A beautifully presented and fully equipped Victorian cottage with parking.

An idyllic and quintessential English cottage set in a quiet cul-de-sac of just 10 cottages less than 5 minutes' walk from Canterbury's historic and vibrant city centre. The property which boasts both front and back gardens, Canterbury Cathedral views, 2 bedrooms, stunning decor and all mod cons sleeps up to 6 people is one of the very few cottages in the middle of Canterbury which is also pet friendly.

About Chris Perkins

Deb and I (Chris) both teachers bought the cottage with the view of it becoming our first holiday let. Our first guest, Mr. Sinclair arrived 7 September, 2015. We bought the cottage after our son attended Kent University and we fell in love with the city. The cottage's location is perfect and even negates the need to permanently have a car at your disposal, even though there is designated parking outside the cottage.

We are still discovering all that Canterbury and the surrounding area has to offer and every time we venture out, there is something new to thrill and enjoy.

Our cottage welcomes considerate pet owners as we too have two Westies who have enjoyed time there as we prepared the cottage for guests.

This is definitely a 'hidden gem' the cottage was exactly as described lots of little touches to make you feel at home. The location is perfect only minutes away from the centre and the added bonus of a car parking space was very welcome. If you want to go to Canterbury then you must stay here!

Charming, cozy, and comfortable

The location is perfect. Only a few minutes walk to the center of town. A huge plus. The house was very clean and comfortable. The owners were very kind and helpful making sure we had everything we needed for our stay over Christmas - we loved that when we arrived, near dark, that the living room was lite up with a decorated Christmas tree and fireplace mantel garland. There was a lovely welcome package of wine and food items. Free Parking in front on the property was so helpful. We truly enjoyed this charming home and highly recommend it if you are looking for accommodation in Canterbury. Living in a home where you have a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, dining room and 2 bedrooms is so much nicer than staying in a one room hotel. We really felt like we were living as one of the locals because we felt so at home. Thank you Debbie and Chris. Much happiness in the new year.

Just as I remember

After not visiting the place of my birth in 10 years I decided it was time. The house was in a perfect spot in Canterbury, very close to everything. I arrived earlier than anticipated on the day and decided to check the location out before I went to see my parents in Chartham. Chris had just finished preparing the house and invited me in, gave me a tour and handed me the keys. There was a welcome basket of bread, milk, wine and various sundries which was really appreciated, even though there was a Waitrose supermarket just up the road, but again appreciated after a 10 hour flight and 2 hour drive. The house was clean, comfortable and cozy. Added to that was the fact that parking was included which was a complete bonus staying in Canterbury with its narrow streets and very limited parking, just remember if you're traveling from the States that smaller vehicles are king in the UK with its old roads, streets and limited parking!

Will certainly be back in the UK much sooner than the long hiatus I took and would definitely consider this house again if I wanted to base myself in Canterbury. It was a pleasure meeting you both that day of check in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thanks for making the stay very comfortable.

Perfect location, clean, quirky home

My husband, my sister and I rented this this lovely little home just outside the walls of Canterbury. I couldn't ask for a better location- we were literally minutes away from everything, yet the home is on a quiet street which was a welcome refuge. This is a period home, so you will find the layout a bit less than perfectly convenient- for example, both bedrooms are on the first floor (for fellow Americans, that means up a very narrow staircase) but the only bathroom facilities on that floor are accessible by only 1 bedroom. So if you are in the second bedroom you will navigate the narrow stairs plus one more awkwardly placed stair just outside your door to use the toilet at night. The kitchen is in 2 rooms, in order to accommodate modern appliances, but this didn't prove a problem at all.. We were extremely happy with our stay. The place was immaculate, the beds WONDERFUL, and our host left a truly thoughtful gift basket, with literally enough food for both a dinner and a breakfast. It was too cool during our stay to use the outdoor facilities, but they would be a definite plus during warmer weather. The lounge and dining rooms were large enough for all of our needs. We appreciated being able to park our rental car safely off-street. I book places to stay primarily based on 2 things- location and cleanliness, and this home scored a 10 on both. Canterbury is a wonderful, ancient town with much to explore, an you won't find a better, more affordable base than this lovely home.
