Boduic house is a large detached farmhouse, in a tranquil position yet only 4km from Cleguerec. Ideal for families with children and well behaved pets.Couples are also welcome, and benefit from a discount. It has a fenced garden, with a gravel courtyard and exclusive parking. Set in its own private grounds. Ideal for play, or just for relaxing!

A large farmhouse KITCHEN/DINING AREA, with seating for 6 persons. Well equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, dish washer, kettle, coffee maker, food processor etc. Log burning stove and electric radiators.

LOUNGE with 2 sofas, comfy chair, wifi, telephone (free calls to landlines only) There are plenty of books and games available.

Stairs lead to the bedrooms, with a stair gate at the top.


The main bedroom has a double bed, and an ensuite toilet/hand basin.

The 2nd bedroom has a double bed.

The 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds.

All bedrooms have velux windows (with blinds) and electric heating.

The family bathroom is upstairs, with a shower, separate bath, toilet and hand basin.

FRONT OF THE HOUSE is gravelled, with parking for up to 4 cars. There is a dining table and chairs, ideal for meals in the sun.

SIDE AND REAR garden are laid to lawn, and have sun loungers, table tennis, a trampoline, BBQ, and tables and chairs. A simple garden ideal for relaxing.

The house has child gates upstairs, and there are outdoor toys such as slide and wheel along buggies for little ones. There are plenty of books on local places, and I keep visitors up to date with the good bars and restaurants to visit, as well as events on when you are here. The house is planned for visitors to relax and enjoy, and often families come with their pets. Visitors have commented on the feeling of space here, with the quiet roads, the expanse of countryside, and yet never far from civilisation! Others have said how the locals have made them feel at home, being friendly and inviting.. not everyone speaks english, but sign language works well! I hope you come and visit our lovely corner of the world.. make yourselves at home, and enjoy!

About Mrs E Taylor

I moved here in 2002, not really knowing anything about Brittany. But I immediately fell in love with the area, the culture and the people. I love the countryside, outdoor life, the pretty villages, towns and of course, I love the lake! The lake is so tranquil, with its lovely paths for walking, the restaurants and good for swimming. So I don't need to travel far for my love of water to be satisfied! I have a small dog, so it is perfect to be next to the huge forest for walks. Cycling and walking beside the canal is great, no traffic and no HILLS! I go to lots of the local car boot fairs, and there are always festivals to celebrate something, usually food! I paint, sculpt, garden, love to dance and go to the music festivals, love meeting people and eating out.

Why Mrs E Taylor chose Cléguérec

Approaching the house for the first time,I fell in love with the location. I could see the potential, and had always wanted to have a project like this. With excellent local artisans I have an old house with all modern facilities. A lovely blend of old and new. With everything to be done, from replacing the roof, to replacing the soil floors! But this meant attention could be made to good insulation, new wiring and plumbing throughout. The first floor was just a loft, with thick oak beamed floor, and a superb timber roof frame. Much of the oak beams are still revealed, still showing signs where there was a thatched roof, many years ago. With a new septic tank, new kitchen and bathrooms, it has all modern conveniences (literally!) The garden is a sun trap, the area is tranquil, and only 4km to Cleguerec with all necessary shops! The house is located in a quiet hamlet, with impressive houses built from granite. The blue stone in the buildings was mined at Boduic many years ago. The mine now closed , this stone is difficult to obtain.

What makes this farmhouse unique

In the heart of Brittany, yet only 5 mins from the lake with its water sports and restaurants. Sit on the terrace at the Anse du Sordan with a meal or just a coffee, and enjoy the view. Go fishing,walking cycling by the canal. Visit some of the neighbouring pretty villages with good restaurants and shops. The abbaye de Bon Repos is nearby, with its Sunday market (local produce), the son et lumiere spectacle (august) and its pretty cafes. Pontivy is beautiful, with the chateau du Rohan, lots of boutique shops, and historical buildings. Whilst you are here, try Breton specialities such as crepes, cider, and oysters! Brittany has strong maritime and celtic links, there are festivals and events throughout the year. The area is steeped in history. Cleguerec itself was founded by a monk from the UK, Gwerrock, who came here in the 6th century. A thriving village, with plenty of shops, services, and its own statue of liberty! Great all year round, ideal for short or long visits, house hunting, touring etc. There are megalithic sites all around, with menhirs and dolmen nearby, testament to its early settlements. So come relax, tour, walk, cycle, sing, dance, sleep, fish,explore, eat, drink, ENJOY!

