About the Owner

We have lived and raised our 3 children in the South Lakeland area over the last 24 years. Keen on a number of outdoor activities, we still spend most of our spare time cycling and walking in this area. Happy to share this knowledge with guests.

A beautiful place to stay in the Lake District

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived we were delighted with the modern design & colours used in the cottage.

The interior was immaculate & had all the facilities we needed for our four night stay.

The views from the garden were beautiful and gave us a taster of Cumbrian landscapes; it was a pleasure to sit out in the evening, listen to the birds & enjoy a drink. All in all a wonderful cottage to stay in for two with easy access to many great walks in the Lake District.

Excellent

If you want a house with big windows and a beautiful view this is definitely for you. Massive landscape across to Grange and the coast. Lying in bed watching the stars was also magical. A very comfortable, clean and well appointed house. Very warm and relaxing. More than enough room for two, and loads of storage space in the bedroom. Well equipped kitchen and lovely to have afternoon tea waiting for us. Howard was very helpful and made sure all our needs were met; thank you for the oven gloves.

A good location for visiting The Lakes, without the crowds!

Highly recommended. We have stayed in quite a few self catering apartments / cottages, this is one of the best.

Perfect small barn conversion

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from an enjoyable weekend spent at Orchard Cottage. The owners have put a lot of thought into the conversion and we were very happy with how it had been appointed. The rear garden area was spacious and very private. We were lucky to get some fine weather, and had the opportunity to make the most of sitting outside enjoying the views. The cottage has walks from the front door, so good for dog owners like ourselves, as well as a good location for drives into West Mooorland. Overall we were very pleased with the cottage and would like to return next year.
