This is a much loved family holiday home in a prime spot in this beautiful unspoilt village. Our Trip Advisor reviews speak for themselves. We would challenge anyone to find a better equipped family friendly, comfortable house in a better location! You are a stones throw from Tresaith beach with its Blue Flag status, unique waterfall and stunning rock formations as well as staggering distance to The Ship Inn pub!

There are 6 bedrooms, a separate playroom with sofa, mattresses for over spill and kids sleep overs, a TV and DVD player and a Wii, 2 bathrooms and a separate toilet and two large open plan areas on the ground floor. On one side there is a wonderful, well equipped stunning kitchen diner with views of the beach and ocean and on the other side a large lounge with flat screen TV, wood burning stove and extensive vinyl collection for those long holiday evenings. Outside there is a utility room with a shower, washing machine and drier and an outside toilet. There is a secure back garden with a patio with views of the sea. Outside there is a shed with wetsuits and children's toys that you are welcome to borrow. There are 2 'sit on top' kayaks that guests are invited to use at their own risk! There is parking for 4 cars and private steps down to the shop (open April - October) and on to the beach.

About Jo Watkins

We are the Watkins family (Dave, Jo, Polly, Jinks, Tom, Meg and Scully the dog) and we live in Mumbles, Gower. Dave is a Consultant Anaesthetist and Jo is a local GP. We are very passionate about Wales and all it has to offer as a holiday destination. Our kids and dog love the sea and the outdoors. We love travelling and will be looking to rent our own home in Mumbles out as well when we do long periods of travel in the future.

Why Jo Watkins chose Ceredigion

My husband's family have been holidaying in Tresaith for the last 50 years! For the last 11 years Granny rented Cartrefle from the previous owners for her three children and their families to get together for 2 wks every summer. We spent these summers at Cartrefle wondering if the owners would ever consider selling and what we would do to it if we ever got our hands on it! May 2015 we received a message from the owners offering our family first refusal on the house they knew we loved before putting it in the hands of an auction house. We knew we had to make it work and set about buying Cartrefle, making the necessary internal improvements and making it into a holiday let business to be able to spread the word about this stunning village and area and all it has to offer families wanting a back to basics British beach holiday. Granny still has her 2 wks every summer but we are able to offer a very personal service to guests who rent it from us for the rest of the year. We know the place and the house inside out and offer all that information to our guests. We love to know what people got up to on their stay and keep in touch with our guests during and after their stay.

What makes this house unique

The over whelming unique feature of Cartrefle is location. They say location is everything and never is that more true than here. Everyone can be on their own time frame. People go up and down to the beach as they wish without the need for cars or day trips. There are, of course, plenty of day trips and things to do in the area but people often say they struggled to drag themselves away from the place! The views are stunning. Stunning sunsets and dolphins in the bay are a normal finding in the summer months!
