along with ancient sacred sites, pilgrim routes and a rich art scene...what more could we want?!
Sheltered gardens trap the sun all day, and look out over a field towards the sea....there are even sometimes deer grazing here. Right near the crossroads of several old footpaths leading to wonderful hidden coves, turquoise beaches, magnificent cliffs and wild moors.

We had an amaznig time staying at Raftra Barn, its clean and has everything you need, easy driving distance to Penzance, Land's End, take the ferry over to the Isles of Scilly, great walks along the coast line, cute village shops, local pubs for quick lunch and the best fish n chips in Sennen. We took painting lessions with Claire, which was fantastic, will definite go back again....
Perfect, spacious accommodation for a couple. Great location and wonderful hosts, helpful and generous. The property has everything we needed. So good we didn't turn the TV on once. Will definitely return.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Raftra Barn, owners lovely and very helpful for all the local tips and knowledge. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes the great outdoors and who appreciates good accommodation with all you will need without any fuss. The walks (Coastal route) and scenery just 10 - 15 mins walk from the barn are truly breath taking, Big thumbs up!