Warm, comfortable and welcoming!

When we arrived at Boduic House (late and very tired!) the owner was there to let us in with a warm welcome. The house was clean and was equipped with everything we needed.

Boduic is very spacious, it has three comfortable bedrooms with lovely views from the windows. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle with a good power shower. The living room is cosy - especially when the log burner is lit! The kitchen is huge with a big dining table, perfect for family meals.

Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a field next to it and trees all round and in front of the kitchen there is a patio table in a lovely sunny position.

Boduic is a very peaceful and quiet hamlet. Wonderful!

Country Break

Boduic provided an opportunity to experience the Brittany rural lifestyle first hand.

The house was perfectly located amidst rolling farmland and offered daily walks when weather permitted.

Boduic was also well and centrally located for excursions elsewhere in Brittany and via Rennes rail, to Paris for short breaks.

Very well appointed cottage which provided an excellent base for exploring the Brittany area.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. It was peaceful and secluded as promised, yet the village of Cleguerec was only a few minutes drive away, with all the essential amenities. All the amenities were modern and of good quality. The UK TV channels and the fast internet were particularly appreciated by our children.

It was a good base to investigate the area, being roughly equal distance from the north, south and west coasts. The nearby large lake provided excellent water sport facilities.

The large secure garden was a pleasant place to relax, with the reassurance that our pet dog could not wander off.

Beautiful place

We still talk with very good memories on the week we could spend, the four of us, at Boduic.

Very comfortable farmhouse, modernized, fully equipped.

We totaly agree with the other reviews!!!

There was even Internet, so we could communicate with other members of family somewehre in the world.

Our Airedale Terrier Gaya (14 years old) was so happy at Boduic, she refused to get in the car on our leave day. She turned arround and walked back to the garden…

We really recommend the place!

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and immerse yourself in beautiful, tranquil countryside then Boduic is for you. Accommodation is a very comfortable, modernised farmhouse that would meet all your needs and as well as this the owner provides an excellent customer service. Places of interest are easily accessible via pot-hole free, traffic-jam free roads. It is a joy to drive in Brittany.

The house is in the heart of Brittany,with the nearby Guerledan lake and Nantes Brest canal, it is an area of natural beauty.The local village of Cleguerec is a pretty village, with good support for its shops keeping the village very much alive. The house is set in a small hamlet of detached properties, with quiet lanes and fields mainly set to arable farming. There are forests close to the house, with its many trails for walks on well signed paths.Cycling is a pleasure along the canal, which also has fishing by permit. Swimming, water sports, canoes, pedalos, restaurants, and small sandy beaches are at the Guerledan lake, and again, plenty of footpaths around the lake. It is ideal to unwind here, or if be active!

Yet only around 90 minutes to north and south coast, it is ideal for touring all of Brittany. The area has strong celtic connections, in evidence in the local music, carvings, chapels, and its legends. King Arthur has links in Brittany, and there are pre historic sites nearby,with dolmens and menhirs. Carnac has a huge alignment of standing stones. A green and temperate region, with pretty villages and historic Pontivy. It is not heavily touristy, but there are always things to do, winter and summer! The Guerledan lake has small man made beaches,restaurants and bars. Cleguerec has a supermarket, butchers, pharmacy, banks, florists,2 bakery shops, banks, hair dressers, estate agents, petrol pumps, bars, restaurants, a bistro,a creperie, a church, garages, doctors, and vets. It is a thriving village, with its own statue of liberty, too!

Pontivy is a historical town with a chateau, many shops, restaurants, outdoor and indoor swimming pool, 10 pin bowling, soft play area. Pretty all year round, it has larger retail shops nearby too. A true feeling of space,friendly locals, great roads for touring.
