About the Owner

Hi... My name is Christian, ( Chris ) and I'm German nationality, " but " with a good sense of humour! No-one ever realises I am German, infact a lot think I'm South African !

Having worked many years in London, I was known as the " Cockney German " ! My favourite programme infact is " Only Fools and Horses " !

I am happily married, my wife is called Lise, a huge part of my life, and we live with her Mom and a whole zoo of little & large animals!

We are all big on home/family life, Lise looks after " the zoo " and has an online lingerie business...

Cornwall is our home, and we love it.. We have everything on our doorstep, yet away from the bright lights and hustle n bustle from the towns and city..

I work in St Austell, so not far to drive....

Nothing in Cornwall is really that far...... as it's such a small little county to start with.....

We fell in love with it, and I am sure you all will........

Speaks English, German

An old stone cottage recently renovated to a high standard. Well positioned for touring.

The cottage is very welcoming and Christian and the family are very friendly and helpful. We spent four nights there travelled in a different direction each day and covered our itenary easily as we were not not far from the tourist sites of western Cornwall.

There are only a few miles to Helston with a good sized Tesco on the eastern side of the town so self catering is not a problem.!

Fab Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We arrived by car from Kent, via clear local instructions provided by owner Christian who greeted us along with their puppy!! ;) we were made to feel very welcome. We were shown around the Old Dairy Cottage, and explain everything we needed to know, everything was very well presented, and exactly as described, with very nice extra touches. Towels and linen all included, décor tasteful, with the kind thoughtful added welcome basket, including some fresh eggs which was greatly appreciated.

We loved the cottage it was clean and furnished very comfortably. The location was ideal for visiting local attractions, only wished we could have visited more. we managed to meet up with friends who we found to be living very near by sheer luck a really pleasant surprise.

We loved visiting St Ives and The Lizard, Falmouth harbour which was not far away, we were advised by a colleague to try Harbour Lights Fish and Chips, which we agree was very Good. We found local eating establishments nice too, we would recommend The Black Swan in nearby lovely village Gweek, the food was fabulous, do book if possible as was very busy, the staff there were very welcoming.

The local pub restaurant The Halfway House also good, where we had a good carvery, on our first evening, Christian kindly gave advice on places, some we didn't get to try as we were only on a short break, we need longer next time ;)

We found The cottage a very peaceful relaxing place to stay,a lovely retreat with great views, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

We appreciated the Thoughtfulness

Kind Regards and Good Luck for your Future

Beautiful, comfortable and well equipped cottage perfectly situated for exploring SW coast.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week here in this beautiful cottage. Comfy beds, comfy sofa and modern, well equipped kitchen. Christian welcomed us and was very knowledgable about the area. Private garden was great for our young girls (5 and 1). It was a perfect base from which to explore the Lizard peninsular with its gems such as Kynance Cove and Mullion Cove as well as Porthleven, St Michaels Mount, Falmouth and beautiful beaches. Haven for members of the National Trust!!! We had everything we needed and would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.

Lovely Cottege

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in an ideal location

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our 2 week stay at this lovely and well equipped cottage. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Christian and his family who were always willing to help and we loved meeting their extended family of animals. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and well maintained, it has been newly renovated but has managed to retain the character of a traditional Cornish farm cottage. The cottage is ideally placed to visit all the local attractions such as the Eden project and Gardens of Heligan which are just over a hour away and closer to home Lands End, the Lizard and St Ives. There is lots to do even if the weather is not the best such as the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek or a visit to Pendennis Castle in Falmouth.

We would definitely recommend this cottage and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
