Nemo apartment is a very well-maintained, luxury apartment which was built to an extremely high standard and features attractive antique marble flooring and efficient air-conditioning/heating throughout. A good size Z-bed is available for extra sleeping accommodation. The apartment is non-smoking in all internal areas and is, due to its position, unsuitable for those of limited mobility.

The double bedroom features a large double bed and some excellent wardrobe space. There is a modern shower bathroom en-suite. The second bedroom has two single beds. A second shower bathroom leads off from the lounge.

The well equipped kitchen features a gas hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, freshwater cooler, kettle, toaster and an extensive range of kitchen utensils. The kitchen also features a dining area with attractive wrought iron/glass table and 4 matching chairs. A large patio to the rear of the apartment houses a washing machine, iron, ironing board and clothes airer.

Our beautiful, open plan lounge has a comfortable sofa and an easy chair.The two bookcases offer a wide selection of books and games.There is also a CD player and a range of CDs. The lounge leads directly onto a super-sized terrace with spectacular, azure views over the 30m communal pool towards Kalkan and Kalamar Bays. The terrace features an enormous marble topped table with matching chairs. (Should the occasion arise our table seats 12 for that special al fresco event!) There are also two reclining chairs and a hammock available for further relaxation. The pool complex boasts a shallow pool for young children.There are 4 designated sun-loungers and two parasols available poolside for Nemo guests.

To the side of the apartment there is a further, very private garden area, culminating with a further seating area- a real getaway space!

Our apartment features a fabulously efficient Maid Service. All bins are emptied on a daily basis; wall-to-wall cleaning, towels and linen changes take place twice a week.

The complex has an English-speaking on-site manager 24 hrs a day. There is an on-site generator that kicks in automatically, whenever the power fails. This is extremely valid in tourist areas in Turkey, as cuts can and do happen!

Saneil also has free WiFi access so you need never be out of touch with the real world.

I am Cynthia Heyes, a retired teacher, married to Andrew, a semi-retired accountant.We live slightly to the north of Sheffield and are the new and extremely enthusiastic owners of Nemo Apartment. We purchased after visiting our friends' apartment at Saneil for some years. We have actually been visiting Kalkan for around twelve years (always to the same apartment at Saneil) and LOVE the ambience! Saneil Apartments are particularly superb and when the opportunity to buy occurred we just couldn't refuse!

We had a marvelous 2 weeks, the apartment was lovely and clean, more than enough space for 4 adults. We managed to borrow a BBQ from one of the neighbour's so ate in a couple of nights, though the kitchen is very modern and has everything you would need, plenty of outside room and the hammock was a real bonus for the lazy sunny afternoons. Maid service every day who were lovely, friendly and helpful.

Swimming pool is very well looked after and we had our own sunbeds and umbrella's.

This is our 5th year in Kalkan and was probably the best apartment, would highly recommend and will definitely book again.

Fabulous Fortnight

Our two week stay with sons aged 9 & 17 is sadly nearly over.

We have loved staying at Nemo. Ideal for 4 adults, both bedrooms are spacious, plenty of storage, good air con. Kitchen was more than adequate for our needs (we ate out a lot but would have had no problem cooking an evening meal). Water cooler was very welcome.

The apartment is modern with traditional decorative touches. There is a huge outdoor dining table, a very comfy hammock in the side garden, and four sunbeds by the large pool for exclusive use of Nemo 's guests.

The apartments, grounds and gardens are very well managed, and included cleaning service is excellent.

The view of both bays is spectacular, which of course means a steep climb up from Kalamar Rd, or taxis which are reasonable and plentiful.

We have visited Kalkan several times before and would highly recommend this accommodation. It is modern & spotless, has everything you could need, and has a really 'homely' feel.

Saneil apartments are total magic.The complex is a short (10/15mins) walk into the centre of Kalkan, there are wonderful views and the complex is SO well kept. There are olive groves close to the apartment and at quiet times we sometimes see the local shepherd herding his sheep on the hillside behind the apartment. We have had very many super holidays here, with our children, with friends etc, so that Kalkan(and Saneil) will always hold a very special place in our hearts.

Kalkan is a most picturesque fishing village with a beautiful harbour that features local fishing craft, visiting gulets and yachts. Boat trips are available from the harbour and usually feature breath-taking views, an opportunity to swim and a fantastic lunch. There are numerous restaurants with stunning rooftop terraces that offer delicious Turkish and Ottoman cuisine plus more international fare. There are also very pleasant local bars within the village. The local inhabitants are always friendly and happy to speak English.

There are no large hotels and many visitors are returnees who have succumbed to the "magic" of Kalkan.

There is excellent shopping- offerings include leather goods,clothes, watches, glass, ceramics, local farm produce and spices. Market day is Thursday and invariably a good-humoured bargaining experience!

There is a pebble beach in Kalkan and several near-by Beach Clubs,offering watersports, restaurant and bar facilities and free boat services to them from the harbour.

Further out there are trout farms in the hills above Kalkan, all with their own restaurants and many historical sites along the Lycian Way. For a really refreshing day out the Saklikent Gorge is well worth a visit. Patara beach lies a 20minute drive away and is a home to protected turtles, featuring 18 kms of uninterrupted golden sand. There is also a wonderful sandy cove at Kaputas. There is a local dolmus service and car hire is also easy. Local taxi services are cheap and reliable. The nearby town of Kas is also popular with tourists and well worth a visit.

We fell in love with Kalkan more than a decade ago. We adore the Saneil complex which is so well maintained, has an above average size pool and superb views. Our apartment is cool on the hottest day and features such a well-shaded patio area. The communal pool is a delight, shared by only 14 other apartments and the advantage of designated sun-loungers and parasols is enormous. No more sunbed towels at dawn...just amble down at leisure! Our apartment is in a prime poolside position, so easy to pop back in for the cooling drink! The village of Kalkan itself is picturesque with cobbled streets, bouganvillea strewn balconies and a quaint fishing harbour. There are enough good restaurants to keep even the most pernicious gourmet occupied and happy. With car hire or an economical local taxi it is possible to enjoy the cool of the local mountains and visit some of the trout farms on the hillsides above Kalkan. Here the views to the coast are breathtaking. For the more adventurous there is a wide choice of boat trips from the harbour, ancient ruins and an enormous sandy beach only a short car drive away and rafting at Saklikent. .
